Lore
Let Sleeping Dragons Lie
This goblin settlement was established in the lush jungles of Raincatcher Gully by Brayflox Alltalks, a former member of the Company of Heroes. As tends to happen, Brayflox inadvertently did what one must never, ever do: wake the dragon. Thus did a massive, menacing shadow fall over the Longstop, whose denizens were forced to flee with little more than the gobbiebags upon their backs. Loath to give up their amassed riches, painstakingly acquired during their wanderings, the goblins plotted to take back the Longstop, and they would drag into their brazen plan an adventurer who had come to the settlement on unrelated business.

Aiatar
Wounded some decades ago by a dragoon’s lance, this creature of Nidhogg’s Horde made its way from northern Coerthas to the island of Vylbrand, where it entered into a deep sleep of healing. It ought to come as no surprise, then, that the dragon was in a bad mood when Brayflox and her crew arrived. They chose Raincatcher Gully as a retreat so that it might feed upon the jungle's poisonous vegetation to imbue its breath with virulence.

The Goblin Cheese War
With the dragon Aiatar vanquished, Brayflox’s Longstop knew peace once more. But that peace was not to last, for trouble soon visited again in the form of the Illuminati, a secretive fraternity of goblin scholars. Deploying their armored unit, they set about laying siege to the settlement, and in desperation Brayflox turned once more to her trusty uplander friend. Never one to forsake those in need, the adventurer proceeded to deal with the enemy, striking them down to the last goblin...only to learn that the blame for the invasion in fact lay with Brayflox, who absconded with a jealously guarded tome bearing a secret cheese recipe. That being said, the heavy-handed means the Illuminati employed to achieve their ends were also questionable, and one need not strain to imagine the unease the adventurer must have felt to be caught amidst this dispute.

Gobmachine G-VI
Developed by the Illuminati, this war vehicle was originally designed for construction and repurposed for destruction. While it lacks the refinement of imperial machines, boasting stout plating and a powerful ceruleum engine, it is regarded as a feat of goblin engineering in its own right.
*Spine Shatter: Tankbuster.
*Iron Uprising: A frontal cone AoE that knocks players back.
*Activate: Summons a Magitek Death Claw that tethers to one player and slowly moves towards them, knocking player back when it gets to them. The players not tethered should kill it.
*Augmented Shatter: A stack on a random player, followed by Wheel of Suffering centered on the targeted player.
**Wheel of Suffering: A circle AoE that deals damage to all players near the boss. Players should stack together then move out of the following AoE.
*Augmented Uprising: Nero will hop to one side of the arena and attack a large portion of the arena with a cone AoE that should be avoided.
*Augmented Suffering: Nero will jump to the center and cast a knockback attack. Players should get into the center to avoid being flung into the electrical field.
*Phantasmata: Copies of Gaius will appear on the long side of the arena and each cast Terminus Est, marked by flaming Xs. Players should move out of the way of their path by moving in between two of them.
*Festina Lente: A stack marker on a random player.
*Ductus: Three circular AoEs appear on the short side of the arena and move along the length of the platform.
*Hand of the Empire: Each player will be marked by an unavoidable circle AoE. Players should spread out to avoid excess damage.

At 5% HP, Gaius will summon 4 Phantom Gaius adds that must be taken out while he charges up Blade Energy for his ultimate attack, Veni Vidi Vici, which will instantly kill the party if energy reaches 100%. This type of attack is called a "hard enrage" by players and is uncommon in normal-mode content.
*Heirsbane: Each Phantom Gaius will target a random player, dealing moderate damage to them.
*Horrida Bella: After Veni Vidi Vici is withstood, Gaius will spam a higher damage version of this until he is defeated.
Cid: So here we are...
Cid: The Ultima Weapon will almost certainly be housed in the depths of the complex.

Cid: This is it, my friend!

Duty Dialogue
Cid: We need to make our way down. There ought to be a terminal for the lift up ahead.

Cid: Here it is. If you'd care to take the van, I'll follow after I've had a look around.

Cutscene
Cid: Gaius!

Gaius van Baelsar: Ah, Cid, my boy... You are late.
Gaius van Baelsar: There is something I always meant to tell you, yet the time never seemed right. It concerns your father.

Cid: ...What of him?

Gaius van Baelsar: In the winter of his years, Midas came to abhor his part in Meteor. He told me that he wanted nothing more than to wash his hands of the whole sordid business.

Cid: But he did not wash his hands of it. He helmed the project until the day it killed him!

Gaius van Baelsar: Come now, Cid...you must know that he did not have the luxury of choice. By the time he realized his error, it was too late. Meteor had him completely in its thrall.
Gaius van Baelsar: Shortly before his...transformation, mayhap sensing that something was amiss, your father confided to me all the regrets of his life. Most of them concerned you.
Gaius van Baelsar: Early on in your career, he realized that while you had a talent for devising armaments, it would never fulfill you. Long before you knew your own mind, he saw that you would be far happier using your knowledge for peaceful purposes, and the thought touched him. He was a changed man for it, though he could not let it show.

Cid: You ripped open walls in this place just so you could say this to me!? What is it you want, Gaius!?

Gaius van Baelsar: I want you at my side, Cid. Take up your father's mantle, and become the Empire's lead engineer. It is your destiny.

Cid: My father had a change of heart─you said so yourself! Besides, I have long known my destiny, and I assure you, it lies not with the Empire!

Gaius van Baelsar: A pity.
And what of you, adventurer? Will you not consider making common cause with me?
Gaius van Baelsar: With your powers joined to mine, we might do much for this realm. Together, we could bring order to Eorzea, and usher in a lasting peace.
Gaius van Baelsar: No? And I can expect no better answer than this? So be it. It was your strength that made me proffer my hand in friendship, and it is your strength that makes me proffer now my blade. Save as an ally, you are too dangerous to be let to remain.
Gaius van Baelsar: Run, Cid. Or stay. It makes no matter. You cannot escape the past.

Cid: Gaius, wait! ...Damn it!

Duty Dialogue
Cid: Right, I'll examine the equipment for intelligence. Press on─I'll let you know if I learn anything.

Cid: Well, well, would you look at this! It's the armor we borrowed for our mission at Castrum Centri!
Cid: If this isn't fate, I don't know what is! Go on, strap yourself in and raise hells!

Cutscene
Cid: That bulkhead is composed of a special alloy. Extremely tough. Ordinary fire won't leave a mark, I'm afraid.
Cid: You'll need to divert all power to the magitek cannon, as I did at Castrum Meridianum.
Cid: The armor's core is like to expire from the strain, but there's no help for it if we want to press on.
Cid: Now, listen well. Press...<buzzzzzz>...the control...<fizzzzzz>...engage ancillary...then fire away. Don't mind the warning lights.

Cid: You're a natural at this! All right, the way's clear, but it's just you and your own two feet now, so be careful.

Cutscene
Nero tol Scaeva: You have been leaving a fine mess in your wake, adventurer.

Cid: Is someone there!?

Nero tol Scaeva: Garlond, old friend. How it warms the heart to hear your voice again after all these years.

Cid: ...Nero? Is that you!?

Nero tol Scaeva: You sound well. It would seem this savage land agrees with you.

Cid: The highest ranking tribunus of the XIVth... It was you all this time?

Nero tol Scaeva: Tell me, Garlond. How long do you intend to keep all the glory for yourself?

Cid: Uh...what? You've lost me.

Nero tol Scaeva: Don't play the fool with me. Ever since the Academy, I have been condemned to live in your shadow.
Nero tol Scaeva: By all objective measure, I was the more talented of the two of us, yet that fact counted for naught beside your privileged birth. You were admired as the young prodigy simply because your father was the great Midas nan Garlond!
Nero tol Scaeva: When you defected, I felt sure my star would finally rise...
Nero tol Scaeva: But by disappearing, you acquired the status of a legend─your reputed genius gaining credence merely by dint of your absence! Instead of cursing you for a traitor, the people actually came to think of you more fondly! To this day, you are still the young prodigy of magitek!
Nero tol Scaeva: I, meanwhile, have ever been made to feel second-rate─I who have continued to serve our nation faithfully. Whenever I fail to excel─why, it is only to be expected! Yet when I exceed all reasonable expectations, people proclaim that I walk in the footsteps of the great Cid nan bloody Garlond!

Cid: Nero, I...I don't know what to say.

Nero tol Scaeva: It matters not a whit what I achieve. Your existence has rendered mine worthless. Even Lord van Baelsar saw fit to offer you a place at his side─and this in spite of your betrayal! Did he extend any such offer to me─the man who has remained loyal to him for all these years? Why, no. He did not.
Nero tol Scaeva: Long have I endured this injustice...but no more.
Nero tol Scaeva: Lord van Baelsar is in the midst of activating the fully powered Ultima Weapon.
Nero tol Scaeva: It is my magnum opus─the creation that will win me the recognition I am due. I will not let anyone interfere.

Cid: Nero! What are you─!?

Nero tol Scaeva: Ever since I first set foot in this benighted land, I have watched you─every move you have made, every step you have taken.
Nero tol Scaeva: You have felled eikons, a feat made possible by the Echo, a peculiar power which shields you from their corrupting influence.
Nero tol Scaeva: It is of little wonder that my lord has taken an interest in you.
Nero tol Scaeva: As have I, if truth be told. It is my desire to harness your power for use in the Ultima Weapon.
Nero tol Scaeva: >> Should I succeed, Lord van Baelsar will surely take notice! Beside this, Garlond's achievements will be as child's play! <<
Nero tol Scaeva: >> Come, adventurer, and yield to me the secrets of your power! <<

Duty Dialogue
Nero tol Scaeva: I have taken the liberty of preparing an electrifying stage for you.
Nero tol Scaeva: I will lay Garlond low, but first I must break you!

Nero tol Scaeva: Meet one of my creations. You might find it a handful.

Nero tol Scaeva: <pant> I will not suffer...to be in another's shadow!

Cutscene
Nero tol Scaeva: This changes...nothing...

Nero tol Scaeva: Ahahahaha! The Ultima Weapon is activated, and it brims with the power of eikons! Nothing can withstand its might!

Cid: Are you all right!?
Cid: What of Nero!? ...Fled!? Damn it!
Cid: In the instant prior to the blackout, the instruments detected a massive power surge from the deepest chamber.
Cid: Gaius is certain to be there! We have no time to waste!
Cid: Word arrived from the Alliance a short while ago. It seems the Order of the Twin Adder has completed its blockade of Castrum Centri.
Cid: What hands they can spare are hastening this way even as we speak, and likewise for the Maelstrom. All that's left is to destroy the Ultima Weapon!
Cid: ...I should warn you: the chamber which houses the target appears to be saturated with aetheric energies. There's bound to be heavy interference.
Cid: But even if we lose contact, you must go on. Just don't do anything I wouldn't do, all right?

Cutscene
Cid: Look for the lift's control panel─it'll be somewhere nearby.
Cid: Take the lift down, and you should find yourself in the chamber of the Ultima Weapon.

Cid: Keep your eyes peeled─Gaius could be waiting for you down there.
Cid: Oh, and don't even think about dying. You're too bloody useful!
Cid: The interference is getting worse. I don't think the connection will last much─

Gaius van Baelsar: Tell me...for whom do you fight?
Gaius van Baelsar: Hmph! Do you believe in Eorzea?
Gaius van Baelsar: Eorzea's unity is forged of falsehoods. Its city-states are built on deceit. And its faith is an instrument of deception.
Gaius van Baelsar: It is naught but a cobweb of lies. To believe in Eorzea is to believe in nothing.
Gaius van Baelsar: In Eorzea, the beast tribes often summon gods to fight in their stead─though your comrades only rarely respond in kind. Which is strange, is it not?
Gaius van Baelsar: Are the “Twelve” otherwise engaged? I was given to understand they were your protectors. If you truly believe them your guardians, why do you not repeat the trick that served you so well at Carteneau, and call them down?
Gaius van Baelsar: They will answer─so long as you lavish them with crystals and gorge them on aether.
Gaius van Baelsar: Your gods are no different from those of the beasts─eikons every one. Accept but this, and you will see how Eorzea's faith is bleeding the land dry.
Gaius van Baelsar: Nor is this unknown to your masters. Which prompts the question: why do they cling to these false deities? What drives even men of learning─even the great Louisoix─to grovel at their feet?
Gaius van Baelsar: >> The answer? Your masters lack the strength to do otherwise! <<
Gaius van Baelsar: For the world of man to mean anything, man must own the world.
Gaius van Baelsar: To this end, he hath fought ever to raise himself through conflict─to grow rich through conquest.
Gaius van Baelsar: And when the dust of battle settles, it is ever the strong who dictate the fate of the weak.
Gaius van Baelsar: Knowing this, but a single path is open to the impotent ruler─that of false worship. A path which leads to enervation and death.
Gaius van Baelsar: Only a man of power can rightly steer the course of civilization. And in this land of creeping mendacity, that one truth will prove its salvation.
Gaius van Baelsar: >> Come, champion of Eorzea, face me! Your defeat shall serve as proof of my readiness to rule! <<
Gaius van Baelsar: >> It is only right that I should take your realm. For none among you has the power to stop me! <<

Duty Dialogue
Gaius van Baelsar: Let us dance, champion of Eorzea.

Gaius van Baelsar: Know your place!

Gaius van Baelsar: Impressive! Now it is my turn!

Gaius van Baelsar: Come, we shall see if you can finish what you have started.

Gaius van Baelsar: If you will not yield, then you will be destroyed!

Gaius van Baelsar: Eorzea is mine by right!

Gaius van Baelsar: That you should still stand... Very well, then!

Cutscene
Gaius van Baelsar: I had not thought to be so hard-pressed.
Gaius van Baelsar: Your strength is...most impressive. Such power befits a ruler!
Gaius van Baelsar: Yet you lack the resolve to put it to proper use. A waste.

Lore
The Hour Of Reckoning
A fortress within a fortress rising at the heart of Castrum Meridianum, the Praetorium houses the XIVth Imperial Legion’s command center, wherefrom Gaius van Baelsar directed his army’s operations realm wide.

Occupying the underground levels is a magitek research facility headed by Tribunus Nero tol Scaeva, a brilliant engineer responsible for the development of myriad machina of war. Of the many projects to his name, none was more groundbreaking than the revival of the Ultima Weapon. Created to suppress eikons, it was the Black Wolf's key to his conquest of Eorzea—and the Alliance's primary target in Operation Archon.

The Ultima Weapon
A counter-primal weapon of unparalleled might, the Ultima Weapon is a relic of ancient Allag discovered deep beneath Gyr Abania in a nigh-forgotten, ruin-sized site. Through the ingenuity of Nero tol Scaeva, it was restored to working order and made battle-ready, but dark rumors surround its source of power, the Heart of Sabik, which some claim was gifted from the Ascians.

Gaius van Baelsar
A general and governor both, his many accomplishments include the conquest and political assimilation of five enemy cities. Fearsome in battle, he personally rose to challenge those adventurers who stormed Castrum Meridianum, wielding his gunblade Heirsbane with deadly effect.

More
The ancient magick sealed within the Ultima Weapon wreaked untold havoc, tearing open a crater of charred steel. Defeated, Gaius van Baelsar is said to have been consumed by ravenous flames.

Companion icon2.png Companions are chocobos that fight alongside players. Players are not only be able to rank up their Chocobo Companion, but also customize the companion's looks and abilities.

A chocobo can be specialized into tanking, healing, or damage dealing (or even all three) by allocating their Skill Points into the Defender, Healer, or Attacker skill trees.

The chocobo's appearance can be altered with various bardings. Bardings are purely cosmetic; they give no bonus stats or other gameplay benefits. The chocobo's color can be changed, as well.

Chocobo Companions cannot be used in instanced duties such as Dungeons or Field Operations, but they may remain summoned while waiting for a queue using the Duty Finder.

All Chocobo Companions (and by extension the Company Chocobo, as they are the same bird) are considered male by the in-game text.

Obtaining
Players must have acquired their Company Chocobo by completing the quest My Little Chocobo.

Afterwards, after reaching level 30, players can unlock the Chocobo Companion system by completing the quest My Feisty Little Chocobo from Docette in Camp Tranquil, South Shroud (X:17, Y:28).

Summoning
Gysahl Greens are required to summon a Chocobo Companion. They can be purchased for 36 Gil each from many vendors throughout the world. When summoned, the chocobo is displayed as a party member and remains summoned for a 30 minutes, after which it is automatically dismissed.

While summoned, the player can feed the chocobo more Gysahl Greens to keep them summoned. Each Gysahl Green will add 30 minutes to the timer, up to a maximum of 1 hour. This timer is temporarily suspended when the chocobo companion is unavailable - such as while the player is in a city or instance, or while mounted.

After death or dismissal, players will need to expend another Gysahl Green to resummon their Chocobo Companion.

Ranking Up
A Chocobo Companion matches the player's level, but begins at Rank 1. While summoned, the Chocobo Companion can earn Companionexp companion experience points, which in turn will allow it to rank up. Companion exp is available through the following:
* Defeating monsters around the player's level in the open world.
** If the player's level is synced down for a FATE, then enemies defeated during that FATE will count as "around the player's level" and grant experience accordingly.
* Completing the Challenge Log entries Bosom Buddies I (defeat 20 enemies around the player's level for 5% of the current Rank's Companionexp experience), and Bosom Buddies II (defeat 100 enemies around the player's level for 10% experience).
* Chocobo Raising at a Chocobo Stable in a Player Housing area.

Chocobo Companions do not receive Companionexp experience through any other means, including FATE experience, Levequests, or Quests. Ranking up grants the Chocobo Companion Skill Points (SP) each level.

Ranks 11-20
Chocobo Companions will initially stop earning Companionexp experience once they reach Rank 10, at which point they must be fed a Thavnairian Onion, which will allow them to increase their Rank once more. This must be repeated for each rank until the maximum of Rank 20, after which a Chocobo Companion can no longer earn any additional Companionexp experience, Ranks, or SP. The amount of experience required for each Rank rises dramatically, and therefore it will likely take quite some time before a Chocobo Companion reaches the max Rank.
* Note: Thavnairian Onions can only be used when the Chocobo's EXP bar for their current Rank is at maximum.

Thavnairian Onions are normally obtained through Gardening - specifically, other plants must be Intercrossed (which requires a house, not an Apartment) in order to generate the onion seeds, and then the onion seeds must be planted and grown. Alternatively, onions can be purchased from other players on the Market Board, and 2 onions are available from yellow side quests in Heavensward areas:
* Landing a Stable Job, a one-off quest in The Pillars.
* A Hunter's True Nature, part of a long quest chain in The Dravanian Forelands.

The process of growing onions is generally considered cumbersome - growing a single onion takes 10 days, requiring watering every 48 hours or else the plants will die. This also only becomes profitable if the onions are farmed en masse, as opposed to the mere 10 a single player would need (8 if the 2 aforementioned quests are completed). Therefore, for most players the easiest solution is to simply buy them on the Market Board.
* For players on the Free Trial, which prevents them from trading, using the Market Board, and owning housing, there is a workaround to obtain onions: a house-owning friend can make them a Tenant and give them gardening permissions, which allows them to harvest onions from the homeowner's garden.
Empowering
Skill Points (SP) can be spent to grant a Chocobo Companion bonus stats and skills. Skills can be purchased in three specializations: Defender, Healer, and Attacker. These trees correspond to battle stances; when placed into a specific battle stance, the Chocobo Companion will exclusively use abilities from the corresponding tree. For example, a Chocobo Companion in Healer Stance will only use Spells unlocked in the Healer tree. Additionally, the Free Stance will instead instruct the Chocobo Companion to make their own decisions, and utilize any unlocked Skills from any tree.

Chocobo Companions earn an increasing amount of SP per Rank:
{| pve align-right
|-

Skills also cost an increasing amount of SP to purchase, starting at 1 SP and ending at 10 SP. Skills must be purchased in order within each tree. "Traits" are passive, and are always applied, regardless of the Chocobo Companion's current stance.

At Rank 10, a chocobo will have 55 SP, which is exactly enough to max a single skill tree. At Rank 20, they will have 165 SP, which is enough to max all three skill trees (since 55 * 3 = 165).

A Chocobo Companion's Skill Points can be refunded by feeding it a Reagan Pepper, purchased from the player's Grand Company Quartermasters for 48000 Company Seals, or from their Hunt Billmaster for 20 Allied Seals.

Due to the nature of the player's lack of control over the companion's attacks and positioning, it is recommended to avoid leveling the Defender tree first. The player will almost always out-enmity the chocobo, so Tank and DPS players should focus on leveling the Healer tree, while Healer players would benefit most from the extra DPS of the Attacker tree.

Appearance Customization
Chocobo Barding
A Chocobo's appearance can be customized using various Bardings. Bardings are purely cosmetic, and are equipped in three different slots: Head, Body, and Legs. Different Bardings can be mixed and matched to create a unique look for the Chocobo.

Additionally, any Bardings will also appear on the Chocobo when ridden as a mount. (Only affects the Company Chocobo mount. Does not affect any other mounts which also happen to be chocobos.)

Notes:
* Each individual skill costs its level in SP (level 1 costs 1 SP, level 2 costs 2 SP, etc).
* Skills in a tree must be unlocked in order - for example, the level 3 skill for the healer tree requires unlocking levels 1 and 2 in the healer tree first.
* With the above points in mind, the SP Costs listed in the table below are the total needed for that level.

Stances
Free Stance
The chocobo auto-attacks, while using all unlocked skills as they see fit. A Chocobo Companion will auto-attack the first enemy the player engages, alternating between using unlocked Weaponskills and Healer Spells. The Chocobo Companion's target can be changed by switching it to Follow, then back to Free Stance.

Tank Defender Stance
The chocobo auto-attacks, and they exclusively use unlocked Weaponskills and Abilities from the Defender tree.

A Defender Chocobo Companion will struggle to hold enmity for most players. Moreover, even in situations where they are able to do so, they will quickly die without any healing, as they are unable to use any Spells from the Healer tree while in Defender Stance, even if they are unlocked. If the player would like their Chocobo Companion to tank, they will need to be prepared to hold back their DPS as well as keep them healed. Due to this, the Defender Stance is the least useful of the stances.

Healer Healer Stance
The chocobo does not auto-attack, and they exclusively use unlocked Spells from the Healer tree.

This is a useful stance if the Chocobo Companion has no Attacker skills unlocked. They will use Choco Regen whenever a member of the party or themselves take damage, while Choco Cure will be used when dropping below 75% HP (other stances wait until 50% HP). Choco Surge will be used whenever it is off cooldown. The Chocobo Companion will also follow behind the player directly while in this Stance, so make sure they are lead out of the range of any ground-targeted abilities, or they will be hit by them.

Dps Attacker Stance
The chocobo auto-attacks, and they exclusively use unlocked Weaponskills from the Attacker tree.

While this stance is simple and straightforward, it should be noted that a max Rank Chocobo Companion with all unlocked Skills will get slightly more out of using Free Stance, even if the goal is raw DPS. This is because the cooldown of Weaponskills in the Attacker tree are not shared with those of the Defender tree. The increased enmity of Defender skills is inconsequential in any context, unless the player or their party's DPS is exceedingly low. They will also be able to sustain themselves and the party while in Free Stance, which they are unable to do while in Attacker Stance.

Food Effects
When feeding the below foods to a summoned Chocobo Companion, they will gain a boost to their stats for as long as they remain summoned.
* Buffs will persist while: the player is using a mount, or the player is in a city where the Chocobo does not follow them.
* Buffs will disappear if: the Chocobo's timer runs out, the Chocobo is defeated in combat, the "Withdraw" action is performed, or the player logs out of the game.
* Only one of these buffs can be active at a time. If a new buff is cast, it will overwrite the old one.
* If the food used is a Chocobo's favorite, then the buff from that food will be upgraded to level 2.
* Curiel Root's EXP bonus only affects EXP from battle, not EXP from stable training or the Challenge Log.
Please note that players may fall off the arena to their deaths.

Queen Eternal
*Legitimate Force: One of the boss's four hands will begin glowing, followed by another on the opposite side, indicating two sequential half-room AoEs from the glowing hands. In later usages of this attack, two hands on the same side may glow.
*Aethertithe: Will do continuous light magical damage for the next set of mechanics, requiring healing.
*The absorption of aether accelerates! A moving green grid will spawn on the arena. A section of the grid will become distorted and travel to the boss at a faster rate, indicating a conal AoE hitting that section of the arena. Anyone hit will be sucked in and instantly killed. There will be three AoEs in total each hitting a different section of the arena (northeast, middle, northwest)
*Coronation: Multiple moving orange targeting rings will sequentially appear and follow random players. A few seconds later, they will lock in (become partially green), and eight late telegraphed short line AoEs will converge on the middle of the targeting ring.
*During this, the main tank will be hit with a telegraphed physical tankbuster (Prosecution of War).
*Virtual Shift: Party-wide magical damage and transitions the arena to a smaller hourglass shape, leaving two gaps in the middle.
*Coronation: Now summons a moving line AoE telegraph, which will tether two players. The telegraph (which will always be horizontal) will follow the players to the average of their y-position and resolve a few seconds later.
*Downburst: Telegraphed radial knockback from one corner of the arena. Players should position to be knocked back across the diagonal to avoid falling off, or use knockback immunities.
*Brutal Crown: Five floating noulith-like appendages will converge on one position, indicating a donut AoE with a late telegraph.
*Powerful Gust: Telegraphed horizontal knockback from the east or west. Players should position to be knocked back across the top or bottom edge to avoid falling off, or use knockback immunities.
*Virtual Shift: Party-wide magical damage and reverts the arena to its original state.
*Coronation (the moving baited line AoE) is used again but is now combined with Aethertithe.
*Royal Domain: Party-wide magical damage.
*Mechanics repeat until the boss uses Virtual Shift again, which now transitions the arena into two smaller, disconnected rectangles. This will also give everyone debuff Gravitational Anomaly, causing them to float and allowing them to freely maneuver around the arena. Note that touching the border will still result in death.
*Castellation: The boss summons a castle wall on the north, leaving some holes within. The holes will either be at the top or the bottom. The castle wall will charge forward and knock back and kill any player that it hits (Besiegement). As they are currently floating, players must position to be in line with a top hole.
*Gravity increases, making you fall. Players will stop floating and must position to land safely on one of the two small platforms to avoid falling off.
*Castellation is used again, but players must now be in line with a bottom hole to avoid being killed.
*Gravity deceases, making you float. Players will begin floating again and will need to resolve Castellation using the upper holes again.
*The boss will use Legitimate Force again and players will lose ability to float afterwards.
*Virtual Shift reverts the arena to its original state again.
*Absolute Authority: A slow cast that begins a fast-paced series of mechanics:
*During this sequence, the the boss will continually pulse magical damage, so healing and mitigation are recommended.
**Four players (all DPS) are given a flare marker and should move away from the party.
**All players are given an red overhead stack triangle and should stack with at least one other person.
**Multiple circle AoEs spawn, leaving some safe spots where players should stack together.
**Another set of circle AoEs appears, leaving new safe spots.
**The debuff Authority's Hold (acceleration bomb) debuff given to all players resolve, so they should stop moving in the new safe spots to avoid taking damage.
**Both healers are given a gaze indicator. Other players should look away from them, or they will be petrification petrified.
**Shortly after these mechanics resolve, the party's limit gauge will automatically fill completely. If several deaths were incurred, a healer may wish to use a level 3 Limit Break at this time to quickly resolve them. Similarly, a DPS may wish to use Limit Break during the cast of Absolute Authority in order to avoid overcapping the limit gauge.
*Divide and Conquer: Sequential telegraphed line AoEs on random players dealing magical damage, followed by another set of telegraphed line AoEs hitting all players at once. Spread out.
*Aethertithe is used again, but the donut AoE indicator will begin appear partway through the room cleave, so players should lean towards that side of the room when dodging the cleaves.

Mechanics repeat until the boss's health reaches around 30%, after which a cutscene will play and a short "victory lap" phase begins.

*Dynastic Diadem: Telegraphed donut AoE directly in front of the boss.
*Royal Banishment: Five hits of party-wide magical damage. During this, telegraphed conal AoEs will originate from the boss and should be dodged.
*Partway through the phase, each player will receive debuff Dawn's Resolve, increasing their damage dealt.

Mechanics repeat until the boss is defeated.

FrostyExplosion: typo fix

buff Fisher's Intuition is a beneficial status effect: "Heightened senses are improving chances of discovering rare fish only obtainable under special conditions."

The conditions to trigger Fisher's Intuition are different for every fish requiring it, as is the duration of the buff. They will be detailed in the fish's conditions. Fish requiring Fisher's Intuition are completely uncatchable without it.

Overview
Progress to trigger Intuition
Progress toward intuition is granted at the instant that the caught fish enter the player's inventory.
* In the case of collectables, this occurs after answering "yes" or "no" to the collectables pop-up window.

Progress toward an intuition buff is retained if the player Quits the fishing stance, moves, and then resumes fishing in the same fishing hole. Progress persists even if the player changes job, logs out, gathers using Botanist or Miner, engages in crafting or combat, etc.

However, progress will be lost if any of the following occurs:
* The character leaves the zone through any means.
* The character enters an instanced duty (as this counts as leaving the zone).
* The character manually changes the current zone instance at an aetheryte.
** However, being moved to a different instance automatically (for example: as a result of logging in/out) will not reset progress.
* The character casts into a different fishing hole, using their fishing rod.
** However, spearfishing will not void progress.

Start of Intuition
When intuition begins, a heartbeat sound will play and a pulse visual effect will appear on the screen, alongside a unique message for the intuition fish arriving.

During Intuition
During an Intuition buff, as long as the target fish's other requirements are met (time of day, previous weather, and current weather), then the target fish is temporarily added to the pool of possible fish in the fishing hole.

The intuition buff is maintained even if the player Quits the fishing stance, and then enters it again.

While an Intuition buff is active, the player cannot make progress toward activating Intuition again.

Refreshing Intuition
If the player has the level 50 trait Fisher's Instinct, and an intuition buff is currently running, then catching one of the required fish again has a chance to refresh the intuition buff back to its full duration.

End of Intuition
If the intuition fish is caught, the buff will instantly end, a chime sound will play, and a success message unique to the fish will display on the screen.

If intuition ends by timing out without the fish being caught, a unique departure message for the fish will display instead.

Last cast chime
If the intuition buff runs out during a cast, but the target fish is about to bite for that cast (since the fish is already determined at the start of a cast), then the chime will play, but the departure message will not display. This scenario can be seen in the video below.

Notes:
* The chime sound might not always play, or may play late, if the game is otherwise playing too many sounds at once (for example, playing the sounds of nearby fishers). However, the departure message will always not display if the bite is guaranteed, regardless of whether the chime plays. Therefore, the absence of the departure message is a more-reliable indicator of the guaranteed bite.
* Performing any action that rerolls the fish on the hook (such as Modest Lure or Ambitious Lure) will forfeit the guaranteed bite.
* While this mechanic indicates that the target fish is guaranteed to bite, it makes no guarantee about whether the player will successfully hook that fish.

Spearfishing
Spearfishing has two distinct mechanics that function similar to Fisher's Intuition.

Swimming Shadows
Catching a certain amount of specific kinds of fish at "Teeming Waters" nodes will spawn a "Swimming Shadows" node, which contains exclusive fish.

Progress towards a Swimming Shadows node is kept even if the player gathers at Teeming Waters nodes from a different location.
* It is also possible to make progress toward multiple different Swimming Shadows nodes simultaneously.
* However, progress is lost upon leaving the zone.

Once spawned, a Swimming Shadows node will persist until the player interacts with it or leaves the zone.
Spearfisher's Intuition
When gathering at a Swimming Shadows node, catching a certain amount of specific kinds of fish will trigger a "Spearfisher's Intuition" buff.
* Progress is only tracked for the current node, and progress is lost if the node's wariness maxes out.
* Once intuition activates, the target fish is added to the pool of fish that can appear in the node.
* Intuition lasts for a timed duration, or until wariness maxes out - whichever happens first.
* If the target fish is still on the screen when the intuition buff falls off, it can still be caught.
