Announcement
Alexander is the primal summoned by the goblins into a large abandoned fortress. Players will be exploring this fortress and battling Alexander from the inside, which will be explained at a later time. There will be a normal and hard mode. Normal mode will be more accessible to players, and won't be as difficult as the binding coil was. Hard mode will be extremely challenging, more-so than the binding coil. Completion of the binding coil is not required to enter this raid, only completion of the new storyline.

Lore
Since the Sharlayan exodus, a structure has stood steady against the flow of the Thaliak River. Now, the Illuminati have summoned a primal around this rusting ruin─a terrible colossus of steam and metal. Steel screamed against steel when it rose from the waters, and it drank deep of the land's aether before grinding again to a halt.

The voices of Idyllshire cry out, asking for aid ere their homes are crushed under the weight of iron. You must lead a band of valiant adventurers into the machina and discover how to destroy the core─lest the giant screeches again to life, and bleeds all the realm dry.

Scholars are healers with fairies as their pets. Scholar is evolved from the class Arcanist, as is Summoner. Wielding books, Scholars have all the abilities and traits of Arcanists. They can also use all the cross-class abilities of Thaumaturge and Conjurer.
The most important stat for the scholar is mind, which increases healing magic potency. The level of your Scholar is equivalent to that of your Arcanist. Scholars use books as weapons, and do not equip anything in their off-hand.

Requirement
* Level 30 Arcanist
* Level 15 Conjurer
* Completion of Main Scenario quest: Sylph-management
* Completion of Arcanist Class quest: Sinking Doesmaga

After completing the level 30 Arcanist quest and fulfilling the aforementioned level requirements, speak with Murie, the Arcanist Guild Receptionist. You will receive the quest Forgotten but Not Gone, which will grant a Scholar Soul Crystal upon completion. Additional Scholar quests are available every 5 levels from Alka Zolka inside the Marauder's guild in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.

The Scholar job is equipped through the armory chest soul crystals tab in the bottom right-hand corner. It may be removed by unequipping the soul crystal in the bottom right-hand corner of the character window.

Bonus attribute points previously spent in the Arcanist class are not reset when the scholar job is equipped.

The World of Darkness is the third and final part of Crystal Tower. It is a dungeon that requires a full raid of 24 players with item levels of at least 90. Similar to Syrcus Tower, the raid composition is 3 tanks, 6 healers and 15 DPS (1:2:5 ratio).
*The World of Darkness was released in patch 2.5.
Players can only obtain 1 reward item per week. Reward eligibility is reset every Tuesday at 12:00 AM PST.
*Reward: 100 Allagan Tomestones of Soldiery and 20 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics
Unlock
*Quest: The World of Darkness (Quest)
*Quest-giver Location: Rammbroes - Mor Dhona (x30,y12)
*Prerequisites: Completed Syrcus Tower
Bosses
Angra Mainyu
Double Vision, a floor-covering AoE that is split into red and white, which gives a stacking debuff depending on what colour you're standing on. The white AOE will give a "Sullen" debuff and the red AOE will give an "Ireful" debuff. The stacks will reset to 1 if you alternate which colour you stand on when it hits. If you get 2 stacks of the debuff you will take 2.5k damage. If you get 3 stacks you will die.

When he casts Mortal Gaze, anyone looking in his direction will receive a Doom debuff that kills you in 10 seconds. Stand on 1 of 4 circular platforms that is lit up to remove this debuff. You can also turn away from the boss when he casts the ability to completely avoid the Doom debuff.

Roulette, signified by a finger and a cone that rotates clockwise around the boss room, occurs when 4 Final Hourglass spawn at the outer edge of the room. Kill the 4 Final Hourglass one by one in a clockwise direction. To avoid being killed, do not stand in the quarter that is lit up when the last Final Hourglass dies. As long as all four of the Hourglasses die, you will be able to run out of that section if you happen to be in it.

Level 100 Flare: Red ball spawns on a player and a red circle appears on the ground. This ability tethers several players to 1 player. You need to run out of the circle to cancel the ability. Players will all die if the total number of players in the circle is an even number.

Level 150 Doom: Purple ball spawns on a player and a purple circle appears on the ground. This ability tethers several players to 1 player. You need to run out of the circle to cancel the ability. Players will all die if the total number of players in the circle is a multiple of 3.

Five-headed Dragon
Ice Floor's AoE expends if it hits a player. When you see a white, circular swirl on the ground, run away.

The poison Slimes need to be killed to stop them from joining together and casting silence on the entire raid. Killing them causes them to burst into poison resistance buffs. Wherever the slimes spawn, there will be a puddle of slime left over. At least one player needs to stand in the puddle to prevent more slimes from spawning and turning into a Toxic Slime.

When the boss channels Discordance you have to kill the 5 extra heads that appear or the raid will wipe. I have seen him use this multiple times, so stay on your toes if your DPS is slower.

The boss will occasionally mark a player with a symbol similar to the lightning ball symbol from Scylla in Syrcus Tower. When this happens, a small number of players (usually 3-5) need to stack on this player to split the damage. If this does not happen, the player will receive 9999 damage, likely killing them unless they are a tank with over 10,000 health.

When you see Prominence, red circles spawn on the ground followed by red or white balls, kill the red balls ASAP because they explode and deal 1.5k to 2k damage.

Red Bird Tether attaches to a player and inflicts a debuff, the player needs to run and touch another player before the debuff kills them.

Heatwave is a raid-wide attack used when the boss' HP is low. For 5 seconds, every action you make will deal 500 damage. DO NOT CAST ANYTHING while you have the debuff on!

Howling Atomos (3rd Trash Pull)
Everyone stacks on one side including tank. One person will get marked, they have to go to the other side and get devoured by themselves and will be spit off the platform. Then someone in the party has to stand in the light circle, and that person can jump back up. Stand right under the mob when it's casting Shockwave because if you're not in that purple puddle you will get knocked off.

It might be useful for the person that gets marked to run opposite the group and then run off the edge once the marker fades so they don't get sucked in but it still turn the boss away in time. Then no one takes damage.

Cerberus
When Cerberus becomes unchained and starts Thrashing, one group needs to stand next to the Gastric Orb mob to get hit by Mini spell and shrunk to a small size. The same group then stands in the Purple Goo to get eaten by the boss. Once inside, the group needs to kill the adds in his stomach. When the adds are dead he will stop thrashing, and will "slump to the ground in pain". Groups outside the stomach need to use the two tethers to re-chain him while he is weakened - both tethers need to be re-attached to each of the Open Fetters on his sides.

Alliance A should focus on the adds.
Alliance B should go into Cerberus' stomach.
Alliance C should focus on re-chaining Cerberus whilst he is weakened.

*If he is not re-chained, Cerberus' haste buff will stack out of control.

*Do not stand in the purple goo if you don't have the Mini debuff, as it is an instant kill when Cerberus attempts to eat you.

Cerberus has a Tail Swipe attack that hits players behind him in a cone.

Ululation is a roar that causes players who are not around other players to become feared for 15 seconds. Stay near your party members to avoid the fear effect.

Cloud of Darkness
Any time CoD moves around the ring, she fires a massive laser through the center of the area. When she disappears, immediately move to the sides. This attack will give a vulnerability debuff.

Throughout the fight, CoD will spawn comets that mark off small areas in a regular pattern across the area. AT LEAST 1 PERSON has to be in each comet area before the comet reaches the ground or suffer extensive raid wide damage. The person in the comet area will take a hit, but this can be split among the people standing in the area when the comet falls and becomes negligible with just two or three players.

A random player will get targeted with a floating marker. After a few seconds, blasts will start falling from the sky chasing after the target player. The blasts move towards the player at running speed, so use Sprint if they get too close. Each blast adds a Vulnerability Up debuff and it will kill you quickly if you let it. The player targeted should start running a lap around the outside edge of the area, away from all other players because those blasts can and will hit anyone caught by them.

During the next phase, worm adds will spawn around the area. Hitting them once or twice causes them to disappear. The worms add many debuffs like Morbol's Bad Breath to anyone standing too close to them. Stay away and let the ranged DPS handle.

After the worms, the floor of the area will light up and cloud and storm adds will start spawning. These MUST be killed quickly. They slowly make their way toward CoD and if she eats them she gets a damage buff for her next, raid-wide attack. If she is allowed to consume too many she will wipe you with the attack. The clouds can be affected by Heavy but not by Bind. If anyone stands between the clouds and CoD, it will add the Heavy effect to them.

After the cloud phase is done she will do a raid-wide attack that will hurt a lot. AoE heals and protection buffs are important.

Next phase she will spawn 3 clouds in a triangle formation. These clouds have a box shaped outline around them and each party HAS TO get in one of the boxes. A, B, and C should have their own cloud and this should be marked ahead of time. After a few seconds the box will go up and make it impossible for anyone to enter or leave until the clouds are either dead or explode. The raid will survive one of these exploding, some might survive two, none will survive three. Kill 'em quick.

Almost immediately after the clouds in boxes phase, many comets will spawn all around the area. If you aren't ready for this, you will wipe, probably multiple times. Everyone needs to spread out right after the clouds in boxes are down and each comet MUST be taken by at least one person. It may be prudent to save the Healer LB3 for this phase if your alliance screws up.

After the big sequence of comets ends, comets will start spawning along with clouds and storms. Comets must be taken by at least one person and clouds and storms must be killed before they make it to CoD. Ranged DPS is key here, prepare to get a workout.

After this, the phases just start repeating. This bitch has a LOT of health so prepare for a slog if your DPS isn't up to snuff. Ideally DPS LB3 should be used but like I said, you may end up using that Healer LB3.
Lore
In the twilight of his reign, the first and last emperor of Allag, Xande, desired power above all else. He turned to the terrible being known as the Cloud of Darkness, a ruler of the void, and asked of her strength to make the world kneel before his throne with a covenant of blood.

When Xande was slain, his ambitions were laid to rest alongside him. Yet the Cloud of Darkness still seeks to enter the material realm, and will soon find passage through the Voidgate set to manifest within Syrcus Tower. With the fiend's coming, can the fellowship of NOAH brave the void and rescue the three souls able to stem the Cloud's flood of shadows, or will the expedition itself vanish beyond the rift in the World of Darkness?
The Chrysalis is a level 50 trial that pits the players against Nabriales. It is part of the An Uninvited Ascian quest of the patch 2.5 Main Scenario Quest. The battle requires a full party of 8 players with average item level of at least 90.

Strategy
Phase 1: 100% - 80%
At 80%, Players should spread out and absorb orbs. If you alternate between the big and small orbs (big gives physical vulnerability, small gives magical vulnerability) then you won't take much damage. For each orb that hits him he will gain a stack. Small adds do not have much hp and perform a cone AoE. Stack up for heals and Sacred Soil if you have 3+ stacks. 7 stacks is instant death for non tanks.

Phase 2: 79% - 40%
He will cast double and then cast spark twice, tanks can taunt to help with this.

At 40%, he will perform the orbs again, see phase 1.
Phase 3: 39% - 20%
He will cast triple and then cast spark three times, again, tanks can taunt to help with this.

After second orb phase he will teleport around and cast end of days, a dodge-able straight line, but the teleports are quite annoying. He will also randomly cast Quake 3, which does AoE damage to party for about 2500 damage on non tanks.

At 20%, he will perform Meteor:

Floor will turn red and give you a bleed. You can run to the edge and keep running while you are sucked in, after the bleed hits 0 you are instantly sucked in. After you are sucked in, you are sent to a new room. Any buffs/debuffs that were affecting you before you were sucked into the vortex will have their duration multiplied by 10. To make the next segment easier, all DPS should use all damage buffs and Tanks should use Hp and Defense buffs.

Large meteors will fall, like on the final boss of ST during add phase. Tanks and one healer should be on meteor duty and run from meteor to meteor. Only one person needs to be in each meteor zone, healers may wish to both run to one each time to split the damage. If your tanks applied proper buffs, they should lose less than half their health each meteor. After the first meteor falls a tear will on its location that you must kill to end the phase. DPS should immediately focus this tear, using a Limit Break if needed. There is an visual tell in the middle of the room, an extremely large meteor that slowly falls and will wipe the party if it manages to hit the ground before the tear is destroyed. Meteors will continue to fall and tanks and healers should continue to run to the next empty meteor zone.

Phase 4: 19% - 0%
Tank and Spank, in this phase he simply recycles mechanics from Phase 2.

Images
Lore
A ruthless Ascian known as Nabriales has intruded upon the sanctum of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, spiriting away both the Antecedent and the powerful relic she refused to yield.
