==Journal==
*Urianger appears to be tallying the Loporrits in preparation for an imminent departure.

*With all Loporrits present and accounted for, Urianger insists that the group return to Sharlayan Hamlet, so as to be ready when the time comes to take flight. Seeing the wisdom in this, they reluctantly agree, despite their niggling curiosity about every aspect of Etheirys.

*An overwhelmed Growingway is distressed by how the Loporrits' efforts to create a hospitable environment pale in comparison to your star's natural beauty. As he bemoans his failure to complete his life's duty, Thancred arrives and mentions that Labyrinthos's people are feeling none too confident about their own work. Recognizing an opportunity to address both issues, Urianger suggests that Growingway offer counsel to one such researcher based on his expertise in constructing lunar environments─and the Loporrit hesitantly says that he will try.

*The troubled researcher doubts whether his design for the ship's gravitational systems is good enough to keep its contents and passengers anchored throughout the exodus. Happily, Growingway has a number of insights to offer on this matter, and the pair are soon engaged in deep conversation. With one success now assured, Urianger asks that you seek out additional distressed souls who might benefit from the Loporrits' counsel.

*You speak with a number of Sharlayan Hamlet's residents, who show varying degrees of distress over the impending crisis. Those who stand to find reassurance in the Loporrits' experience are sent to Urianger, to be paired with appropriate members of the delegation.

*Urianger is pleased by the number of people who have turned up to receive counsel, and asks that you wait and see how the Loporrits get on. Your presence is sure to encourage them.

*Thanks to Urianger's skill in pairing the right Loporrit with the right person, many are soon joyfully engaged in conversation with Sharlayans. To his surprise, however, the next to arrive seeking assistance are Wilfsunn and Bloewyda─father and mother to none other than the dearly departed Moenbryda. Overcome by emotion, Urianger has naught but stammered apologies to offer them at first, though it soon transpires that they do not blame him in the least for their daughter's death, and have in fact been worrying over him much as they would their own child since they fell out of touch. At last, Urianger tearfully accepts Bloewyda's embrace, and affirms that he can feel Moenbryda's spirit with him, even now.

*Urianger insists that he is fine, and in fact feels grateful to have met Wilfsunn and Bloewyda again now that he has come into his own alongside his fellow Scions. Moenbryda would surely smile to see the man he has become.

Estinien:
* They want only to brood in silence. To be left alone with their grief until time itself comes to an end.
* The sole reward for senseless bloodshed. A pain I understand...and wish that I did not.
* What fools we were...
* But now isn't the time for such thoughts.
* The others will want to hear what we've learned. Come.

Alphinaud:
* Were you able to establish any meaningful contact with the dragons?
* I see... They wish to escape what they perceive to be a cycle of conflict.
* Thank you, Player. Estinien.
* As for our part, I believe we are more acutely aware of our confines than before...
* We started by traversing the perimeter of the island, to see if there might be a path leading off of it. Sadly, there was nothing to be found.

Estinien:
* There's no small amount of debris floating about. Could there be enough to serve as a bridge to lead us elsewhere?

Alphinaud:
* I considered that, and so I tried throwing a stone onto a potential platform to judge its integrity...
* But it never reached its mark. As it crossed an invisible threshold just beyond the boundaries of this island, it vanished, only to reappear above me, and fall at my feet. I would not be too quick to presume that what we see outside this space is as it appears.

Alisaie:
* Which is why I returned to the Ragnarok, and asked the Loporrits to search for a potential path.
* However, the ship's instruments failed to provide conclusive data on the surrounding area. Until we know more, I think it too risky to attempt flying to another island.

G'raha Tia:
* What Meteion told us before─that emotions dictate reality here─might be the key. But I'm not entirely sure what emotion might manifest a bridge to lead us to safety.

Estinien:
* So what you're saying is, we've no way forward.

Y'shtola:
* At present, aye. If it is indeed emotion that governs this island, perhaps it is not Meteion's, but the dragons' that holds us here.
* They tire of conflict, and have chosen a path of oblivion to escape it.
* Or rather, they have chosen no path at all. Meaning there is no way for the dragons, or anyone here on this island, to advance.

G'raha Tia:
* A sound theory, disheartening though it may be.

Alphinaud:
* If that is the case, what recourse do we have? They are not like to be persuaded to help us.
* Their reasoning is built on a history of turmoil and strife. Without irrefutable proof the future is not as bleak as they believe it to be...

Y'shtola:
* Mayhap persuasion is not the answer.
* Meteion meant to unmake us then and there on the Ragnarok, and she would have succeeded if not for Thancred's determination.
* She conceded it was strong enough to overpower the despair that otherwise rules Ultima Thule, and reshape it to a degree. Perhaps it can be done again in like manner─by overpowering the prevailing emotions.

Urianger:
* 'Twas Ultima Thule's architect, Meteion herself, against whom Thancred did pit himself in a clash of wills. Though I marked no leader among them, as such, I did chance to encounter a dragon possessed of despair far more potent than most. Potent enough, mayhap, to dictate the course for others─and thus, their domain, to follow.
* He spoke but few words, carefully chosen, their tone and timber alone threatening to rend my heart in twain. Challenging his desire to remain may allow us to alter the island upon which we stand.
* Alas, I fear my vaunted rhetoric availed me naught against his calcifying heart. But mayhap one of you will fare better...?
* Then I shall guide thee. Al End, they call him, in the dragon tongue. Thou wilt find him nearby, eyes fixed upon the water.

Alisaie:
* Well, what have we to lose? Let's get going.

Urianger:
* He remaineth as he was when I first approached. Entombed in melancholy.

Alphinaud:
* I see... Perhaps I could─

Estinien:
* I'll handle this.
* So. Waiting to die like all the others, are you?

Al End:
* Aye. Our pride is crushed, and our souls corrupted. The winds are stilled, and the heavens offer no comfort.
* There is nothing left for our kind. Our long lives a curse as we await the end. Still as stone we shall become...

Estinien:
* So you say, yet your kind has found a new beginning on our star.
* One of you braved the expanse, bearing with him a clutch of eggs. They and their children now rule our skies, their song heard by all.

Al End:
* Our kin...on another star?
* And yet...upon thee do I smell the blood of my brethren.
* Were they drawn into discord and war on their new home?

Estinien:
* They were. They suffered much, and repaid their suffering in kind.

Al End:
* It mattereth not whither we fly.
* Ever will a sanguine ocean await us. Ever will retribution's wheel turn.
* And so, on the last of my pride as a dragon, I break free of this wheel.
* I renounce conflict! Exile myself from the other, never again to be touched by the flames of hatred!

Estinien:
* Had your brethren made the selfsame choice, my family might still be alive.
* Yet lasting peace does not come to those who simply retreat from conflict.
* No, you must be willing to confront it. To stare into the face of your foe...and see yourself in him.
* Only then can you break the cycle of torment and tragedy. This lesson, a dear friend taught me at the risk of his life.
* There is no nobility in your “penance.” You wallow in self-pity.
* And after everything we've endured, we will not let you stop us!

Alphinaud:
* Estinien!

Estinien:
* Stay back!
* I see... Theirs is the emotion that bars our way.
* The rest is up to you.

Alisaie:
* No... Not Estinien too...

G'raha Tia:
* There's a wind...

Alphinaud:
* He's opened the way for us...
* Sacrificed himself to remake this place, like Thancred did...

Alisaie:
* Oh, Alphinaud...

Alphinaud:
* Come...let us follow the wind. It will not lead us astray. He would not.
* Look there! The wind...
* This is Estinien's doing. I'm sure of it. We should ride its flow, and see where it leads.
* He...he did it. He found a way forward for us.
* The dragons remain trapped within a prison of their own making, lamenting the horrors of war. Yet Estinien knew them better than most.
* He was a man of honor and a dear friend, willing to fight to the very end for what he believed was right...

Alisaie:
* And he's still fighting, Alphinaud. Just like Thancred.
* Their sacrifices are why we can survive here. Why we still have a chance to stop her.
* Even in spirit, they're unwilling to give in to despair, and we mustn't either.

Y'shtola:
* Alisaie is right. We must press on. For their sake...

==Journal==
*Ronitt appears to have something in his eye. You cannot be certain because of his helmet, but it may be a twinkle.

*The next essential piece of the Rolling Tankard prototype is its cannon, though Ronitt is unsure how best to proceed. He comes to the conclusion that utilizing condensed aether should prove effective in combating sin eaters, although this is a field in which none of the dwarves present have any experience. Regitt recommends seeking the advice of Lorathia, who was once an engineer at the Crystarium.

※Please note that the difficulty of this quest has been synced to your current level. Furthermore, you may not proceed with a class or job that is different from when you accepted this quest.

*Ronitt arrives in Clearmelt to ask Lorathia whether she has any knowledge of aether-based weaponry. Fate conspires once again to bless him with outrageous fortune when Lorathia reveals she is in fact the very person who designed the crystal cannons that line the Crystarium. However, rather than go into any further details regarding this, Lorathia instead invites you to a tea party with her two friends, Iriolva and Cobleva. These elderly twins own merchant caravans that deliver goods across Norvrandt, and they are looking for a way to fend off sin eaters. Lorathia points out that this is an opportunity for Ronitt to secure buyers for his tanks, although his lack of social decorum requires that you be on hand to guide him through this informal exchange.

*The tea party ends with both twins expressing a keen interest in Ronitt's creations, although they will need to see the final product in action before they commit to a purchase.

*Lorathia gives you a letter of introduction to speak with Rosard in the Crystarium. She is confident he can assist in designing the tank's cannon, though it is still unclear whether you will need to jump through any more proverbial hoops before he agrees to help.

*Rosard is eager to support you and Ronitt in your endeavors, and provides you with the blueprints to the Crystarium's crystal cannons. While your dwarven companion is taken aback by the unexpected show of generosity, Rosard explains that he is acting in accordance with Lorathia's wishes, as stated in her letter.

*Back at Watts's Anvil, Ronitt asks you to craft some of the cannon's components, as described in the blueprints. As before, his automaton somehow has the exact materials required stored in its metallic belly, though this miraculous ability to produce precisely what is needed at any given moment should come as no surprise by now.

*With the necessary materials at your disposal, you are ready to fulfill Ronitt's order. But will your attempt to assist Ronitt end in triumph or bitter failure?

*Mastery of your craft has ensured you seized victory rather than bitter defeat. As is customary, Ronitt downplays your achievement, though delight is clear on his face. Or would be, if one could see it. Although the prototype Rolling Tankard is ready for its first test run, Ronitt will still require your aid with other miscellaneous tasks in preparation for the next stage of his master plan: mass production.
*Your reputation precedes you, if the wide-eyed look the stranger is favoring you with is any indication.

*While passing through Idyllshire you find yourself accosted by a boisterous stranger, who marks you as a notorious adventurer prone to picking fights with gods. Though he claims to admire your “work,” he observes that, because you do not undertake such trials by yourself, it must be difficult to tell if you are pulling your weight. He too has such worries, which is why he has been training in Stone, Sky, Sea─a new training ground of some repute, of which a goodly adventurer outside Idyllshire can tell you more.

*Although he stumbles more than a few times in his explanation, the guide tells you that the new training ground, which was opened by the Adventurers' Guild, offers a variety of striking dummies which are tailored to the strength of certain legendary beings. By defeating these dummies in the allotted time, you can determine whether or not you have the potential to go toe-to-toe with said beings─that is, if you can survive their onslaught, for unlike their real-life counterparts, the dummies do not hit back...
