From harvest festivals to parades marking the passage of the seaons, Eorzea has long been home to colorful local celebrations. It is not until the year 1470 of the Sixth Astral Era, however, that such traditions began to expand past their regional borders into the Eorzea-wide celebrations we know today.

With the Autumn War at its end, the era that followed was marked by peace and the proliferation of trade. Owing to the advent of the chocobo carriage, overland routes extended across the realm, and the adoption of gil as a common currency saw coin flow freely across national borders.

As wares and their peddlers began to roam, so too did culture. Ul'dah's great caravans brought not only supplies and sundries to distant lands, but tales of unfamiliar customs as well. For instance, Little Ladies' Day, celebrated in the sultanate since 1267, captured faraway hearts—and coinpurses—with its Legend of the Lost Lady. With both intellectual curiosity and economic interest driving their rise to prominence, it is little surprise that several once-local traditions became a source of shared joy throughout the realm, and proud symbols of Eorzean culture.

'''Fran''' and the '''Saraab''' were kept separate from the rest of the peacekeepers of the city, acting as protectors of order behind the scenes. She and the others had complete authority to do what they needed to ensure the safety of the city, even if it involved the nobility or members of the royal family. Because of this, only members of the '''Saraab''' knew who the other members were.

When the [[Garlean Empire]] invaded '''Dalmasca''' and began to lose, the people fought blindly for the royal family, throwing themselves into the '''Imperial''' forces to no avail. The casualties continued to mount and the '''Empire''' grew closer to victory every day. Knowing that if the royal line remained, the people would still fight for them, and as it stood the '''Dalmascans''' had no chance of winning. So [[Prince Rasler]] commanded the '''Saraab''' to carry out an "assassination" on [[Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca]], having it seem like she had died but would be taken to safety where she could someday lead the people in a revolution against the '''Garleans'''. '''Fran''' was unable to tell the truth to even the '''Fusiliers''' like [[Ba'Gamnan]], who grieved the princess' passing and felt he was to blame for it. She harbored immense guilt over this, and due to the events of the expedition into ancient [[Ivalice]] and '''Ba'Gamnan''' being turned into a horrific monster, she never got the chance to make amends.

Returning to the [[Prima Vista]], '''Fran''' admits that she had originally only joined to steal a piece of Auracite and lay waste to the '''Empire''', but now that she had learned of the threat '''Ultima''' posed to the world, she wanted to help. *Having bid Ryne farewell, you return to your mission in the First─consulting Elidibus regarding the Final Days. To that end do you seek out the Crystarium gatekeep, who should admit you to the Ocular as before.

*Inside the Umbilicus, you use your borrowed spirit vessel to activate the Allagan console, which locates Elidibus's imprisoned essence and projects his image into the chamber. Though your erstwhile foe declares that the star is now yours to fight for, bound as ever by duty, he agrees to share his knowledge. To your surprise, it was none other than Fandaniel who shed light upon the phenomenon of the Final Days, and thence dedicated himself to devising a countermeasure. Prior to joining the Convocation, he served as the chief of Elpis─a facility for the evaluation of creations─and was known as Hermes. Perhaps inspired by an impossible memory of you in that ancient time and place, Elidibus suggests that you travel to Elpis in the past. At his instruction, you open a pathway to your destination, and step into the portal. The magick consumes Elidibus's essence once and for all, and he goes to join his beloved brethren as you journey to your distant destination in search of salvation.

*After hurtling through the rift, you safely arrive in what you assume is the past, albeit in a transparent form. Setting aside that problem for now, you begin exploring your surrounds.

*As Elidibus had forewarned, you are unable to interact with the people present. From snatches of their conversation, however, you establish that you are indeed in the past, more specifically in a facility called Propylaion. Having learned all you can here, you decide to continue your exploration outside, and make your way to the exit.

*As you try to open the door, the inconceivable happens: two new arrivals emerge from the teleportation device, and who should they turn out to be but Hythlodaeus and Emet-Selch.
