[[Machinist]]s are mechanicians specialized into building all sorts of mechanical equipment to use in battle. Their prowess excelled in such a way that they're ranked amongst the defense bodies of [[Ishgard]], and join the fray along knights to defend their homeland with their turrets, cannons, and many other deadly inventions.

=== Unlock ===
Machinist is a [[heavensward]] [[job]] introduced in 2014 Fan Fest in Tokyo, featuring a turret-deploying mechanician who wields a [[firearm]]. It has a few requirements in order to be unlocked:
* '''Prerequisite:''' The player must have purchased the Heavensward expansion, and must have completed all of the [[Seventh Astral Era Quests]] up to [[Before the Dawn]] in order to unlock the city of [[Ishgard]].
* '''Quest''': Speak to an NPC in [[The Pillars]] (x15,y10) to obtain the quest [[Savior of Skysteel]].

=== Equipment ===
The machinist is a disciple of war and wears [[leather armor]]. They use [[firearm]]s as weapons. The following crafting [[class]]es can create items that are useful to the machinist:
