Flavor Text
A behavior learned from certain species of coeurl, the caster rises to the challenge of losing comrades by tapping into a feral survival instinct. When all seems lost, or when simply treading where a lone mage was not meant to tread, unrestrained ferocity is sometimes the only way to win through
*Master Coeurl uses this immediately. Wait for it to finish casting before slaying it. May take a few tries.
*Coeurl Smriti casts it if both Coeurls don't die together.

Other Tips
* Casting a debuff such as Addle or Off-guard will grab a enemy's attention without dealing damage.
* When combined with Mighty Guard, this spell is one of the best ways to solo dungeons for those in need of spells.

__NOTOC__
Strategy
Goldor deals a fair amount of unavoidable damage, so Aetherial Mimicry: Healer, along with Pom Cure and/or Exuviation is highly recommended. DoTs such as Song of Torment also help whittle down his HP while you're avoiding mechanics.

Act 1
Goldor Blizzard III: Must be interrupted, as this deals heavy damage and inflicts deep freeze Deep Freeze, resulting in a KO from Goldor Fire III.

Goldor Fire III: A large AoE attack appears, centered around you. Similar to Gogo's Mimicked Sap, this will create three more AoEs in succession.

Goldor Blast: Line AoE on the player.

Slimy Summon: Summons a Glittering Slime vulnerable to ice damage. If it is not killed, it will cast Rupture, killing the player. It can be quickly dispatched with The Ram's Voice + Ultravibration.

Goldor Quake: A circle AOE centered on himself, followed by two staggered donut AOEs centered on himself.

Goldor Fire: Summons 8 Ball of Fire adds that will cast Burn. These are vulnerable to wind damage. Kill one, then stand where you will be knocked back to the safe area you created. The first time this is cast, Goldor will use Goldor Blast, and subsequent casts will use Goldor Thunder.

Goldor Aero III: Used after Goldor Fire. Knocks back the player.

Goldor Gravity: Inflicts Heavy Heavy on the player for 12 seconds that cannot be removed with Exuviation. Follows up with two casts of Goldor Blast. Use Loom to get out of the way.

Goldor Thunder III: Summons circle AoEs randomly and inflicts Electrocution Electrocution that can be removed with Exuviation.

Act 2
Goldor will use many moves from Act 1, but will also utilize his crystal for new moves.

Shining Summon: Uses the crystal to summon untargetable gilded constructs. The first three times he casts this, he will summon the following:
* 4x Gilded Golem: Casts Golden Cross, which will summon lane AoEs in a checkerboard pattern. Goldor will also cast Goldor Aero III.
* 4x Gilded Marionette: Casts Golden Beam, creating unavoidable arena-wide cone AoEs. These deal a lot of damage, and can only be survived with Diamondback, but getting hit by all four is not survivable. Goldor will also cast Goldor Quake.
* 1x Gilded Cyclops: Casts 24-carat Inhale, then 24-carat Swing. Goldor will also cast Goldor Thunder III.

Gold Fever: Becomes invulnerable to magical damage and deals increased magical damage, but makes the Gilded Crystal targetable. It is also invulnerable to magical damage, so bring some physical damage spells. Break the crystal to remove Goldor's buffs, or continue the act with entirely physical damage spells without damaging the crystal if you want the "Going for Gold" feat.

Goldor uses Shining Summon again, this time summoning four Gilded Golems, a Gilded Marionette, and a Gilded Cyclops. Goldor will then use Goldor Blast three times, then follow up with Goldor Gravity.

Goldor Rush: Casts Goldor Aero III, Goldor Thunder III (minus the debuff this time), and Goldor Quake at the same time. He quickly follows this with three casts of Goldor Blast.

After this, the rest of the act is repeating Shining Summon, Goldor Gravity, and Goldor Rush.

The Masked Carnivale is a series of solo combat challenges for Blue Mage Blue Mages that is unlocked as part of the Blue Mage Job Quests. Many battles are optional, but some are required to progress in job quests.
How to Participate
Stages
The Masked Carnivale is comprised of 32 stages in total. You can view a list of all available stages by speaking with the Celestium attendant. Stages do not need to be completed in numerical order. Many stages consist of multiple separate battles (Acts), although completing an Act does not grant a checkpoint. Note that dying will fail the duty and remove the player from the instance.

Be advised that once you begin a stage, you cannot register or remove active actions.

All stages are level synced and it is not possible to "unsync" any.

The first 25 stages are unlocked with feature. Subsequent stages are unlocked with further progression (every 10 levels) of blue mage job quests.

Enemy Weaknesses
Many enemies that appear in the Masked Carnivale are weak to a particular element, which can be confirmed when viewing the list of stages. Use this to your advantage and set your actions accordingly.

The elemental weakness of enemies is also indicated by an icon above their display names.

Results
After completing a performance, your clear time, bonuses, and score are displayed.

Bonuses are awarded for fulfilling certain conditions and affect the score.

Weekly Targets
There are three levels of difficulty for weekly targets: novice (blue), moderate (white), and advanced (gold).

To view the conditions, select a performance with a weekly target, marked with an icon. This information can also be viewed in the Timers menu.
*Starting NPC: Martyn
*prerequisite: Complete the blue mage quest Blue in the Face and learn the blue magic spell ???

The Blue Mage Log tab will be added to the Blue Magic Spellbook interface upon completing the requisite quest.

Using the Blue Mage Log
With the requisite number of party members playing as blue mage, register for a duty with Undersized Party disabled. Upon entering the instance, a message will display confirming you meet the requirements of the blue mage log.

Completing Log Entries
Opening the Blue Mage Log tab of the spellbook will display a list of available duties separated into three categories: dungeons, trials, and raids.

Upon clearing these duties while meeting all duty requirements, they will be marked as complete.

<!--

PLEASE READ BEFORE EDITING OR USING THIS AS A TEMPLATE TO MAKE ANOTHER PATCH PAGE:

- Create patch pages for major base patches only, that is, for patch 6.1, but not for subpatches like 6.11, 6.15, or 6.18. Subpatch specific notes should be included on the main patch page (Subpatch-specific sections may be added if desired), not as their own separate page.

- Write the main story summary section at the bottom of the page, so players who have not reached that point and do not wish to see spoilers can stop reading when they reach that section.

- If the story summary (Particularly in an x.0 patch) needs to be broken up into chapters/subsections, the subsection titles should be level ranges or other non-spoiler descriptions, so spoilers won't appear in the table of contents.

- In trailers and other promotional materials, the "canonical" Warrior of Light is depicted as a Midlander Hyur male. Therefore the Warrior of Light should be referred to using the pronouns he/him in the Main Story Summary section.

- For x.0 patches (That is, the patch that starts a new expansion), keep the article about new features introduced specifically with the x.0 patch itself, or any of its subpatches. Features that are added later in the expansion should not be included. Use the page for the patch in which the feature was introduced, or the expansion page itself for that. For example, the Ishgardian Restoration was announced as a Shadowbringers feature, but was introduced in patch 5.1 and should not be mentioned on the patch 5.0 page.

Flavor Text
Employed to great effect by a certain godlike machine, the concentrated heat that comprises Perpetual Ray has the capacity to deaden nerve endings and sever links between mind and muscle. By directing the beam with particular finesse, the savvy mage can render a foe entirely immobile.
Other Tips
* Ignoring Stun resistance does not mean it can stun even targets immune to stun. Instead, Perpetual Ray always stuns for 1s regardless of how many times a target has been stunned before, unlike other player actions such as Low Blow.

PLEASE READ BEFORE EDITING OR USING THIS AS A TEMPLATE TO MAKE ANOTHER PATCH PAGE:

- Create patch pages for major base patches only, that is, for patch 6.2, but not for subpatches like 6.21, 6.25, or 6.28.

- DO NOT simply copy and paste patch notes, story summaries, or other content directly from Square-Enix's official website. Please write your own summaries.
- Create patch pages for major base patches only, that is, for patch 6.2, but not for subpatches like 6.21, 6.25, or 6.28.

- DO NOT simply copy and paste patch notes, story summaries, or other content directly from Square-Enix's official website. Please write your own summaries.

Additional Information
It is highly recommended to have a full party (at least) to do this FATE due to the boss's HP. Tarasque periodically does a huge AoE (Dragon Stomp) that will kill most players. Stunning him will cancel it, but he will often use again right after. It is recommended to run to the out edges (behind rocks) to mitigate. It may be possible to unsync right before the stomp hits, or have an unsynced shield healer shielding others before it goes off. If a Blue Mage with Perpetual Ray is present, the it is possible to keep Tarasque in an endless stun loop as it attempts to recast the spell.

Trivia
Tarasque is a dragon in French mythology.
Strategy
This fight is all about reacting to mechanics that repeat in each phase and mitigating heavy-hitting attacks. This fight has a hard 14 minute enrage so players need to handle the fight as quickly as possible. The boss doesn't have very complex attacks so learning them well will be the key to success.

Before the fight begins players need to set a marker somewhere in the arena to denote where players with a specific marker will stack to split damage.

Once the boss is engaged, the edge around the arena becomes an instant-kill upon

Phase 1: 100%-76%
To begin the fight players should pull the boss to the south wall of the arena.
*Flare Breath: A large frontal cleave on the primary target. Be sure to turn the boss away from the party for this. This attack is usually paired with other attacks.

*Megaflare: 3-4 players are marked with ground AoEs. 3-4 other players will be hit with a splash damage AoE, and 2-4 players are marked for a beam that must be split by other marked players to mitigate the damage. Players with a marker should stack at the predetermined location. The boss will follow this with a Flare Breath.

*Flatten: A heavy damage tankbuster. Requires mitigation to survive.

*Earth Shaker: Two players are tethered to the boss and marked with brown tethers. After a short delay, the tethered players will have a line fired at them that hits anything between them. The players will also drop three puddles each. To handle this, players who are tethered should move to the left and right of the boss and slowly move around the arena to avoid cleaving the party and drop the puddles around the edge. These puddles will persist for a while, so players should avoid standing in them.

This phase will repeat until the boss reaches 76% HP. players should push this phase as hard as possible to give more time later to handle other phases. It is also recommended that players use a DPS Limit Break level 1 to push the phase and also have a tank Limit Break level 3 for a later phase.

At 76% the boss will cast Gigaflare, an unavoidable room-wide attack. Mitigate and heal through the damage.

Phase 2: 76%-52%
* Shadow of Meracydia: After the Gigaflare cast fades a Shadow of Meracydia spawns in the north of the arena. If it gets too close to the boss, they will link and begin buffing each other. If the boss was pulled to the south, the off tank can grab the add and keep it in the north to avoid this. The other Adds will also spawn away from the boss, minimizing the chances of them tethering together.

:Players should focus on the add, as if it's not killed quickly, it will fire a line of puddles at a player, severely restricting how freely players can move.

* Flare Star: At the same time the Shadow of Meracydia spawns, the boss will summon orbs to tether to players that move slowly at first, then will speed towards the player they are tethered to. If a player is hit by an orb, they will take damage and receive a stack of the debuff Suffocated Will. This debuff will deal more damage when applied based on how many stacks a player already has. Non-tank players should not receive more than 2 stacks, as the damage will be lethal after that. Communication is required between players to note who has orbs tethered to them and who needs someone to take their tether.

:The boss will follow up with a Flatten, one cast of Flare Breath and Megaflare mechanics. This time however, the Megaflare will spawn a pillar from one of its AoEs, which will explode and wipe the raid if not dealt with. A single player must stand in the AoE and soak the damage instead, preventing the wipe.

* Rage of Bahamut: Deals damage based on how many stacks of Suffocated Will a player has. Healers should be ready for raid-wide healing after this.
From here the phase repeats, an add will spawn in the southeast and west and the mechanics will keep repeating until the boss reaches 52% HP. At this time the boss will cast another Gigaflare and leave the arena.

Phase 3: Adds
* Divebomb: Players should move to the center of the room immediately after the boss leaves the arena. It will appear at the edge of the arena and mark a random player with a red circle above their head. This indicates the boss will charge from where it is to the other side of the arena, passing through where the marked player was standing. A Storm of Meracydia will spawn at the edge as well and mark a player with a green marker, indicating the same thing. Once these markers go out, players know the boss and the add will charge through the center of the arena in a straight line, creating safe zones. Once the green marker comes up players can move to those safe zones to avoid the attack. Be aware that the paths of the attacks are rather wide, so move sufficiently into safe zones. The boss will follow this up with a Megaflare, thus it is important to not stack in the chaos of dodging the divebomb. It's wise to have half the players dodge the divebomb to the right and the other half to the left (of looking at Bahamut from the middle) to give space for each player to spread.

*Adds will spawn after this, a Pain of Meracydia and a Blood of Meracydia. The off tank should pull the Pain to the west of the room, while the main tank grabs the Blood and the party quickly burns it down. The Blood of Meracydia will switch between a buff that mitigates physical damage and magic damage. Players should pay attention to which buff the boss has up and try to line bursts up with these buffs. The Pain of Meracydia has a strong cleave attack that needs to be pointed away from the party and uses Tail Swipe, attacking behind it. Avoid this by attacking from its side as much as possible and being careful with positionals.

*Gusts of Meracydia will also spawn. The tank that grabbed the Blood should grab these, as if they get too close to the Pain, they will be absorbed, and it will receive HP back and a Damage Up buff.

:After the Pain and Blood are finished off, 2 Sins of Meracydia will spawn. These Adds hit hard and should be defeated quickly. Each tank should grab them and pull them into the center of the arena to be burned down by AoE attacks. At roughly 20 seconds after spawning, they will cast Evil Eye, an attack that deals damage equal to their remaining HP. Shortly after this another round of Divebombs from the boss and the Storm of Meracydia. These should be handled the same way as the previous attack.

*Storm of Meracydia will spawn in the center of the room and should be pulled to the south of the room. The tank that does this will also grab the Gusts that spawn later. The other tank will pick up the rest of the Adds as they spawn and pull them over to where the Storm is to burn everything down efficiently. When the Pain respawns, keep it pulled away from the group until the Gusts are defeated. After the Storm is defeated, it will drop a Neurolink 2.0Puddle, which when stepped in greatly reduces damage dealt. It is essential that this add be defeated before the boss finishes its cast of Terraflare, as the Neurolink puddle debuffs with Flare Dampening, greatly mitigating the damage from this attack. To further mitigate this, if available, a tank should use their level 3 Limit Break at around 3 seconds of the cast remaining. Healers can also drop shields.

After the boss casts Terraflare, it will return and begin the final phase.

Phase 4: 52%-0%
The boss will use the following attacks: Flare Breath MegaFlare, Earthshaker and Gigaflare in this phase, each with a slight change to their mechanics; see below for details. The boss also adds a new ability to its repertoire.
*Akh Morn: A multi-hit tank buster. This attack also tethers to a player, and if they are in range of the blast, will split the damage of the attack. The off tank should pick this tether up and stand near the main tank for this attack. The first hit of Akh Morn will deal heavy damage, with each hit after dealing about half as much as the first. Every time the boss uses this attack, it will add an additional Akh Morn hit.

*Megaflare: The attack mechanics will happen as normal, however this time up to 2 pillars will spawn, each needing a player to stand in them and soak the damage. Players will also be tethered randomly and hit by Tempest Wing, a twister that deals moderate damage. If anyone else is hit by this, they are knocked back, take damage and receive a heavy damage over time debuff. This attack can knock players into the edge of the arena, spelling instant death for anyone who touches it. The off and main tank should pick up these tethers and subsequently stand far enough to not hit each other with the twisters. This is so that the originally targeted players can stack for megaflare if needed.

*Earthshaker: This attack behaves as normal however the boss will also tether the 2 players targeted with Earthshaker with Tempest Wing, causing twisters to spawn on them. Targeted players should not move into other players while the twister is active and healers should be ready to heal them. The boss also follows up with a Flare Breath immediately after. These mechanics will repeat from here.

:After every two rounds of the above rotation, the boss will use Gigaflare, and immediately follow up with Akh Morn so be ready move, mitigate and heal through this.

This repeats until the boss is either defeated or enrages. At its’ enrage, it casts a 15-second Gigaflare that will wipe the party.

:To avoid these mechanics, players should spread out as soon as the markers come out to avoid any unnecessary damage.

The Loom spell is a teleport ability with no cast time for Flame Sergeant Dalvag, so you'll never see it on his cast bar. If you just stand in melee range, he will never cast Loom.

To make him cast Loom, do the following:
* As he starts casting another ability, use this time to move away from him, out to 10-15 yalms. Once he finishes, he should teleport back into melee range of you, the teleport is him using Loom.
* Kill him after you see him use the teleport.

Another method is to engage Flame Sergeant Dalvag from range. If you are far enough, he will use Loom to start the fight.

Other Tips
* Loom is useful for a few Masked Carnivale fights when dodging wide AoE attacks.

Weather conditions can change in an instant in Eorzea and it's best to be prepared! Several activities in the game depend on the weather conditions. These include:

*Fishing: Several fish can only be caught during certain weather conditions and times of day. Examples include the Thunderbolt Sculpin, Raincaller, and Son of Levin.
*Sightseeing Log: Many of the sightseeing entries require certain weather conditions and specific times of day.
*Odin: Odin's FATE will only spawn when the weather condition in The Black Shroud is listed as Tension.

Major cities and some settlements have an NPC known as a Skywatcher. These NPCs can tell you the current and upcoming weather conditions for each zone in the game. One can also see the current weather condition of your current zone by hovering over the icon in the top-right corner of the minimap. Weather conditions change at 12:00 am, 8:00 am, and 04:00 pm Eorzean Time.
Journal
*Once again, Jullus has been entrusted with an unenviable task.

*Negotiations with the Ist Legion have failed, and Alphinaud and Alisaie have been taken as hostages. It has been decided that you will escort Jullus to Camp Broken Glass, where he will present the conditions for Alisaie and Alphinaud's release. Before that, however, he requests that you inform two of the soldiers charged with retrieving your contingent's supplies of your imminent departure. He also gives the rather cryptic instruction that his comrades “ask the iyl” for further details, although its meaning is entirely lost on you for the moment.

*The two soldiers give very different yet equally startling responses to the suggestion that they “ask the iyl,” and it is clear they know precisely what this entails. As neither appears willing to expound further on this riddle, your only choice is to glean the truth from Jullus himself.

*When pressed about his instructions to ask the iyl, Jullus remains tight-lipped. The only hint he gives is that, providing your allies agree to Quintus's demands, the true meaning will be of no relevance to you. While this is hardly reassuring, he reminds you that the two of you must cooperate to ensure the negotiations reach successful conclusion. He then asks that you wait for him at a location nearby that he wishes to visit on the way to Camp Broken Glass.

*After taking a brief detour past what remains of Jullus's home, you arrive at your camp. The negotiations have barely begun when you learn that Alphinaud and Alisaie have been freed by your comrades, depriving Quintus of his leverage. With the tables turned, Jullus and the other troops prepare to carry out their second set of orders by launching an attack on the Ilsabard contingent. Before any blood is spilled, however, you receive yet more surprising news. You learn that the Xth Legion─the reinforcements Quintus had been expecting─have instead agreed to a truce with the Grand Company of Eorzea. Quintus then commands his soldiers to comply with the Xth's wishes, thus ending the confrontation.

*Thanks to Lucia's calm handling of a perilous situation, as well as the political maneuvering of your allies at home, hostilities between the Ilsabard contingent and the Ist Legion have come to an end. However, the question of what lies ahead has yet to be answered.

Walkthrough
Trivia
* The quest name is Latin for "The die has been cast", and a reference to the famous quote attributed to Julius Caesar.
* In a Garlean hierarchy, an iyl refers to the "temporary leader appointed only in times of emergency, and given all rights of the lord emperor."

Aureole: Wide AOE attack where you're only safe on the boss' sides.
Lateral Aureole: Wide AOE attack where you're only safe in-front and behind the boss.

After the first Crystalize attack, the boss will use either Magos's Radiance or Mousa's Scorn, followed by a random Aureole, followed by a second Crystallize; after that, the boss will use whichever of Radiance and Scorn it hasn't used yet, followed by another random Aureole, followed by a third Crystallize. After that, the boss will transition into Phase 2.

Phase 2 (Crystals + Adds)
Crystal adds
* Hydaelyn summons 6 crystals - three on the north side of the arena, and three on the south.
* One set of three crystals will start glowing once the phase starts - the DPS and healers should prioritise attacking these crystals.

Echo of Hydaelyn adds
* Two Echo of Hydaelyn spawn - one on the east, one on the west. Each tank should pick up one and pull it to the other side of the arena from the glowing crystals.
* Each Echo will tether to the three closest crystals to it, and tethering to a living crystal causes the boss' Conviction meter to rise more quickly - the meter rises especially quickly when an Echo is tethered to a glowing crystal.
* Once all of the glowing crystals are dead, the tanks should move the Echoes to the other side of the arena while the last of the crystals are taken down; after all six crystals are destroyed, the Echoes can be killed, which causes Hydaelyn to cast Conviction.
* The Echoes have extremely powerful auto-attacks, so healers should make sure to keep the tanks topped off.

Conviction
* If the Conviction meter ever reaches 100, Hydaelyn will cast it and automatically wipe the raid; otherwise, this is cast at the end of the phase and deals heavy raid-wide damage.
* At max strength (99 Conviction) this deals about 25,000 damage; be sure to heal and mitigate as necessary.

Phase 3 (1st Lightwave)
Halo: Raid-wide AoE.

Lightwave:
* Spawns four crystals - three on either the north or south side of the arena, one on the opposite side.
* Two light waves will spawn on the side with three crystals - one in the center, and one on either the west or east side.
* The light waves will move across the arena, dealing damage to anyone who stands in them, and whenever they collide with a crystal, that crystal deals damage to anything within line of sight; this damage should be blocked by hiding behind another crystal.

Infralateral Arc: The boss casts this after two crystals have been hit by light waves; she cleaves in a cone targeting a random healer, tank, and DPS one after the other (not necessarily in that order). The healers, tanks, and DPSes should group up and each stand behind different crystals, to split up the damage from this attack and then have a crystal to hide behind for the next line of sight attack.

Lightwave: This Lightwave spawns five crystals, one in the center and one in each corner, as well as two light waves on the edges, with a third central wave in the same direction coming later. The first four collisions can be blocked by standing behind the central crystal; the fifth should be blocked by using the crystal in whichever corner is behind the boss.

Hero's Glory: The boss will use this attack twice during this phase, once before any of the collisions and one at the same time as the last one. The boss will cleave in front of her; make sure to be standing behind the boss.

Phase 4
After all of the light waves have dissipated, the boss will resume using mechanics from the first phase, but with a few additional ones:

Heros's Sundering: Tankbuster in the shape of a cone.

Parhelion/Subparhelion: Parhelion shoots out three sets of dancer chakrams in three directions that drop line AoEs from Hydaelyn, these will explode in the order they spawn. After this, Hydaelyn will cast a Water Crystallize, followed by Subparhelion, which causes those chakrams to shoot line AOEs that cover the entire arena. The Crystallize will resolve at the same time as the first Subparhelion, so make sure to be split into light parties, and be ready to run.

Parhelic Circle: Spawns a green snowflake-shaped symbol on the ground which will in turn spawn AoEs in the middle and at the tip of the lines. Avoid standing in the middle of this symbol or position yourself on the smaller lines so you dodge the circle AoEs.

Phase 5 (2nd Lightwave)
The boss will summon four light waves, two in each direction - one of those will be central, and one of those will be on the left or the right, leaving one corner as a safe zone.

Echoes:
* A stack marker that hits multiple hits, stay stacked until the mechanic is done.
* Afterwards she will place stack markers on the party, everyone but tanks should spread to avoid damage.
* Tanks stick together for a shared tankbuster.
* After Echoes resolves, four more light waves will spawn, leaving the center as a safe zone, and the boss will cast a Water Crystallize followed by a Shining Saber, the latter of which resolves first.

After this, the phase repeats, followed by the enrage.

Loot
*Each player will receive 1 Umbral Totem per kill. Collect 10 totems to exchange for a weapon at Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han (X:10.6 Y:10.0).
So it was that a casual mention of skyfishing helped Cid Garlond conceive a plan to lure out Bismarck, the Lord of the Mists, by using the Enterprise to tow an island through the Sea of Clouds. After binding the beast with chains fired from dragonkillers, he hopes you can engage it in the traditional fashion. Though the plan is somewhat sound in theory, there is no telling how effective it will be in practice.

Bismarck is a fairly unusual trial in that, for most of the fights player won't actually be damaging the primal itself, but rather dealing with all manner of adds. The fight itself takes place upon a floating rock which has its own separate HP bar, if this bar drops to around 24% then the raid will wipe. Players should also be wary of being knocked off of the edge of the platform. Before beginning the fight players should take note of the shield device, as well as the two harpoons on either side and should nominate a player to man each.

Phase 1
The fight begins with Bismarck instantly dealing a damaging blow to the platform as well as spawning two adds. Players should deal with the adds (which can cause knockback) while avoiding any AoEs. Periodically players will see Bismarck do a specific dive animation, this is the signal that the shield device should be activated as Bismarck is about to ram the platform. Failing to activate the shield device, or activating it too early, will lead to an increased amount of damage being taken by the platform.

After a set amount of time a message will appear stating that the harpoons are active, players should activate these as soon as possible, failing to do so will lead to Bismarck disabling them and leading to another cycle. Once both harpoons are active Bismarck will be chained to the side of the platform and its chitin will be targetable. Players can only cause damage to the chitin while physically on Bismarck, though this will also cause a DoT to appear on said players. Players should ideally destroy the chitin in one cycle (although two cycles is fine) as failing to destroy it quick enough will cause Bismarck to pull away and repeat its initial actions (adds, ramming the platform etc.).

Phase 2
Once its chitin has been destroyed Bismarck will pull away from the platform again and summon two larger adds. These should be dealt with quickly. At the same time tornadoes will appear, Bismarck will also periodically summon a set of exploding bubbles which players should avoid. After a certain amount of time or after both adds are killed, Bismarck will return and cast a raid wide AoE before once returning to the side of the platform. During this the shield device will also break, essentially setting a harder limit on how long the encounter can last. If any of the adds are still alive, this attack will most likely cause a wipe.

Phase 3
This functions largely like Phase 1, although Bismarck will summon four adds and without the shield generator the damage to the island cannot be reduced. With the chitin destroyed Bismarck can now be attacked directly when chained. The key mechanic in this phase is the two Water Vapor adds. Bismarck will alternate between thunder and rain in that order. When the weather is thunder, defeating the Vapor adds will result in a lightning attack striking a random player for heavy damage for each add destroyed. Conversely, if they are left alive, the lightning strike will instead attack the adds, destroying them. If players are stacked for the lightning attack, the combined damage will be fatal enough to potentially cause a wipe. If the adds are not defeated during the rain phase, they will get a Damage Up buff, increasing the power of their auto attacks substantially.
