Alexander - The Arm of the Son or A7 is the third floor of Alexander: Midas. It requires the player to have an average item level of 200 or above to enter.

Strategy
* At intervals, the boss will place a target on one player and send them to a cage in one of the four corners of the room. If more players are hit by this attack, they will also be sent to the cage.
** When one person is sent to the red cage, they must stand still and not use abilities while others break the padlock and free them.
** When one person is sent to the purple cage, they must fight an Alarum and kill it.
** When one person is sent to the third cage, they must fight a Gobwalker add and kill it.
** When one person is sent to the green cage, they must stand on the spout of gas.
* Kill the Panzers and Sturm that spawn when one person is sent to a cage.
* Kill the hearts that spawn when the cat (not targetable) is present.
* Avoid the rolling "Weight of the World" boulders.
* If you have a purple target, move away from others; the boss will cleave in your direction and apply a debuff.
*Drag bombs to the far corners of the room.

Loot
*Tarnished Midan Crank (Hands)
*Tarnished Midan Spring (Legs)
*Tarnished Midan Lens (Head)
Lore
You press further into the depths of the primal, and return to be greeted by Mide, who confesses that while the story of her past is true, the “fragment” she handed over to the Illuminati was nothing more than a useless rock. Not all is well, however, as Wedge informs you of Roundrox's capture by the Illuminati. Your objective is now clear─press further into Midas, and rescue the innocent goblin from her captors!

Strategy
* Tank the boss in the corner to make it easier to avoid the very large AOE from bombs.
* Adds will spawn in the corners of the room; they need to be tanked.
* If you get a red-orange marker over your head, run away from the party. This will drop a large puddle.
* The tower in the center of the room has a purple circle around it. Standing near the circle brings up two puddles on the sides of the room:
** Red puddle will turn you into a gorilla, giving you a skill to knock bombs far away from the party before they explode. (More bombs will spawn each time he summons them. First one, then two, then three.)
** The violet puddle will turn you into a bird. When the boss is extra large and uses "Boost," become a bird or you'll likely die to his mulitple groundpound attacks. Skill #1 allows you to do a little damage, skill #2 will turn you back into yourself.

Loot
*Tarnished Midan Bolt (Accessories)
*Tarnished Midan Pedal (Feet)
*Tarnished Midan Chain (Waist)

Lore
Although you succeeded in destroying the core of Gordias, it seems that was only a temporary measure. The walking fortress has stirred once more, and its left arm now rests on the banks of the Thaliak. The entrance lies open and unguarded, suggesting the goblins inside are as surprised as you. Take advantage of your enemy's unreadiness and face the Illuminati threat once more─hopefully for the last time.

Aether Currents are required to unlock the ability to fly on mounts. Each zone released in Heavensward (3.0) has 15 Aether Currents (with the exception of Azys Lla, which only has 5). Players are required to attune to all 15 Aether Currents to unlock flying in that zone. Some Aether Currents are found scatter through the zone (blue->green), others are rewarded by completing Main Scenario Quests and Side Quests (red->yellow). Aether Currents in field look like greenish blobs of wind, players can right click on them to attune. Players can check their attunement progress through the Aether Currents window under Travel in the main menu.

Unlock
Aether Currents are unlocked after completing the 3.0 Main Scenario Quest Divine Intervention. The same quest that awards the player the Black Chocobo and Aether Compass.

Aether Compass
Aether Compass gives you the bearing and distance of the nearest Aether Current upon use. It is used to locate Aether Currents in the field and can be found in your Key Items tab of your bag. If you lose it you can talk to Gibrillont at the Forgotten Knight to get another.
Duty Roulette is a feature for the Duty Finder introduced in the patch 2.1. Duty Roulette allows the player to participate in randomized duties. Duty Roulette is divided into 4 categories: Leveling, High Level, Main Scenario and Guildhests. In Patch 2.2, Trials and Expert were introduced. In Patch 2.5, Frontline was introduced.

Currently players can only use the Duty Roulette while solo. They cannot join as groups (except for High Level and Expert) or with a Companion out.

Rewards for Duty Roulette
The Duty Roulette offers a daily reward that give the players a combination of experience, Grand Company Seals, Gil, Allagan Tomestone of Poetics and/or Allagan Tomestone of Law, depending on the type of duty.
*The Gil amounts and Company Seals given are based on a level 50 class.
*The "In Need" Bonus is given to the party role (Tank, Healer or DPS) that is most needed for the Duties in that category. It is given in addition to the normal reward and doesn't have a daily limit. Most of the time, Tanks are the most needed role although sometimes Healers are needed. DPS classes are most common and as such are rarely ever in need.
Expert Duty Roulette
The Expert Duty Roulette places the player into one of the new random level 60 light party dungeon released in last patch. These new dungeons are considered harder than those in previous patches and require a higher average item level. Like the High Level Duty Roulette the roulette will only become available after unlocking and completing all the dungeons in the roulette. As of patch 3.0, the following dungeons make up the Expert Duty Roulette:

* Neverreap
* The Fractal Continuum

As of patch 3.0, due to the above dungeons, an average item level of at least 145 is required.

High Level Roulette
The High Level Duty Roulette will put the player into a random level 50 light party dungeon. Unlike the Leveling Duty Roulette, the roulette will only become available after unlocking and completing all the dungeons in the roulette. As of patch 3.0, the following dungeons make up the High Level Duty Roulette:
*The Keeper of the Lake
*The Wanderer's Palace (Hard)
*Amdapor Keep (Hard)
*The Wanderer's Palace
*Amdapor Keep
*Pharos Sirius
*Copperbell Mines (Hard)
*Haukke Manor (Hard)
*The Lost City of Amdapor
*Halatali (Hard)
*Brayflox's Longstop (Hard)
*Hullbreaker Isle
*Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard)
*Stone Vigil (Hard)
*Snowcloak
*Sastasha Seagrot (Hard)
*The Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard).
As of patch 2.4, due to the above dungeons, an average item level of at least 80 is required.

As of patch 3.0, experience is awarded only after completion of dungeon.

Leveling Roulette
The Leveling Roulette will put the player into a random light party dungeon under level 50 (level 60 as of patch 3.0) that the player has unlocked; or one of the three original primal trials from the main story quests (The Bowl of Embers, The Navel and The Howling Eye). Players can participate in the Leveling Roulette once they have unlocked a dungeon at level 15 or higher. The daily reward for Leveling roulette depends on your character's level and the level of the dungeon / trial. Players below level 50 will receive a larger sum of experience along with Company Seals and Gil. Additional experience will be given to the player if they run a dungeon that is far below their level. Level 50 players will receive a daily amount of Allagan Tomestones.

As of Heavensward, Sohm Al, The Aery, The Vault and The Great Gubal Library are included, which are above level 50.

Trials
The Trials Duty Roulette will put the player into a random trial. Like the Leveling Duty Roulette, the roulette is available even if you have not unlocked all trials in the roulette (e.g. you do not have to have completed all of the Heavensward or Manderville trials before accessing the roulette). As of patch 3.0, the following trials make up the Trials Duty Roulette:
*Cape Westwind
*The Bowl of Embers (Hard)
*Battle on the Big Bridge
*A Relic Reborn: The Chimera
*A Relic Reborn: The Hydra
*The Howling Eye (Hard)
*Thornmarch (Hard)
*The Navel (Hard)
*The Whorleater (Hard)
*The Striking Tree (Hard)
*The Dragon's Neck
*The Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Hard)
*The Chrysalis
*Battle in the Big Keep
*The Steps of Faith
*Thok ast Thok (Hard)
*The Limitless Blue (Hard)

Main Scenario Roulette
Main Scenario Duty Roulette will place the player into one of the two full party dungeons from the finale of the main storyline quest, either Castrum Meridianum or The Praetorium. Completing both dungeons is necessary to unlock this roulette.

Guildhests Roulette
Guildhests Duty Roulette places the player into a random guildhest the player has unlocked. Players can begin to participate in this Duty Roulette at level 10 or higher. Roulette unlocks automatically when you unlock your first guildhest. Higher level guildhests are unlocked when players complete the previous set and are at least the same level as the next set, in increments of 5 levels until level 40.

Frontline Roulette
Introduced in patch 2.5, Frontline Roulette places the player into either Borderland Ruins (Secure) or Borderland Ruins (Slaughter).

Alexander or Alexander Normal is a level 60, 8-player raid announced during the Fan Fest 2014 in Tokyo. The first section of the raid was released on July 7, 2015, two weeks after the release of Heavensward. Players do not need to have completed The Binding Coil of Bahamut in order to participate in Alexander.

Alexander: Gordias
Alexander: Gordias is the first section of Alexander released on July 7, 2015. It requires a minimum item level of 170.

Rewards
Alexander Normal rewards tokens that can be exchanged to gear at Sabina in Idyllshire (x5,y5). Players can only obtain 1 token per floor per week.

See Alexander: Gordias Rewards

Announcement
Alexander is the primal summoned by the goblins into a large abandoned fortress. Players will be exploring this fortress and battling Alexander from the inside, which will be explained at a later time. There will be a normal and hard mode. Normal mode will be more accessible to players, and won't be as difficult as the binding coil was. Hard mode will be extremely challenging, more-so than the binding coil. Completion of the binding coil is not required to enter this raid, only completion of the new storyline.

Lore
Since the Sharlayan exodus, a structure has stood steady against the flow of the Thaliak River. Now, the Illuminati have summoned a primal around this rusting ruin─a terrible colossus of steam and metal. Steel screamed against steel when it rose from the waters, and it drank deep of the land's aether before grinding again to a halt.

The voices of Idyllshire cry out, asking for aid ere their homes are crushed under the weight of iron. You must lead a band of valiant adventurers into the machina and discover how to destroy the core─lest the giant screeches again to life, and bleeds all the realm dry.

Bosses
Ser Adelphel
Ser Adelphel uses a few moves. To begin with, he will have 3 adds with him, all of whom have extremely low health. When you've killed the others and gotten Adelphel around 30%, he will change forms, knocking everyone back and beginning the true encounter.
* When he casts Holy Shield Bash, he will target one player, jump to them, and perform a stun and hit combination.
* When he casts Holiest of Holy, he will deal moderate damage to every player in the room.
* At intervals, Adelphel will charge around the room, dealing damage and leaving behind orbs of light. These will deal damage to players upon exploding. When he is done charging, he will target one player and come crashing back down to them.

Ser Grinnaux
Like Ser Adelphel, Grinnaux first has a trivial health pool and will at one point change forms, knock everyone back, and unleash his full potential.
* Grinnaux has multiple ground pattern AOEs to watch out for.
* At regular intervals throughout the fight, Grinnaux will put down a Hyperdimensional Slash attack that lays out a red AOE before him in the direction of a random player. When this goes off, it will deal damage to anyone in its wake and leave an Aetherial Tear where it hits the wall of the room. This attack is always repeated twice in a row. Best strategy is to bait the Tears to the same general part of the wall so they aren't spread around; they will tether to and damage any player that gets too close to them. This is exacerbated by....
* After using his Slash attack to put out two Aetherial Tears, Grinnaux will use Faith Unmoving, a room-wide attack with a cast bar. This attack will push all players directly backward from Grinnaux. Make sure your back isn't to one of the Aetherial Tears; this is why it's beneficial to keep them all close together, so you have a safe place to get pushed back to.
* Grinnaux will also put out a Dimensional Rift circle AOE that will damage players.

Ser Charibert
Ser Charibert does not have a phase switch like the other two; he starts out at full power.
* Charibert will do room-wide damage with Altar Pyre.
* Charibert will use a Holy Chain to chain two players together. Simply run away from each other to break this chain; otherwise you will take recurring damage.
* Charibert will cast Heavensflame and put out flame rings on the ground.
* At regular intervals, he'll summon a broken row of "knights." Like the mummies in The Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard), these will march across the room from wherever they spawn (they always spawn on the same side, though). Avoid being run over by these knights, as they will put Slow on you.
* At one point, Charibert will disappear for a moment. When he reappears, he will have a Dawn Knight and Dusk Knight with him, and summon several Holy Flames around the outside of the room. The Knights can safely be ignored; just make sure not to stand in their AOE attacks. Kill the Holy Flames quickly. After a short while, Charibert will cast a room-wide attack and go back to his normal skills.
* When Raskovnik consumes a hornet he will gain one stack of damage up. The hornet must be consumed via Devour. Kill hornets before they reach Raskovnik
(and don't bait his Devours towards them) to avoid this.
Demon Tome
The Demon Tome is similar to the Demon Wall in Amdapor Keep, with a few added skills.
* Like the Demon Wall, the Demon Tome will cast an AOE down the middle of the room, then the sides.
* As he is between casting the two previous attacks, the Demon Tone will also cast Dark Blizzard III, a circle AOE that will target a random player.
* The Demon Tome will occasionally cast Disclosure and "begin to glow." This signals that you need to run along the sides of the arena to the backs-side of the Tome. Anyone on the wrong side of it when it closes will be killed instantly.
* The Demon Tome will cast Words of Winter, an attack similar to Shiva's ground freeze - when the ground is frozen, you will move a certain length in the direction you attempt to use. Unlike Shiva, this is not all the way to the edge of the arena; it is a matter of several yalms.

Byblos
Byblos is a book demon, and the second boss of The Great Gubal Library.
* At intervals, Byblos will run to the center of the book that summoned him and become invincible. Shortly after, two books will spawn with adds in them. Kill the adds quickly. When they die, they will draw a tether between them and a given player (like the ice, fire, and lightning orbs in the Scylla encounter in Labyrinth of the Ancients. Draw this orb into Byblos to break his invulnerability.
* After one invulnerability phase, Byblos will begin spawning clouds of oil fumes around the room. These will cause 2k damage when you run through them, so take them in turns, carefully, to keep them from stacking up.

Everliving Bibliotaph
The Everliving Bibliotaph has a few ground-pattern AOE attacks in addition to:
* At 3 intervals throughout the fight, Bibliotaph will begin casting Void Summon. Platforms on the ground will light up, and they will need a certain number of players to stand on them in order to cancel their summon. When one light on the platform is lit up, only one player is needed to stand on it to cancel the summon. When two lights on the platform are lit, two players must stand on it. When three lights are lit, the platform needs three players. Before this fight, figure out who will go with who for the first two phases, and plan to run all together for the final (three-person) phase. If a platform's summon is not canceled, that platform will summon a voidsent add to the boss fight.
* At intervals, Bibliotaph will mark players with targets. If you are targeted, run to one side of the arena between platforms to bait the AOE he will place on you. This will pulse several times and inflict damage and Vulnerability on players.

* At regular intervals throughout the fight, Grinnaux will put down a Slash attack that lays out a red AOE before him in the direction of a random player.
* Grinnaux will also put out a Rift circle AOE that will damage players.

* Charibert will put out flame rings on the ground.
# Defeat Ser Charibert

Like Ser Adelphel, Grinnaux first has a trivial health pool, and will at one point change forms, knock everyone back, and unleash his full potential.
* Grinnaux has multiple ground pattern AOEs to watch out for.
* At regular intervals throughout the fight, Grinnaux will put down a Slash attack that lays out a red AOE before him in the direction of a random player.
This attack will push all players directly backward form Grinnaux. Make sure your back isn't to one of the Aetherial Tears; this is why it's beneficial to keep them all close together, so you have a safe place to get pushed back to.
* Grinnaux will also put out a Rift circle AOE that will damage players.

Ser Charibert
Ser Charibert does not have a phase switch like the other two; he starts out at full power.
* Charibert will do room-wide damage with Alter Pyre.
* Charibert will use a Holy Chain to chain two players together. Simply run away from each other to break this chain; otherwise you will take recurring damage.
* Charibert will put out flame rings on the ground.
Bosses
Rangda
Rangda is a lightning-themed boss with a few straight-forward mechanics.
* Electric Cachexis is a long-cast attack that will attack everyone outside of Rangda's melee range. (Similar to Dragon's Voice from Cutter's Cry).
* When Rangda places the Prey debuff on you, run to one of the tall pillars encircling the room to transfer it.
* Kill adds as they spawn.

Gyascutus
Gyascutus is a poison-themed boss.
* Gyascutus will place clouds of poison around the room. For each cloud out, Gyascutus will gain a stacking damage buff.
* At intervals, bombs will spawn. Allow these to eat one or two of the gas clouds to manage how many buffs the boss has before killing them.

Final Boss
* The Crimson Price will put out increasing numbers of fiery orbs (starting with 2, with one more each time the attack is repeated) that do burning damage for a short period of time, then fire off a line AoE. When the final boss faces you while casting this attack, simply take a few steps to one side.
* The Sable Price will trap one player, causing them to float as it casts Sable Weave. If Sable Weave is allowed to complete, the trapped player will die.
* At about 30% health, the final boss will retreat to prepare an instant-death attack. During this time, multiple waves of adds will spawn and try to attack your NPC ally. It is important that tanks pull aggro of adds and face them away from the NPC so they do not die. Kill adds as quickly as you can - when the final one dies, your NPC ally will put up a protective shield to save you from the instant-death attack. If your NPC dies or the adds do not die quickly enough, you will wipe.
* No new mechanics after this point, simply a repeat of the Crimson Price and Sable price attacks until the boss is dead.

Raskovnik
* Rafflesia's little sibling. Will use some similar mechanics, including something like Rafflesia's Floral Trap - which can be avoided the same way.
* Kill adds.

Myath
* A dinosaur-like boss who will use a room-wide shout and spawn gelatinous adds.
* Focus down the green add as soon as it spawns.
* Otherwise, prioritize red over blue adds. Myath will eat these adds and use an attack based on which color he consumes.

Tioman
* A lot of AoEs to dodge, including some that come in tricky combinations.
* Will cast Comet and mark players with meteor markers similar to T9, which should be dealt with the same way (place comets on outsides, run to the middle to avoid Meteor Impact damage).
* At low health, will gain health bars on both wings.
