* Astrid and Emilie tell you of their plans to serve giant cakes to guests at the Valentione's Day celebrations. A plan that has apparently hit a snag in cake production. Emissaries of love were dispatched to assess the situation at the pâtisserie and should be returning ere long. To that end, Astrid and Emilie invite you to meet them at the entrance to Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre.<br><br>※Please note that you will not be able to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, check the Lodestone.
* Kupka Kupp recounts the run-in with rampaging mammets, hells-bent on preventing cake completion. Well-practiced as you are in tasks that require a certain physical prowess, you agree to head to the pâtisserie and quell the confectionery crisis.
* You leave the mammets defeated but unbroken as you emerge from the pâtisserie. Astrid will no doubt be thrilled to hear of your success.
* With the finished confectionery being transported to Mih Khetto's amphitheatre, the festivities can soon get underway. And yet, Astrid cannot help but wonder what possessed the mammets to turn their ire on the pâtissiers. It seems as though Kupka Kupp may have an inkling.
* Upon closer observation, Kupka Kupp noticed traces of moogle magicks upon the mammets. The only other moogle who entered the pâtisserie should have been Kupna Kuko, who helped procure the fruit for the cakes. Kupka suggests asking him for further information, with your intimidating presence to help loosen any hesitant tongues. Giving your assent, you begin the search for Kupna Kuko by the Lancers' Guild.
* Kupna Kuko admits that the entire incident was a misguided attempt to help, with the moogle magicks intended to compel the mammets to work harder instead leading to dangerous malfunction. With the issue resolved─and Kupna Kuko suitably abashed─the group heads back to Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre to get the celebrations underway.
* Festivalgoers partake of the many giant Valentione's Day cakes with unconcealed delight. As people share a delicious treat with their loved ones and savor a moment of happiness, the celebration of ardor and affection is once more in full swing.

Astrid: ...Why, if it isn't ''Forename''! It is a pleasure to see you again.

Emilie: And I am Emilie, aspiring emissary of love! Say, you have the air of an adventurer about you.

Astrid: We're in dire need of assistance to see the festivities get underway, and an adventurer might be just what we're looking for. If it's not too much of an imposition, might I ask for your aid?

Emilie: Oh, thank you! We've been hard at work getting everything ready for today. I even designed this fetching new outfit! And everything was perfectly in hand until we ran into a spot of bother.

Astrid: Allow me to explain: to celebrate Valentione's Day, we were to serve rather generously sized cakes to be shared with one and all. However, operations ground to a halt at the last minute, leaving our plans─and cakes─half-baked...
Astrid: The emissaries dispatched to assess the situation should be returning presently with further details. Would you mind joining us at the amphitheatre entrance to meet them?
Astrid: If you would join us at the entrance, it shouldn't be long before the emissaries arrive.

Emilie: It's most heartening to have your aid. The giant cakes are the keystone of this Valentione's Day, you see!

Kupka Kupp: Oh, it's bakery bedlam in there, kupo! Those pesky mammets should be creating confectionaries brimming with ardor and affection, but instead, they insist on being a nuisance and an obstruction. It was all too much for us to handle alone...

Astrid: As I suspected, this may be best left to someone more skilled in the art of physical altercations...
Astrid: I'm sure you remember Kupka Kupp, our moogle emissary of love, messenger of ardor and affection to lovelorn souls the realm over. This year, once again, he has been kind enough to pitch in with the festivities!
Astrid: This is Kupka Kupp, our moogle emissary of love who labors tirelessly to deliver missives of ardor and affection to lovelorn souls the realm over. He has been instrumental in the celebrations of many a Valentione's Day!

Kupka Kupp: How could I turn down a request for aid after hearing the plan for such lavish deliveries of love, kupo? Many paws make light work, as they say, so I collared a fellow mog and flew over posthaste to lend our aid to the pâtissiers of House Valentione!

Astrid: These deliveries of love are nothing less than the cakes in question. Valentione's Day is a time to foster affection for one another, and how better to do so than by sharing a sweet treat?
Astrid: When we shared our vision with Kupka Kupp, we soon came to the realization that we would need a facility capable of baking confectionery of colossal proportions.

Emilie: As luck would have it, there was an old manor on the outskirts of the Twelveswood...so House Valentione snapped it up and turned it into a grand pâtisserie! Everything was falling into place...
Emilie: ...until the bespoke mammet pâtissiers commissioned from the Goldsmiths' Guild went on a rampage.

Kupka Kupp: I would swear they had lost their minds had they any to begin with. Why, the little fiends took us for common cake thieves, kupo! They all but barred off the kitchen in their ceaseless frenzy!
Kupka Kupp: Though we have a whistle to stop the mammets in emergencies, they were upon us before my little lungs could fill with enough puff. I fear the situation may be beyond my power, kupo...

Astrid: Even with the mammets behaving so, we cannot recklessly destroy such custom clockwork pieces. Which means...
Astrid: Please, ''Forename''! You're our only hope! Will you dodge the malfunctioning mammets, decorate the cakes, and save Valentione's Day?

Kupka Kupp: And the only other mog who would have had the opportunity to cast magic in the vicinity would be Kupna Kuko, who helped prepare the fruit. Mayhap he knows something of this.

Astrid: Well, it seems our next course of action is decided. We must find this Kupna Kuko and see what he knows!

Kupka Kupp: I didn't espy him in the pâtisserie, so I suspect he may be somewhere in Gridania. Though, in all likelihood, he would attempt a quick escape should I confront him alone. ''Forename'', would you mind accompanying me as suitably intimidating backup?

Astrid: Thank you! I'll join the search once I've submitted a request to the Adventurers' Guild for additional cake-decorating support.

Kupka Kupp: Kupna Kuko is fond of strolls by the waterwheel, so the nearby Lancers' Guild seems as good a place as any to begin our search, kupo.

Kupna Kuko: Malfunction!? Great kupo nuts, you say they're ''malfunctioning''?
Kupna Kuko: Oh no... I had such fun helping with the cakes that I returned to the pâtisserie after delivering the fruit. But, Kupka Kupp was nowhere to be found─attending to another of his many duties, I suspect.
Kupna Kuko: Then, it struck me, kupo! If everyone was so busy, wouldn't it be better if the mammets could make the cakes all by themselves? And so, I cast a little moogle magick!

Kupka Kupp: Which then caused the mammets to malfunction. Kupna Kuko, you must undo whatever spell you've woven, kupo!

Kupna Kuko: W-Well... It may have been fairly easy to cast, but it's not so easily undone. Any attempt to dispel it is liable to end in exploded mammets.

Astrid: That would be far too dangerous for the mammets and─perhaps, more importantly─the cake! For now, we have a team of eager adventurers helping decorate cakes and we've ascertained that there was no intentional sabotage...
Astrid: Oh, what a fine mess you've made. Why didn't you think to ask anyone else before deciding on this plan?

Kupna Kuko: <sniffle> I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to cause problems, I just...I just wanted everyone to have as much cake as their hearts desired, kupo...

During that crisis, a group of heroes risked life and limb to save Eorzea from the coming doom, but despite their noble deeds, they are remembered by naught else than their title—Warriors of Light. To honor their story and ensure that it too would not be buried under the sands of memory, the Rising was conceived. The festival was to be held in each of the three city-states—though it has become customary that Ul'dah hosts the grandest of displays. Past events held within these high walls include a dramatization of the Battle of Carteneau by the Crystal Caravan puppet troupe, a stained glass exhibit organized by Ul'dah's renowned goldsmiths, and performances of poignant and prophetic songs by the realm's most recognizable wandering minstrel.

* At High Tide Harbor you meet a messenger sent by Ketenramm to find you. He soon fetches the legendary Eorzean explorer, who proceeds to outline his plans for one final voyage─sights firmly set on Shades' Triangle, a fabled and feared stretch of ocean in the Indigo Deep. Convinced that your aid will guarantee the expedition's success, he invites you to join his crew on a journey into the unknown. Having assented, you are to speak with Ofangeim, one of the expedition crew members waiting on the pier.
* Ofangeim, the ship's navigator, informs you that the treacherous storms Shades' Triangle is famed for will briefly subside, leaving calm seas and perfect sailing conditions in their wake. Gesturing to the skiff moored nearby, she explains that the main vessel is waiting beyond the shallows, and bids you report to her when ready.
* After making the necessary preparations for the voyage ahead, you speak with Ofangeim and set off for seas uncharted...
* On board the expedition vessel, Ketenramm reveals that the stormy waters of Shades' Triangle conceal a strange, crescent-shaped island, the sight of which is said to spell certain doom for all who sail too close. Listening to his explanation, it is clear that such cautionary tales have had quite the opposite effect on the veteran sailor. Still malms away from your destination, Ketenramm suggests you get to know the crew risking their lives alongside you on this perilous adventure.

Expedition Surveyor: But when I heard Ketenramm was leadin' an expedition into the heart of the Triangle, I signed right up. Don't get me wrong, I've still got me reservations, but when I think of whatever's waitin' for us in those waters, it's the excitement that wins out!

Expedition Surveyor: Conditions in Shades' Triangle are perfect today. I've pored over every ilm of the charts─ain't no way me predictions are wrong!

*Curious Gorge is training here, but his mind is elsewhere.

*Curious Gorge has been training as hard as ever and has indeed grown stronger for it, yet upon seeing you for the first time in an age, he immediately recognizes that you have grown stronger still. After you regale him with tales of your adventures in the First, particularly those of Granson and Dikaiosyne, he concludes that the reason for his limited growth is love─or rather, that he has been unable to put it out of his mind. Curious Gorge has sent many missives to Dorgono in the Far East, but has yet to receive even a single reply, and so he resolves to go and see her in person...and thus is not present when Dorgono and her father Luvsan arrive moments later, having recently come all the way from the Azim Steppe to thank in person all those who aided the Qerel. Since Curious Gorge is nowhere to be found, you are to proceed to the Moraby Drydocks where Broken Mountain and his warriors can be found.

*During the course of their conversation, Broken Mountain admits to Luvsan that he does not carry an axe because he can no longer fight. However, the elder Xaela does not believe all hope is lost, and proposes a treatment that may restore him to fighting condition. A certain type of moss will be necessary for this, and Luvsan believes he saw a suitable substitute on the way to the docks.

*The moss in question can be found growing on boulders strewn throughout the general vicinity, and Luvsan bids you gather it by first shattering them with a Heavy Swing, which should render it easier to collect. If nothing else, it is inarguably a more dramatic way of gathering moss than gently scraping it off.

*You succeed in gathering the moss in the distinct warrior fashion. Luvsan should be satisfied with the quantity in your possession.

*Taking advantage of your privacy, Luvsan confesses that he had an ulterior motive for coming to Eorzea: to confirm his suspicions that his daughter had fallen in love with a warrior of the West. After meeting you, he concludes that you are the suitor in question, and offers to bless your union─at which point Dorgono returns and puts an end to the discussion for the time being.

*With all gathered for the ritual, Luvsan offers an elixir to Broken Mountain, who drinks deep. Finally, he instructs you to strike the injured warrior with all your might, assuring you both that it is the only way. Though Broken Mountain is understandably uncomfortable with this proposal, the die is cast, and only a Heavy Swing will suffice.

*Broken Mountain weathers your assault, and moments later finds himself filled with newfound strength. He is a warrior reborn, and the beast within is his to command. As all celebrate his successful recovery, Curious Gorge approaches─but observing from afar, mistakes Dorgono's joyful smile as an expression of her love towards you, leading him to succumb to his inner beast and charge. Fortunately, before it turns into a needlessly messy and violent affair, she brings him to his senses with a single blow.

*Curious Gorge reminds you not to grow complacent in your own efforts to grow stronger still, for with Broken Mountain healed and Dorgono in Eorzea for the time being, your competition for the title of the realm's greatest warrior has grown that much more intense. And indeed, the day may come when one of the three will dethrone you...but not yet.

*Old habits are hard to break, as [[Emmanellain]] soon proves. Upon realizing that [[Artoirel|his brother]] asked you to look after him, the young lord proceeds to press you into duty, bidding you patrol several locations outside [[Falcon's Nest]] where [[Ghostwolf|wolves]] have been sighted. Before you can voice your opinion on the matter, Emmanellain vanishes, leaving you with little choice but to carry out the menial task.

*As expected, there were wolves, and as expected, they were no match for you. With luck, Emmanellain will have returned to his post by now.

*After congratulating you on a job well done, Emmanellain proudly announces that he has completed his rounds of Falcon's Nest and that yes, all is indeed well. In passing, he mentions that he spoke with [[Thancred]] -- or the “grizzled fellow” who “made that arsonist confess”, as he puts it -- while you were away, and that he employed the same devious techniques on him that he used to press you into wolf-slaying duty. With a sigh, you turn your attention to the wastes outside Falcon's Nest once more.

*You find Thancred, as well as two heretics he seemingly saved from a ravenous wolf pack. Together, you return to Falcon's Nest, eager to see what other thrilling tasks Lord Emmanellain has in store.

*Emmanellain has only praise for you and Thancred. “Gallant heroes” by whose “selfless sacrifice” the safety of the conference's guests has been guaranteed. Flattering as his words are, you cannot help but sense a mocking edge, and you suspect Thancred does as well, given the grinding of his teeth.
