General Information
The Navel (Hard) is a level 50 trial. It requires a full part of 8 players. In The Navel (Hard), players are required to defeat the mighty Primal Titan (Hard). The trial can be unlocked after completing The Howling Eye (Hard).
Speak to Y'shtola at the Waking Sands to receive the quest In a Titan Spot

*Players are awarded with 15 Allagan Tomestone of Poetics for completing The Navel (Hard).

Titan HM is a fairly difficult encounter. Players can reduce its difficulty by memorizing its attack rotation. While a 5 phase boss fight seems daunting, Titan's attack pattern does not change within one phase.

Abilities
Rock Buster is an instant melee attack that deals a moderate amount of damage to Titan's current target.

Landslide is a frontal column AoE that deals moderate amount of damage and knocks back all targets hit.

Tumult is a stomp attack that deals small amount of damage to all players. It is used up to seven times in a row depending on Titan's HP.

Geocrush is a leaping AoE attack. When Titan jumps into the air, a giant, red circular, ground indicator will appear at the perimeter of the boss room. After a few seconds, Titan slams down into the center of the room, dealing damage to all players based on how close you are to the center. The ability also breaks off the perimeter of the boss platform. Players at the edge of the boss room will take moderate amounts of damage while players at the center of the boss room will take heavy damage.

Weight of the Land is an AoE ability that spawns 4 swirling circular pools of sand under four random players. The swirls explode after a few seconds and deal heavy damage to all targets hit.

Bomb Boulders is an ability that spawns numerous bombs around the boss room. The bombs will explode after a short time, dealing heavy damage to nearby players. Bombs that spawn earlier will explode sooner than bombs that spawn later.

Rock Throw is an ability that spawns clock-like symbol underneath a random player. A few seconds later the player will be encased by an object named Granite Gaol. Play encased by the Granite Goal cannot move, attack or use abilities. Other players can attack the Gaol to break the player free. After escaping the Gaol, the player will have the debuff Determination Down.

Earthen Fury is Titan's ultimate ability. If Titan's Heart was not destroyed before the end of phase 4, Titan will instant kill all players. If the heart was destroyed, Titan will do moderate amount of damage to all players.

Mountain Buster is a frontal attack that deals very heavy damage to Titan's target (tank).

Rotations
Phase 1: Landslide -> Tumult -> (Repeat)

Phase 2: Weight of the Land -> Landslide -> Tumult -> (Repeat)

Phase 3: Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Bomb Boulders -> Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Rock Throw -> Tumult -> (Repeat)

Phase 4: Rock Throw -> Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Tumult -> Rock Throw -> Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Earthen Fury

Phase 5: Mountain Buster -> Tumult -> Weight of the Land -> Bomb Boulders + Landslide -> Mountain Buster -> Weight of the Land -> Rock Throw -> Landslide -> (Repeat)
Phase 1: 100% - 90% HP
Landslide -> Tumult -> (Repeat)

In phase 1 Titan will use Landslide and Tumult on repeat. Players should avoid Titan's frontal column AoE attack named Landslide. For phase 1 there is a wall at the edge of the boss room, preventing players from falling off when they are knocked off. When Titan is at about 90% HP, it will leap into air and use Geocrush. Players should move to the perimeter of the boss room, within the red ground indicator (outside of the red area). They should not be in the center of the room. Players can also stack up to receive Sacred Soil from Scholar or AoE heals.

Phase 2: 90% - 75% HP
Weight of the Land -> Landslide -> Tumult -> (Repeat)

The wall at the edge of the boss room is now gone. The boss will be able to knock players off the platform through knock back attacks such as Landslide. Weight of the Land is the new ability used by Titan in this phase. Players should move out of the swirling sand traps that appear on the ground. At bout 75% HP, Titan will leap into air and use Geocrush. Players should move to the perimeter of the boss room, within the red ground indicator. Geocrush signals the end of Phase 2.
Phase 3: 75% - 55% HP
Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Bomb Boulders -> Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Rock Throw -> Tumult -> (Repeat)

Bomb Boulders and Rock Throw are the new abilities used by Titan in this phase. Bomb Boulders spawn bombs around the boss room that explode after a short time. The bombs that spawn first will explode first. Rock Throw places a clock-like symbol at the feet of a random player. A few seconds later, it encases that player in Granite Gaol, incapacitating the individual. Other players can destroy the Gaol to free the player. Newly freed player will have the debuff Determination Down. White Mages can cleanse the debuff with Esuna.

Bomb Boulders spawn bombs in the boss room in 2 different patterns. In the first pattern, bombs spawn at the edge of the room then at the center. The bombs at the edge of the room will explode first then the bomb in the center will explode. Players should move to the center of the room first to avoid the exploding bombs at the edge of the room. They should move to the empty spot at the edge of the room to avoid the bomb at the center. In the other pattern the bombs spawn in the center area and corner areas of the room. Players should move away from the center and corners of the room to avoid the exploding bombs.

Phase 4: Titan's Heart
Rock Throw -> Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Tumult -> Rock Throw -> Landslide -> Weight of the Land -> Earthen Fury

In Phase 4 players need to destroy the Titan's Heart before Titan finishes its ability rotation. If Titan uses its ability rotation, the whole party will wipe. Titan will not use Boulder Bombs in this phase.

Titan will use Rock Throw twice in this phase. Players should kill the Granite Gaol and free the player for the first Rock Throw. You should ignore the Granite Gaol and DPS down Titan's Heart for the second Rock Throw. Do not forget to cleanse the Determination Down with Esuna.

Use Limit Break to kill the Heart if your party does not have enough DPS.

After killing the Heart, players should break the player out of the Granite Gaol. Healers should cast AoE heals in preparation for Earthen Fury.

Phase 5: 55% - 0% HP
Mountain Buster -> Tumult -> Weight of the Land -> Bomb Boulders + Landslide -> Mountain Buster -> Weight of the Land -> Rock Throw -> Landslide -> (Repeat)

In the fifth and final phase, Titan gains the ability Mountain Buster. Mountain Buster does very heavy damage to the tank. Tanks should use defensive cooldowns to reduce Mountain Buster's damage. Other players should use damage reduction abilities such as Virus and Eye for an Eye after Titan uses Landslide.

As Titan's HP drops, he will cast additional Tumult in a row. Up to 7 Tumult will be casted in a row when Titan's HP is really low. Healers should pre-cast AoE heals if possible.

In addition to the two Bomb Boulders spawning patterns from phase 3, Titan will have a brand new pattern. In this pattern, 9 bombs are dropped in 3 columns to form a 3 X 3 formation. The 3 bombs in the middle column will explode first, players should move either north or south, to the 2 columns of the bombs on the side. After the bombs in middle have exploded, players should return to the middle of the boss room to avoid the bombs on the sides.

Players must be level 50 and must have completed the following:

Main Scenario Quest
* The Ultimate Weapon
* Ifrit Bleeds, We Can Kill It

Strategy
*As of 2.1 the strategy for this fight has changed. Eruption can no longer be stunned indefinitely. The new format allows stun to work three times before full resistance is built for 1 minute or so. Make sure if you are stunning Ifrit, that no other players are using stuns, and that you only stun eruption.

Phase 1
For the first phase, non-tank players should not stand in front of Ifrit. This is due to several of his abilities:
* Incinerate is an instant frontal breath attack that deals a moderate amount of damage to all targets in front of Ifrit.
* Vulcan Burst is an instant attack that deals small amount of damage to all players near Ifrit. Also causes knockback.
* Eruption is an ability that appears as red crackling glow under a random player. After a few seconds the ground will erupt, dealing heavy damage to all players within.
* Crimson Cyclone is an ability used by Ifrit. He stands at the edge of the boss room, in a sprinting pose for a few seconds. Ifrit then dashes forward, dealing heavy damage to all players caught in his path.

Tanks should tank the boss at the edge of the boss room so ranged damage dealers and casters do not get hit by Vulcan Burst. Players should interrupt Ifrit's Eruption with stuns as often as possible. When Ifrit uses Crimson Cyclone, his charging attack, players should not be in front of the boss.

At about 3/4 HP, phase 2 begins.

Phase 2
During phase 2, Ifrit will gain two new abilities:
* Sear is an instant attack that deals small amount of damage to all players near Ifrit.
* Radiant Plume is an ability that places glowing red circles on the ground. The circles will explode and deal heavy damage to all targets within after a few seconds.

Plumes in this phase are outer plumes then inner plumes. Followed by Eruption then Cyclone.

Phase 3
At roughly 50% hp. Ifrit will summon 4 nails. The nails are top priority. After a period of time Ifrit will perform his signature ability Hellfire. If any nails remain, Hellfire will instantly kill all players, but if they are all destroyed Hellfire will instead only do heavy damage to all players. It is highly recommended to gather up when Hellfire occurs but not on top of the main tank. If the healers are slow at healing this damage, vulcan burst could follow doing damage to all in range.

It is recommended that any BLM's or SMN's in the party use the Limit Break on the Nails to make quick work of them. Although not a necessity, it can provide breathing space to a party lacking good DPS.

As of 2.1, Ifrit's Infernal Nails have had a drastic upgrade to damage nullification from Limit Breaks. Pre 2.1 a caster dps Limit Break 2 or better would destroy the nails outright. Now in 2.1 the nails will still have around 20-30% hp. If you do not have caster dps limit break, have the melee dps down the first nail. One dps should advance to the second nail and Limit break. Destroy the 3rd nail. Limit break should be up again at this point for the 4th nail (if not, it should be really close). Limit break then finish off the fourth nail.

Phase 4
After Hellfire has been cast, Ifrit enters phase 4 where he has all the abilities from phase 2 excluding Hellfire.

The order of attacks is:
*Outer Radiant Plumes

Strategy
Tank should pull Garuda to the far north edge of the room. Rest of the party members should spread out and stay away from the stone pillars so her Friction and Wicked Wheel will not damage the pillars. Tanks should avoid Slipstream by running out of her line of sight.

Garuda will vanish, teleport and use either Mistral Song or Mistral Shriek once every 60 seconds or so. Players need to break line of sight by hiding behind the pillars whenever she uses either of those abilities.

When Garuda vanishes the first time, she will reappear at the far north edge of the room and cast Mistral Song. Players should break her line of sight by hiding behind the stone pillars. After about 60 seconds she will vanish and appear in the center of the room. She will then cast Mistral Shriek. Players need to hide behind the pillars and break line of sight with her.

After each Mistral Song or Mistral Shriek, Garuda will spawn a group of adds called Razor Plumes. Razor Plumes must be killed immediately. If they are left alive they will damage the stone pillars.

*Use AoE abilities to kill Plumes.

When Garuda is at about 50% HP, she will use her ultimate ability, Aerial Blast. The ability deals massive amount of damage to your entire party. The amount of damage dealt depends on the number of stone pillars kept alive.

*Keep stone pillars alive to reduce the damage of Garuda's ult.

Phase 2 begins after Garuda uses her ult.
Abilities
Downburst is an instant frontal cleave that deals a moderate amount of damage to all players in front of Garuda.

Friction is an instant ranged attack that will damages a random player and all players near him. It also damages the stone pillars.

Wicked Wheel is an instant AoE attack that damages all players around Garuda for moderate amount of damage. It also damages stone pillars.

Slipstream is a frontal column spell that deals large amount of damage and stuns the targets hit. While it does not show up as a ground indicator, it can still be dodged.

Mistral Song allows Garuda to vanish and reappear on one side of the room, firing a blast of wind through the area. The ability does very heavy damage to all targets in her line of sight. Players need to hide behind stone pillars to avoid the damage.

Mistral Shriek allows Garuda to vanish and reappear in the middle of the room, firing a blast of wind through the area. The ability does very heavy damage to all targets in her line of sight. Players need to hide behind stone pillars to avoid the damage.

Aerial Blast is Garuda's signature ability. At around half health, she teleports to the center of the room and casts this ability. The damage you and your party members take depends on how damaged the stone pillars are. The more damaged the stone pillars are, the more damage you will take. Phase 2 starts after she uses this ability.

Adds
Razor Plume is summoned by Garuda in groups. While they will only deal a small amount of damage to the players, these Plumes will damage the stone pillars if they are kept alive.

Phase 2
In the second phase, 3 tornadoes (Great Whirlwind) spawns in the boss room. Players caught within the tornadoes will take massive amounts of damage. The tank should shift from the north position into a north-west position, while the ranged classes all stack on the wall directly to the West. You should end up in this arrangement. This will allow the Great Whirlwinds to appear harmlessly around everyone, as well as create a section for the adds to be tanked in.

After a short time, Garuda will vanish and re-spawns at the south part of the room along with 2 adds, Suparna and Chirada. These adds have similar abilities as Garuda. Tanks should tank these adds away from rest of the party to avoid Slipstream hitting everyone. One of the adds will have a green beam linked to Garuda while the other add will have a red beam linked to Garuda. Players must kill the add with the green beam ASAP because the add will heal Garuda when its alive. Players should use cooldowns if necessary. Afterwards players should kill the add with red beam. The off-tank should grab the add with the red beam and tank it facing away from the group at this position. The main tank can also pick this add up if you're only running with one tank. This will be the heaviest damage during the encounter. One healer should focus on keeping the main tank alive through Garuda's increased damage while the other focuses on the large amount of AoE healing needed from Friction and Wicked Wheel hitting so many players.

Once both adds are brought down, the tornadoes will start to fade. As soon as the northern whirlwind fades, the tank needs to run along the wall to the north-east side of the room. The whirlwinds will start to rotate, forcing the group to move clockwise around the room. During this time, a group of Razor Plumes and a single Satin Plume will spawn. DPS should kill the Satin Plume as quickly as possible to avoid the sleep debuff. The Razor Plumes are easy to heal through, so ignore them in favor of more DPS on Garuda. Once you reach the East side of the room, the whirlwinds will fade completely and everyone should move to the middle of the room to prepare for Eye of the Storm.

While in the middle of the room, Garuda will vanish again, reappearing in the South with Suparna and Chirada spawning on the East and West sides of the room. Each of these adds should be tanked on the edge they come in at, with the main tank on Garuda (south), the off-tank on the add with a red beam (east or west) and all the DPS on the green beam add (East or West). This leaves the healers either in the middle or on the North edge, free to heal up everyone.

Once the adds have been finished off and Eye of the Storm fades, all the ranged players should move directly South, with the tank should move to the south-west position. More tornadoes will spawn, which will start to rotate as more plumes spawn. Once again focus the Satin Plume down and ignore the rest. You will rotate around the room until you're roughly in the same position you started Phase 2 at. She will vanish, spawning one last set of adds. Use Meteor, the level 3 limit break, to nearly kill both of them instantly and finish off Garuda. If she is not almost dead at this point, either DPS is too low overall or the add with the green beam has not been killed quickly enough each time and healed Garuda too much.

While it does not shot up as a ground indicator, it can still be dodged.

Great Whirlwind is a giant tornado that deals massive amount of damage to any players caught within.

Eye of the Storm is ability used by Garuda at the start of the second phase. This ability creates a whirlwind with an opening at the center of the room. Players must stay in the center of the room to avoid the extremely heavy damage from the swirling wind. The effect persists for the rest of the fight.

Adds
Razor Plume deals small amount of damage to random players.

Satin Plume casts the debuff Sleep on the entire party.

Suparna has similar abilities as Garuda. It can link to Garuda with a red beam which increases Garuda's damage. It can also link to Garuda with a green beam which heals her. Additionally it will cast Mistral Shriek if left alive for too long.

Chirada has similar abilities as Garuda. It can link to Garuda with a red beam which increases Garuda's damage. It can also link to Garuda with a green beam which heals her. Additionally it will cast Mistral Shriek if left alive for too long.

Add priority:

Satin Plume > Razor Plume

Chirada or Suparna with green beam > Chirada or Suparna with red beam

__TOC__

Unlock
Players must be level 50 and must have completed the following:

Main Scenario Quest
* The Ultimate Weapon

Sidequest
* A Recurring Problem

*Inner Radiant Plumes
*Eruption (should be stunned)
*Zone wide Radiant plumes (safe spot is behind Ifrit)
*Followed by Dashes. Left Ifrit always dashes first. (3 Ifrits)
