Aether Currents

Nizuni: Added some clarification to the opening paragraphs and made some grammatical and punctuation changes.

[[Aether Currents]] are required to unlock the ability to fly on [[mounts]] in zones released from [[Heavensward]] on. Players are required to attune to all the Aether Currents to unlock flying in that zone. Some Aether Currents are found scattered throughout the zone. Others are rewarded by completing [[Main Scenario Quests]] and [[Side Quests]]. Aether Currents in the field look like greenish blobs of wind. Right click on them to attune. Players can check their attunement progress through the Aether Currents window under Travel in the Main Menu.

Each [[locations|zone]] released in [[Heavensward]] (3.0), [[Stormblood]] (4.0), and [[Shadowbringers]] (5.0) had 15 Aether Currents (with the exception of Azys Lla, which only had 5), 10 field currents and 5 quests. When [[Endwalker]] (6.0) released, its zones also have 15, 10 field currents and 5 quests, but it reduced all prior zones to 9, 4 field currents and 5 quests, by eliminating 6 field currents in each zone.

==Unlock==
Aether Currents are unlocked after completing the 3.0 [[Main Scenario Quest]] {{questlink|main|Divine Intervention}}. The same quest that awards the player the {{item icon|Black Chocobo}} and {{Item icon|Aether Compass}}.
