Hydra is a boss monster in the [[A Relic Reborn]] [[quests|quest]]. A group of up to 8 players can tackle the boss. Players' average item level (iLvl) needs to be 52 or above to enter the trial.

Wyvern can inflict the DoT [[poison]] on its target and can use the ability Bravery to increase Hydra's damage if it is left alive for an extension period of time.

==Strategy==
During the boss fight, Triumvirate can destroy a tank in 1 hit. Because the ability deals less damage to multiple targets, your party should have 2 tanks standing in front of the boss. Melee classes should also avoid its White Breath attack. Players should stand in either melee range or long range because Radiant Breath deals massive damage to all targets in medium range.

*[[White Mage]] can use [[Esuna]] to remove debuffs, however Infirmity cannot be cleansed.

Players should avoid the Ball of Ice and Fire attacks and stay away from the patches of ice and fire on the ground. When Hydra runs to the center of the room, it will cast Fear Itself. Players should stack on top of the Hydra to avoid getting damaged and feared. Players should tank the Hydra near the wall so it will be apparent to everyone when it runs to the center of the room.

When Hydra spawns the the Wyvern, players should kill it ASAP to avoid allowing it to buff the Hydra.

==Strategy==
When the battle begins players should pull the boss to the outdoor area outside of the cave. By doing this the party will have more room to maneuver. Throughout the boss fight, melee players should avoid Dragon's Breath and Ram's Breath when possible. They should also avoid staying behind the boss and triggering Scorpion's Sting. The Breath attacks can also be interrupted by stuns and silences. Ranged damage dealers and healers should spread out across the battle field. When the boss uses Cacophony on a player, he or she should move away from other players.

*[[White Mage]]'s [[Esuna]] is useful for clearing debuffs such as paralysis.

When Chimera begins to use Ram's Breath, all melee players should move out of the melee range of the boss. When Chimera begins to use Dragon's Breath all ranged players should move to the melee range of the boss.

Players should always be aware and move out of the Ram's Keeper, a large circular ground indicator, as soon as possible.

The Bowl of Embers (Hard) is a level 50 [[trials|trial]]. It requires a full party of 8 players. In The Bowl of Embers (Hard), players will face the fiery [[Ifrit]]. The Trial is unlocked by completing the quest [[Ifrit Bleeds, We Can Kill It]].

*Players are awarded with 15 [[Allagan Tomestone of Poetics]] for completing The Bowl of Embers (Hard).

==Strategy==
*As of 2.1 the strategy for this fight has changed. Eruption can no longer be stunned indefinitely. The new format allows stun to work three times before full resistance is built for 1 minute or so. Make sure if you are stunning Ifrit, that no other players are using stuns, and that you only stun eruption.

===Phase 1===
For the first phase, non-tank players should not stand in front of Ifrit. This is due to several of his abilities:
* '''Incinerate''' is an instant frontal breath attack that deals a moderate amount of damage to all targets in front of Ifrit.
* '''Vulcan Burst''' is an instant attack that deals small amount of damage to all players near Ifrit. Also causes knockback.
* '''Eruption''' is an ability that appears as red crackling glow under a random player. After a few seconds the ground will erupt, dealing heavy damage to all players within.
* '''Crimson Cyclone''' is an ability used by Ifrit. He stands at the edge of the boss room, in a sprinting pose for a few seconds. Ifrit then dashes forward, dealing heavy damage to all players caught in his path.

Tanks should tank the boss at the edge of the boss room so ranged damage dealers and casters do not get hit by Vulcan Burst. Players should interrupt Ifrit's Eruption with stuns as often as possible. When Ifrit uses Crimson Cyclone, his charging attack, players should not be in front of the boss.

At about 3/4 [[HP]], phase 2 begins.

===Phase 2===
During phase 2, Ifrit will gain two new abilities:
* '''Sear''' is an instant attack that deals small amount of damage to all players near Ifrit.
* '''Radiant Plume''' is an ability that places glowing red circles on the ground. The circles will explode and deal heavy damage to all targets within after a few seconds.

Plumes in this phase are outer plumes then inner plumes. Followed by Eruption then Cyclone.

===Phase 3===
At roughly 50% hp. Ifrit will summon 4 nails. The nails are top priority. After a period of time Ifrit will perform his signature ability '''Hellfire'''. If any nails remain, Hellfire will instantly kill all players, but if they are all destroyed Hellfire will instead only do heavy damage to all players. It is highly recommended to gather up when Hellfire occurs but not on top of the main tank. If the healers are slow at healing this damage, vulcan burst could follow doing damage to all in range.

It is recommended that any BLM's in the party use the Limit Break on the Nails to make quick work of them. Although not a necessity, it can provide breathing space to a party lacking good DPS.

As of 2.1. Ifrit's Infernal Nails have had a drastic upgrade to damage nullification from Limit Breaks. Pre 2.1 a caster dps Limit Break 2 or better would destroy the nails outright. Now in 2.1 the nails will still have around 20-30% hp. If you do not have caster dps limit break, have the melee dps down the first nail. One dps should advance to the second nail and Limit break. Destroy the 3rd nail. Limit break should be up again at this point for the 4th nail (if not, it should be really close). Limit break then finish off the fourth nail.

===Phase 4===
After Hellfire has been cast, Ifrit enters phase 4 where he has all the abilities from phase 2 excluding Hellfire.

The order of attacks is:
*Outer Radiant Plumes
*Inner Radiant Plumes
*Eruption (should be stunned)
*Zone wide Radiant plumes (safe spot is behind Ifrit)
*Followed by Dashes. Left Ifrit always dashes first. (3 Ifrits)

==Gear Requirement==
Current gear requirements to complete Ifrit Hard Mode are varied. It is recommended for DPS, Tanks and Healers to have at least a one or two pieces from [[Amdapor Keep]].

Trials are encounters where adventurers fight together against extremely powerful creatures. Each trial consist of a single boss fight. When the boss is defeated, players are rewarded with story progression, tokens or rare items of sorts. Some trials require a [[Party#Light Party|light party]] of 4 players while others need a [[Party#Full Party|full party]] of 8. Most trials are unlocked first as Hard Modes by progressing through the main story quests; with their upgraded Extreme Mode available though side quests.

Trials are encounters where adventurers fight together against extremely powerful creatures. Each trial consist of a single boss fight. When the boss is defeated, players are rewarded with story progression, tokens or rare items of sorts. Some trials require a [[Party#Light Party|light party]] of 4 players while others need a [[Party#Full Party|full party]] of 8. Most trials are unlocked first as Hard Modes by progressing through the main story quests; with their upgraded Extreme Mode available though side quests.

Lord of the Whorl (Extreme) is a level 50 [[trials|trial]] that requires the player to defeat [[leviathan|Leviathan (Extreme)]]. It requires a full party of 8 players and average item level (iLevel) of 80 and above. To unlock the trial, player must first complete the [[quests|quest]] [[Whorl of a Time]] by talking to [[Urianger]] in [[The Waking Sands]] - [[Western Thanalan]] (x6,y4). Players must have completed the quest [[Through the Maelstrom]].

*Players will receive 20 [[Allagan Tomestone of Poetics]] for the completion of the trial.

==Strategy==
===General Tips===
Always keep an eye on Leviathan, no matter what else you're doing. If he vanishes, check for the geyser and run to the opposite end of the arena.

Kill the adds quickly. The Wavetooth Sahagin do nasty things if they live too long. The Gyre Spumes reduce the Elemental Conversion, which is required to survive Tsunamis.

===Abilities===
Body Slam - The start point is signaled by a geyser animation. Leviathan will then emerge from the water and body slam the platform, pulling everyone towards that side. If you're too close, you can take damage or fall off entirely (when the railings are gone. When you see the geyser, run to the opposite end of the arena.

Spinning Dive - Also signaled by an identical geyser animation, plus water spheres falling from the sky. Take note of where the geyser is, Leviathan will leap from that point in a straight line across the arena. If you are in his path you will take damage and be pushed (if the rails are down, you'll go off the edge)

===Phase 1===
The railings are up in this phase, providing a safety net if you miss the Body Slam or Spinning Dive. Leviathan dives into into the water after taking 10% damage, does a Body Slam, and then splits into the head and tail. As with the other versions, the head reflects physical damage and should be targeted by casters. The tail reflects magical damage and should be targeted by everyone else.

Though their beloved god was slain at the hands of the Warrior of Light, the Sahagin have wasted little time in mourning his passing.
