Introduction

Summoners are mystical mages who have harnessed the lost art of invoking primals. Through this ancient knowledge, summoners can bend primals to their will and use them to sic and destroy their enemies; the proximity to these forbidden arts enable them to manifest a small but equally vile version of Bahamut itself.

Attributes
Attributes determine your character's statistics in combat, gathering, and crafting. Different races start off with different base attributes.

Strength
Strength is the primary damage dealing stat for melee jobs; Dragoon, Monk, Warrior, Paladin, Dark Knight, Samurai. Higher strength equals higher Attack Power for these melee classes. Strength also increases the amount of damage you mitigate when you block or parry an enemy attack.

Dexterity
Dexterity is the primary damage dealing stat for Bard, Ninja, and Machinist. Dexterity also increases the rate of your block and parry. The higher your dexterity is, the more likely you are to block or parry an enemy attack.

Vitality
Vitality is the primary defensive stat for tanking classes and jobs such as gladiator and marauder. Higher vitality equals higher HP. As of Patch 3.2, vitality is used in the calculation of Attack Power for tank jobs.

Intelligence
Intelligence is the primary offensive stat for spell casting classes and jobs such as Black Mage, Summoner, and Red Mage. Higher intelligence corresponds to higher Attack Magic Potency and more magic damage your spells will do.

Mind
Mind is the primary stat for healers such as White Mage, Scholar, and Astrologian. Higher Mind means higher Healing Magic Potency and more healing your spells will do. Mind also means higher Attack Magic Potency and more damage a your spells will do.

Points
HP
HP are your health points. As you take damage, your HP will decrease. You die when your HP reach 0. After you die, you must be resurrected by raise or return to your Home Point.

MP
MP, or magic points, are required to cast spells. If the MP cost of a spell is greater than your remaining MP, you cannot cast that spell. MP slowly regenerates over time in and out of combat. MP can be regenerated by using items such as [Ether]s, or with abilities that grant [Refresh].

TP
TP, or tactical points, are required to use weaponskills. If the TP cost of a weaponskill is greater than your remaining TP, you cannot use that weaponskill. TP slowly regenerates over time in and out of combat.

CP
CP, or crafting points, are required to use some of your crafting actions. When you have a crafting class equipped, CP bar replaces your MP bar. CP regenerates to full after you complete a craft, but does not regenerate during crafting actions.

GP
GP, or gathering points, are required to use some of your gathering actions. While you have a gathering class equipped, GP bar replaces your MP bar. GP slowly regenerates when outside of gathering actions, but does not regenerate during gathering actions.

Offensive Properties
Critical Hit Rate
Critical Hit Rate increases the chance of an attack doing critical damage, and also increases the damage of the critical hit.

Determination
Determination increases the amount of damage dealt by all attacks including auto-attacks, weaponskills and spells. It also increases the amount of HP recovered by spells.

Direct Hit
Direct Hit increases the chance of an attack hitting the enemy directly.

Defensive Properties
Defense
Defense determines the amount of damage you take from physical attacks. Higher defense means less damage taken from physical attacks.

Magic Defense
Magic Defense determines the amount of damage you take from magical attacks. Higher magic defense equals less damage taken from enemy spells.

Tenacity
Tenacity determines damage dealt, damage taken, and HP restored by tanks. The higher the value, the more damage dealt, the more HP restored, and the less damage taken.

Physical Properties
Attack Power
Attack Power is the amount of damage you deal through physical attacks. Strength increases attack power for melee physical classes such as gladiator, marauder, pugilist and lancer. Dexterity increases attack power for other physical classes like archer and rogue.

Skill Speed
Skill Speed reduces the cast time and cooldown of weaponskills. Higher skill speed means lower weaponskill casting time and cooldown. It also increases DoT's damage per tick.

Mental Properties
Attack Magic Potency
Attack Magic Potency determines the amount of damage you do with your spells. Higher intelligence equals higher attack magic potency.

Healing Magic Potency
Healing Magic Potency determines the amount of healing you do with your healing spells such as Cure and Cure II. Higher mind corresponds to higher healing magic potency.

Piety
Higher Piety corresponds to higher MP. More MP allows you to cast more spells during combat. It is a useful stat for Disciples of Magic classes and spell-casting jobs. In the latest expanion (4.0 Stormblood) Piety is no longer a Primary Attribute but a Secondary Attribute (Mental Property).

Spell Speed
Spell Speed reduces the cast time and cooldown of your spells. Higher spell speed means lower spell cast time and cooldown. It also increases DoT and HoT's damage/healing per tick.

Craftsmanship
Craftsmanship increases the amount of progress you generate while using crafting actions such as Basic Synthesis and Standard Synthesis.

Control
Control increases the amount of quality you generate while using crafting actions such as Basic Touch, Standard Touch and Advanced Touch.

Gathering
Gathering
Gathering increases your likelihood of receiving an item while gathering.

Perception
Perception increases the probability of the item you receive to be high quality while gathering.

PvP Properties
Morale
Morale increases item levels of PvP gear in The Wolves' Den only. Does not work in Frontlines.
Introduction
Linkshell is a permanent chat channel in which a collection of players can communicate together, often formed to find players of similar interests with which you can play together.

Article
As with any MMO out in this day and age, there’s a lot to learn, some of which isn’t exactly readily available inside the game itself. Not to say the game doesn’t explain things, it’s just that it doesn’t always explain them with the sort of clarity that you would be looking or hoping for; as a result that’s where I come in - to at least bring some more information on something that the game might be lacking in.

<s>At first glance, what is the Linkshell? You might come up with a myriad of different responses to that question, many of them probably incorrect – unless you said the guild system! Yes, that’s right; the Linkshell is actually an item that allows you to create your own guild in the game, similar to that of any other MMO in existence.</s> (The Linkshell system is NOT the guild system, please see Free Company for FFXIV's guild system.)

With any guild-based system, there are a set number of roles that individuals can be promoted and demoted from; all ranging from low-to-high on their own, personal hierarchy for the Linkshell.

These positions are:

*Masters
*Leaders
*Members

Each one of these positions allow the player a certain set of actions, with the Masters being given the option to invite new members; promote or demote leaders and members to leader or master rank; kick a player from the Linkshell; even disbanding the Linkshell entirely. Leaders on the other hand don’t nearly have the same amount of priorities, but they do have access to inviting new members to the Linkshell and can even kick Members from the Linkshell.

The Members do not have access to these sort of permissions, but they can still chat throughout the global Linkshell chat, if they so choose to interact with other players who are online at the time.

If you’re reading this and thinking where you might get your own Linkshell to start off your new guild, you’re going to want to go and find one of three possible NPC’s who can give you the item; providing you follow their quest line until you finally get the item.

These 3 NPC’s are:

*L'zuhjha
*Ninisha
*Theanne

After locating one of these 3 NPC’s, basically follow along with everything they want you to do and before too long they will reward you with the Linkshell; finally giving you the chance and the opportunity to start your own guild in Final Fantasy XIV.

There’s not too much else to say about the Linkshell, as at its core it isn’t all that complicated to begin with, but if you’ve ever found yourself wishing for a guild-like feature to fill up with your friends then I would recommended looking into getting the item for yourself to at least give it a shot.

White Mage
Endgame Healing Tips and Tricks
*Put bonus stat points into Mind to increase Healing Magic Potency. Put some points into Vitality if additional HP is needed for certain fights.

*Important cross-class abilities: Swiftcast (THM Level 26), Virus (ACN Level 12), Eye for an Eye (ACN Level 34) - Swiftcast allows you to instantly Raise an ally. Virus is the equivalent of a defensive cooldown for your tank. It helps mitigate heavy attacks from a boss. Eye for an Eye reduces the damage taken by your tank over time. It should be kept up as often as possible.

*Use Stoneskin on tanks before or during combat - The tanks need time in order to build enmity and Stoneskin will allow them to do just that before you need to heal them. You can also use Stoneskin on the main tank right before they take a big hit.

*Overhealing = bad - Overhealing creates unnecessary aggro and wastes precious MP. Do not spam Medica or Medica II when few members of the party loses 10% of their HP, unless they are about to be hit by an powerful AoE attack.

*Use Shroud of Saints as often as possible - Shroud of Saints regenerates MP based on your level and lowers your enmity by 50%. In some instances, Shroud of Saints should be saved for specific moments such as phases with adds spawning. It helps to reduces your aggro and gives your tank an easier time in controlling the adds. To maximize MP regeneration, players should use Shroud of Saints every time their MP is 1300 below maximum.

*Know the range of Medica and Medica II - The range of Medica and Medica II is 15 and 20 yalms respectively. Players should run close enough to their allies for those abilities to reach them and not run too close and waste time and movement.

*Medica II is the best choice for AoE healing unless there is an add phase coming up in the next 30 seconds. It is more MP efficient than Cure III and Medica. Let the Medica II Regen go through its full duration instead of casting another AoE healing spell directly after Medica II.

*Recognize debuffs on party members and esuna them if needed - Debuffs appear as retangular arrow pointing downward on allies' status bars. Learn what the debuffs are for different occasions and know which ones should be removed with esuna.

*Cure I should be your primary heal spell and you should be keeping your tank topped off at 90-95% while letting Regen do its work on the rest. Use Cure II whenever you gain the effect of "Freecure" or if the tank goes below 50-70%. If you know a strong attack is coming, cast Stoneskin.

*Cure II is not your main healing spell - While Cure II is very potent, it uses a lot of MP. Spamming Cure II will quickly exhaust your MP. Use Cure as much as you can. Only use Cure II when your target is below 60% HP or when Freecure is procd.

*Cure III can be used as an AoE spell - Cure III will not only heal your target but also all players around your target. It is useful to heal a group of players that are not near you.

*Regen is your most MP-efficient spell and should always be re-applied on the tank whenever it is safe to do so. Of course, it is important to realize that casting Regen will make you unable to cast spells on the global cooldown for around 2.5 seconds so only cast Regen when it is safe to do so.

*Use Divine Seal as often as possible - Right before a battle or phase that requires massive healing, use Divine Seal. Regen and Medica II's Regen stay buffed by Divine Seal as long as it is used while the caster is still buffed with Divine Seal. This also means that casting Regen then using Divine Seal will result in your current Regen NOT being buffed.

*Use potions - Note that Mind Potion has same effect on Regen as Divine Seal. Be sure to cast Regen while you are buffed. Use ethers to regain MP or right after being raised to regain a lot of MP.

*Buffs and potions are off global cooldown - Using a buff or potion will make you unable to cast spells for the next second or so. Using buffs and potions during a time when you can't cast spells will fully utilize your efficiency.

*Because of Adloquium and Lustrate, Scholars are superior main tank healers. Let them heal the main tank while you heal the party member and give supplemental heals to the tank as needed

Temporary notes, please clean up with proper names and such:

Haven't seen a guide up yet but I ran it last night after the patch and here's my notes if anyone wants to use them. I left out some obvious aoe dodges but I think I got all of it. I'm sure you guys will find other things.

Deathgaze Hollow
* Void Doom: Red/Black AOE in center will pull you in, keep running away from it, as it will try to pull you in again a second time, then explode for massive damage.
* Doom: randomly cast on 2 people, must be cleansed by healers.
* Bolt of Darkness: Perpendicular AoE, deals damage and applies Bleeding to players affected.

* Void Aero II: Random players will be marked with a green icon over head and will drop a tornado after the boss finishes the cast. Drop these away from others and towards edges of ship.
* Void Blizzard II: Big cone AoE with safe cone spots.
* Void Aero III: Green AoE in center will explode and push you away, dealing proximity-based damage. Either stay in the center to avoid the knockback (big damage), or run to the walls that block the boss area. Please note that after a certain point in the battle, the boss will fly to a section of the room and cast Bolt of Darkness.

* Void Blizzard IV: Two AoEs will appear, dealing proximity-based damage and dropping ice crystals in the center of the area. After they fall, the boss will cast Void Aero IV.
* Void Aero IV: Boss will appear in one side of the arena and push players. Line with a crystal dropped from Void Blizzard IV to avoid falling off.
* As the battle progresses, gray squares will appear on the floor. Those will deal damage to anyone standing on them when the boss casts Void Death IV.
** Void Death IV: Instantly kills any player standing on a gray square.

Ferdiad Hollow
* Throughout the fight, Ferdiad will mark 3 players with red markers and throw Abyssal Scythes on them. The scythes will stay on the ground, dealing damage to anyone close to them.

* Also throughout the fight, Ferdiad will summon Atmos, and tether to one or two of them and cast Wormhole.
* Wormhole: Shoots a ball in a straight line into the tethered Atmos. The tethered ones disappear after the cast, transferring their balls to a same-colored Atmos.
** Yellow Atmos transfers ball to another yellow Atmos, and blue Atmos transfers ball to another blue Atmos; the ball color will not change.
** The yellow ball explodes in a room-wide donut-AoE (safe zone near it), and the blue ball explodes in a big AoE (no safe zone).

* Jester's Reap: Big cone AoE in front of the boss.
* Jongleur's X: Tankbuster.
* Blackblot: Marks a target. Others should stack on the targeted player to share damage.
* Blackfire: AoEs will cover the arena. Those become gradually bigger as the cast progresses.

* Debilitator: Reduces all players' weakness to fire or water, and spawns various puddles on the floor. Stepping on a puddle changes its element (blue = water, red = fire). The boss will cast Flameflow after a while.
**Players should change puddles' element to the one contrary to their weakness - if you have fire weakness, change puddles to blue (water).
* Flameflow: Deals damage to all players. Damage can be reduced by avoiding puddles of the same element of the group weakness.

* At around 60% health, the boss will go to the middle of the room and become untargetable, spawning Atmos around him which mobs will shot from them.
** Anyone in front of the Atmos will take damage and a stack of vulnerability.
* From time to time, the boss will cover a half of the arena with a long-cast AoE. It will kill any players standing on that side when the cast finishes.
* The adds will either cast:
** Lucky Pierrot: Atmos will spawn around the edges of the room, and adds will dash to them, dealing damage to anyone on the way. The adds will reappear from the Atmos in the center, dealing damage to players nearby.
** Icafall: Small AoEs.
* After the adds are killed, the boss will deal damage to all players.

Scathach
* When wings(?) get really big be in front or behind THEM, boss direction doesn't matter
* When she ports she will do large aoe a few seconds later
* When message about shadows on the ground pops up, stop all movement, otherwise little arms grab you and do a good amount of damage
* Occasionally she will turn toward party and do line aoe, sidestep it
* Move adds away and kill, if they get too close they tether and buff her
* Shadow Limb (giant hands) link to a player when spawned and will be pulled toward that player, killing the player if they reach the player. The tethered player can face the Shadow Limb to make it stand still. The Limbs must be DPSed, and can switch tethers to a different player.
* At 50%, Scathach will enter a cocoon and spawn adds, including a Chimera with the typical Chimera moveset.
* These adds must be killed, or she will wipe upon emerging from the cocoon.

Diabolos
* Lots of familiar moves
* Gates are priority
* After a while there will be 2 doors that spawn things and 1 big door. Kill small doors asap
* Watch for more small doors as you kill big door 3 times
5th boss Diabolos Hollow(2nd form)

NEW GAME MECHANIC
* He will do a large "group up" type AOE COMBINED with a "look away" AOE. People should stack on this person BUT also look away from them
* All the mechanics from last fight plus some from queen
* Watch for the line aoe from queen
* Uses Earthshakers
* Gates again
* A large gate will spawn that one alliance should enter to kill an add

Lore
The ancient tome recovered by Captain Radlia of the Talons tells of a floating refuge─an island created by Mhachi sorcerers to provide safe haven from calamitous floodwaters. With the disaster that befell the Void Ark, however, the island's intended residents never arrived. Cait Sith is convinced that Diabolos has instead claimed this refuge as his own, transforming what was to be a bastion of hope into a voidsent nest of shadowy nightmare.

General Information
Mounts allow players to travel around Eorzea faster. After acquiring a mount, you can ride it by dragging the icon onto your action bar. Players can acquire their first mount, Company Chocobo, by playing through the main story and joining a Grand Company at around level 20. Players must also complete the quest "My Little Chocobo" given by an NPC located within their Grand Company Building. Other mounts can be acquired by completing different requirements. Heavensward, FFXIV's first expansion introduced Flying Mounts.

*All mounts have the same movement speed increase.

*Enemies can still attack you while you are mounted. They can potentially injure your mount, slowing its movement speed significantly.
Flying Mounts
Flying mounts are introduced in Heavensward, revealed at the Fan Festival in London 2014. Flying Mounts allow the players to take to the sky and roam the areas of Heavensward freely. Many of the previously ground mounts, such as Company Chocobo, will be able to fly. To do this, you will need to complete the quest I Believe I Can Fly, located near the chocobo stables in Ishgard. Players can only fly in locations in Heavensward such as Ishgard and Coerthas Western Highlands. While flying, the flying mounts have 200% of the speed of a regular ground mount. While running on ground, the flying mounts will be the same speed as a ground mounts (100%).

*You can escape enemies on the ground by flying.

Unlock
Players can unlock flying mounts through the Main Scenario Quest Divine Intervention. Before flying in a zone, players need to attune with the Aether Currents in that zone. Players can check their attunement progress through the Aether Currents window under Travel in the main menu. Some Aether Currents are found in the zone while others are obtained by completing quests. Players are provided with an Aether Compass to aid them in their search.
*If you lose your Compass you can talk to Gibrillont at the Forgotten Knight to get a new one.

Controls
After attuning to a zone, press the jump key while riding a flying mount to fly.
Introduction
Lore
Interesting bits:
The Ala Mhigan motto seems to shed a bit of light on the title of the next expansion, Stormblood
Hyurs make up an overwhelming percentage of the population, highlanders alone making up 60%.
Both Yda and Minfillia are highlanders, but no female highlander model existed in 1.0, which is why they look how they do today

Flag
The Ala Mhigan flag is a field of purple upon which stands a silver griffin with sword in talons. The winged creature is the sigil of the nation's royal house, and the blade signifies the force used to see all other clans bend the knee before them. Purple is the color of Rhalgr, the guardian deity of the nation, and is associated with his element of lightning. The hue's presence on the pennant also marks the bond betwixt the royalty and religious order of the Fist of Rhalgr.

Motto
Born from Blood

Government
Though Ala Mhigo has long been ruled by kings, the Garlean invasion two decades past has brought an end to the monarchy. The city-state is now a provisional imperial territory, and its people, the Emperor's albeit unwilling subjects. Under the Garlean viceroy's iron reign, not all Ala Mhigan's have earned citizenship and its privileges. Many live in squalid conditions, their lives little better than those of slaves

Leader
Displaced

Ruling Body
All matters of governance fall to the viceroy--dispatched from Garlemald--and his staff.

Racial Distribution
Highlander Hyur: 60%
Hellsguard Roegadyn: 10%
Midlander Hyur: 10%
Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te: 10%
Other: 10%

Religion
During the Sixth Umbral Calamity, the people fleeing the floods spied a blazing comet in the night sky. As Rhalgr's symbol is the streaking meteor, they took it as a sign of the breaker of worlds, and following it to a new home high in the mountains. Thus, worship of the destroyer took root in the lands of Gyr Abania. In time, one sect known as the Fist of Rhalgr grew in power and influence, and came to flourish as the state religion. However, King Theodric oppressed this faith with fire and sword, and the Garleans--finding no value in worship--have forbidden religion altogether.

Industries
Mercenary Work:
In the rocky terrain of Gyr Abania, few are the patches of arable soil. There were many disputes over the extant ones--jealously guarded by their owners and fiercely coveted by all others. Indeed, even after Ala Mhigo unified the region, little industry could grow from the lands. The men and women of the nation began to sell the only thing they could: their skill at arms. They found many buyers, particularly during the times of conflict betwixt the Eorzean city-states. Indeed, each nation is said to have had its own company of Ala Mhigan sellswords. Even today, many of those who fled the city-state eke out a living as mercenaries.
Magitek Manufacturing:
For many centuries, the mountain hamlets of Ala Mhigo were self-sufficient. Villagers coaxed crops to grow from small fields, and reared animals for their wool. However, the Garlean invasion brought an end to this way of life with magitek technology. Now, Ala Mhigans are forced to work for a pittance in great smoke-belching factories, while Garlemald reaps wealth and luxury from their labor.

Beliefs
To better know the Destroyer, seek strength of body and mind--such are the teachings of the Fist of Rhalgr. Over the ages, this idea has shaped all who call the mountains home. Ala Mhigo is also geographically vulnerable to invasion from Ilsabard, and this ever-present threat has given birth to a culture that greatly values martial prowess.

Diet
With so few crops, the Ala Mhigan diet is a rather stark affair. However, as a stop on the trade routes, the city-state has adopted some fare from the Near East and Ilsabard. The foreign influence is said to be particularly apparent in the usage of spices. For drinks, it is customary to brew medicinal teas, such as ones made by steeping the ground horns of beasts in boiling water.

Bonus: The Autum War
Though Ala Mhigo prospered from the trade route for a time, its fortune was to be short-lived. After 1190, Ul'dah gained control of Thanalan, and began to trade on the high seas. Despite the ever-present threat of pirates, Ul'dah's ships were large, and could carry far more goods than caravans. A single voyage was much more profitable than a train of men traversing the overland route. Moreover, no one charged a toll to sail over the waves. Though the change was gradual, trade with the Near East shifted to the seas.
As the steady stream of coin from traveling merchants slowed to a trickle, Ala Mhigo's King Manfred sought survival through foreign conquest. In 1468, he laid claim to the East Shroud, and sent a great army against Gridania, sovereign of the Twelveswood. This conflict has since come to be known as the Autum War, and it was to prove a disastrous defeat for Ala Mhigo. Nevertheless, Manfred's host seemed unstoppable at the outset: it vanquished the Gridanian forces decisively in the First Battle of Tinolqa, and swept down deep into the Black Shroud. The tide shifted a year later, when the combined forces of Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah, and Ishgard heeded Gridania's call for aid. At the Second Battle of Tinolqa, the Ala Mhigans suffered the loss of General Gylbarde, a brilliant tactician who had earlier led his nation to victory at the head of a regiment of griffin-backed soldiers. Manfred's army was broken, and his war lost.
*Main focus is to regain control of Ala Mihgo from the Garlean Empire.
*Level cap is increased to 70.
*New Job: Red Mage (Ranged DPS). Another job possibly hinted at with a Spiderman t-shirt worn by Naoki Yoshida at the 2016 Tokyo Fan Festival. The 2nd confirmed Job is the Samurai (Melee DPS), which was announced at the 2017 Frankfurt Fan Festival.

Journal
*Alphinaud would keep moving forward.

*If the false Griffin is to be believed, the crystals you seek are somewhere within the stronghold of Zahar'ak, where the Amalj'aa are presumably preparing to summon Ifrit. Given the gravity of the threat, you have no choice but to gather your comrades and proceed there at once. Alisaie has been waiting for Thancred for some time; hopefully the bard has finally arrived.

*You tell Thancred and Alisaie of your recent reunion with Yda and Papalymo, and of your subsequent encounter with the false Griffin. At the mention of Ifrit's name, they agree without hesitation that you must make haste to the home of the Amalj'aa, for the Scions of the Seventh Dawn are duty-bound to combat the primal menace wheresoever it may arise.

*Strangely, there appear to be no signs of increased activity, or anything else which might indicate that the Amalj'aa are preparing to summon Ifrit. Could it be that the false Griffin has made a fool of you? And if so, to what end? Though you are sorely tempted to march directly back to the Masks' camp, you must first complete your search, for only by venturing into the Bowl of Embers can you know for certain whether or not a ritual is taking place.

*To your horror, you find the bodies of countless Amalj'aa waiting for you within the Bowl of Embers, and standing over them the Warriors of Darkness. This time, however, they are come not to slay a primal, but you, the Warrior of Light, in the belief that your death will plunge the realm into chaos and bring about another Umbral Calamity. They duly attack, but your allies are quick to rush to your defense─not least Alisaie, who conjures an aetheric blade before joining the fray.

*The battle rages for a time, and eventually you feel the tide turning in your favor. But, in that instant, your counterpart unleashes a potent binding magic, and you and your allies suddenly find yourselves at the mercy of your opponents. Before they can administer the coup de grâce, however, Urianger appears from nowhere, and breaks the aetheric chains around you, revealing himself to have manipulated the Warriors of Darkness as a double agent. With the odds now even, the battle resumes, your enemies fighting with every ounce of their strength to take your life.

*When the dust finally settles, only you and yours remain standing. However, even in defeat, the Warriors of Darkness remain defiant, drawing forth Crystals of Light and proclaiming that you cannot defeat that which is eternal. It is then that Alphinaud realizes the horrible truth: these desperate men and women of the First are already dead. Bowing his head, their leader declares that they were humble adventurers chosen by the Mothercrystal to serve as Warriors of Light. They did everything that was asked of them, and yet, for all their efforts, and all their many triumphs, their world still fell to ruin. With naught left to say, they raise their crystals high, resolved to withdraw that they might one day return to carry on the fight. Seeing this, however, Urianger enjoins you to raise up your own Crystal of Light, and as it glows brighter and brighter in your hands, its radiance begins to blend with that of the others, until all is swallowed by incandescent, blinding white...

*You open your eyes to find yourself in the aetherial sea, a familiar voice echoing in your ears. As the others struggle to comprehend what has happened, Urianger raises his hands to the heavens and cries out to Mother Hydaelyn, beseeching Her to grant you an audience with Minfilia in exchange for this bounty of Light. In answer, the Word of the Mother appears and addresses the fallen heroes of the First, declaring that she will travel to their world and draw the abundant Light unto herself, thus redressing the balance. Driven mad by this seemingly impossible reversal of fortunes, their leader makes to strike her down, but she halts his charge with a gesture, assuring him that she speaks true, and that his world will not fall to Light.

*Turning to you and your allies, she then speaks as Minfilia once more, thanking Urianger for allowing her to see so many of her dearest friends one last time. His voice quavering, the Archon confesses to having orchestrated events to grant Minfilia her freedom, that she might then use her newfound powers to prevent the First from being lost to the void. Though this revelation prompts outrage in your allies, she reassures them that she is happy to have been given such an opportunity. As a final gesture, she entrusts to you Louisoix's broken staff, Tupsimati, praying that you will never have need of it.

*Their journey at an end, the broken Warriors of Light have a simple request for your departing friend: “Take us with you. Take us home.” And so you bid farewell to them, and to brave Minfilia, who promises that one day, when she has found a way to free this star of her sorrow, she will return, just as you have always returned from your many adventures.

*You cannot say when or how you all arrived back in Thanalan, but you are certain it was Minfilia's doing. While turning the day's events over in his mind, Alphinaud takes a moment to consider the fate of the Warriors of Darkness. If they were already dead, he reasons, a return to the First may very well mean their permanent demise... But perhaps, after all they had endured, that was their wish.
