*Sezul appears concerned for the well-being of one of his crew.

*Concerned that his crew's mechanical engineer has not returned from his task of gathering engine component materials, Sezul looks to you to locate the missing Ixal. Make your way south and search Alder Springs for Bozol Edual the Exact.

*You find the missing Bozol Edual in Alder Springs, the exhausted Ixal cradling what appears to be a broken arm. No sooner has Bozol warned you to leave, however, when his tormentors─a group of Ixal from the logging grounds─appear to further threaten and taunt him. Wary of your presence, perhaps, the fanatics withdraw after pronouncing an ominous ultimatum. Speak with Bozol, and listen to the unfortunate engineer's tale.

*After explaining that his injury has rendered him unable to complete his task, Bozol requests that you craft the engine component in his stead. Visit the crafting facility at Treespeak Stables, and present the component materials to Nellemond.

*You have handed over the component materials to Nellemond, and gained access to the crafting facility. Synthesize a high-quality propulsion engine component, and deliver it to Sezul Totoloc at Ehcatl. ※In the event that the status Facility Access: Finishing wears off or the synthesis ends in failure, you may try again by speaking with Nellemond.

*You have delivered the propulsion engine component to Sezul. The Ehcatl Nine leader is thankful for your efforts, but laments the delay caused by his chief designer's injury. Upon hearing of this predicament, Tataramu offers to shoulder Bozol's duties, and convinces Sezul that his dedication to the project is genuine. Sezul accepts both you and Tataramu as official members of his crew, and exhorts you to continue working towards the completion of the Dezul Qualan.

*After explaining the need for certain notoriously difficult-to-acquire materials, Tataramu reluctantly asks that you deliver a letter to an acquaintance of his. Visit the airship ticket counter in Gridania, and ask Hida where you might find a gentleman by the name of Colson.

*Upon hearing of your wish to deliver a letter from "Master Tataramu," an obviously shocked Hida demands that you make haste to the headquarters of the Gods' Quiver and submit a report. Speak with Chansteloup at his post outside of Quiver's Hold.

*Chansteloup brushes aside your attempt to speak with him, claiming to be fully occupied with solving an important missing persons case. The agitated Quiverman does, however, confirm Colson's presence within Quiver's Hold. Head inside, and deliver the letter to Tataramu's acquaintance.

*After delivering the letter to Advisor Colson, you learn that Tataramu is actually the "missing" son of Highwind Skyways chairman Tatabaru. Though vexed by the unapologetic nature of Tataramu's brief missive, Colson nevertheless agrees to cover the costs for the young Lalafell's requested materials. Take the promissory note and hand it to Hildeyerd at the Fallgourd Float crafting facility.

*You hand the promissory note to Hildeyerd, and receive what the workshop supervisor describes as a set of lavishly expensive materials. Use the facility to craft a high-quality engine jointing component, then deliver your handiwork to Tataramu.

*You have delivered the engine jointing component to Tataramu. * With the construction of a new lathe in mind, Sezul has tasked you with obtaining a high-grade gearwheel. Speak with your fellow featherless one, Tataramu, and see if he has any ideas on where to begin your search.
** ※Please note that the difficulty of this quest has been synced to your current level.

* While discussing the subject of lathes, Tataramu recalls that just such a tool was used in his grandfather's workshop years ago. The eager designer reasons that Colson, a veteran Skyways employee, would know better than any what became of his grandsire's tools. Head to the Carline Canopy in Gridania, and track down Tataramu's aged acquaintance.

* After explaining your predicament to Colson, the old man casts his mind back to the days when he first worked with Tataramu's grandfather. Though the company founder's original workshop has long since been dismantled, Colson suggests that you approach one of the old hands at the Bobbing Cork and ask if anything remains of Tatanora's tools. Travel to Fallgourd Float, and speak with Aeluuin.

* You question Aeluuin about the lathe, but the inn worker appears unaware that such a workshop ever existed in Fallgourd. He does, however, mention a pile of old, unclaimed goods that have been gathering dust in the inn's storeroom. Search through the stack of antiques by the side of the Bobbing Cork, and check for any abandoned lathe parts.

* Tataramu appears just as you locate the lathe gearwheel, having finally remembered where his grandfather's workshop used to be. Checking over the precious part, the young man notices a dedication written by his grandfather inscribed on its surface. Return to Ehcatl and hand the gearwheel to Sezul.

* You deliver the gearwheel to Sezul, and the Ehcatl Nine chief confirms that the “Dezul Qualan” in the dedication is the same Ixal for whom he named the hybrid airship. It would appear that Sezul's mentor and Tataramu's grandsire had forged a friendship based on their mutual passion for aeronautics. Both Chief Totoloc and Tataramu cannot help but feel the guiding hand of fate in their growing partnership...

*You attempt to speak with Gerolt, but the groaning artisan seems aggressively disinclined to hear your request. Present the component materials to Drake, Gerolt's sympathetic apprentice, and explain the task you have in mind.

*After listening to your request, Drake contrives a plan to help you ensnare his suffering master's attention. Craft four high-quality helm components from the materials returned to you by the apprentice, and then shove your inspiring handiwork right under Gerolt's nose.
**※In the event that the status Facility Access: Production wears off or the synthesis ends in failure, you may try again by speaking with Drake.

*You present your helm components to Gerolt. Impressed and intrigued by the quality of your work, the master weaponsmith rouses himself from his slump and promises to forge the remainder of the steering mechanism. Return to Ehcatl and report to Tataramu.

*You return to Ehcatl and report your success to Tataramu, who is overjoyed with Gerolt's involvement in the project.
