Be not fooled by the lush and fertile island you spy on the horizon─men and vessels alike have been lost to its allure, never to be seen again. Yes, the wisest choice is to dismiss it as mere illusion. But of course, there are inevitably those who cannot resist the call of adventure.}}
Occult Crescent is a Field Operations series that was released starting in patch 7.25 (May 27, 2025) of the Dawntrail expansion. It takes place on an island within the Shades' Triangle near Tural and incorporates aspects from both The Forbidden Land, Eureka and Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr (Bozja).

Players are able to equip and level up secondary jobs known as Phantom Jobs, giving access to additional actions and traits within the field operation. These jobs are directly based on Final Fantasy V jobs, including some that are existing FFXIV jobs (e.g. monk, bard) and others that were not suitable for implementation as a full job in FFXIV (e.g. chemist). However, this does not necessarily rule out the possibility that some jobs may receive a full implementation in the future.

Battle encounters in this field operation are inspired by those found in Bozja, including open world FATEs, and critical engagement-like boss encounters (called Critical Encounters) taking place within enclosed arenas. There is also a high-end raid, The Forked Tower: Blood, that allows up to 48 players to participate.

Similar to previous field operations, the Relic Weapon series for Dawntrail (Phantom Weapons) are tied to Occult Crescent activities, although players can also progress their weapons via existing activities outside of the field operation.

Unlock
Occult Crescent Quests
To begin unlocking Occult Crescent, players must complete the quest One Last Hurrah which requires completion of Dawntrail (Quest) and be level 100 Disciple of War or Magic. The first zone is unlocked by completing Unfamiliar Territory in this quest chain.

Gear
Phantom Armor
To enter the Occult Crescent, players must have an average item level of at least 690.

Occult Crescent zones have an item level sync of 700, meaning that IL 700 Neo Kingdom Weapons, Neo Kingdom Armor, and Neo Kingdom Accessories melded with certain materia are tentatively the best-in-slot starting gear, although there are some exceptions. Neo Kingdom gear can be purchased from Ryubool Ja in Tuliyollal (X:13.9 Y:13.5) for sack of nuts Sacks of Nuts. Using higher item level gear will cause materia melds to be ignored due to item level sync calculations, resulting in lower damage.

Starting gear sets for each job are provided here. It is not necessary to go out of the way to farm this gear, as the damage difference compared to syncing down higher item level gear is fairly marginal.

By obtaining specific items within Occult Crescent, players may obtain and upgrade Phantom Armor, providing additional main stat within these zones and Special Attribute, increasing their damage dealt by Phantom Job actions. As the item level (745) of this armor is higher than the IL sync, materia melds will be ignored, but this is outweighed by the bonus stats.

There are also special IL 745 accessories (Occult Accessories) that can be rarely obtained from Critical Engagements, random overworld coffers, Persistent Pot coffers, and Happy Bunny treasure coffers in The Occult Crescent: South Horn. These are also tradable directly on the Market Board. Similar to the upgradable armor, each accessory provides additional main stat and Special Attribute. There are 10 accessories, 5 each for disciples of war and disciples of magic. Equipping all accessories in a set will provide an additional bonus to these attributes.

Zones
As of patch 7.25, Occult Crescent consists of one field zone and one 48-player high-end raid within the zone.
Knowledge Level
Similar to Elemental Level in The Forbidden Land, Eureka, players have a separate leveling system in Occult Crescent, which is represented by Knowledge Level. Overworld enemies are also assigned a knowledge level. Specifically:
* Enemies with a lower knowledge level than the player will aggro only if attacked, while those with an equal or higher level will automatically aggro based on their aggro type (e.g. sight, proximity, etc.).
* Enemies with a higher knowledge level than the player will both deal more damage and take less damage based on the difference in level.

Upon reaching knowledge level 5, players will lose knowledge points if they are incapacitated and return to camp without being resurrected. Losing too much experience will result in a demotion in knowledge level. At knowledge level 20, returning without resurrection will result in a 20,400 knowledge loss, thus needing 1 Critical Encounter's worth of knowledge to re-level to 20.

Knowledge can be earned from quests, defeating overworld enemies, and completing FATEs and Critical Engagements. The amount of knowledge earned from FATEs and Critical Encounters will scale based on the player's current Knowledge Level. Defeating higher knowledge level overworld enemies relative to one's current knowledge level will also yield greater knowledge compared to lower level enemies.
|}

Phantom Jobs
Phantom Job
Players may equip secondary jobs known as phantom jobs to gain access to additional actions and traits. Any phantom job may be equipped by any regular job, although some phantom jobs synergize better with certain roles. This system replaces the Logos Actions and Lost Actions in previous field operation series. Players may freely change their phantom job outside of combat from the Occult Crescent UI.

Phantom jobs can also be leveled up separately to unlock additional actions and traits. Up to 5 phantom job actions can be assigned on the Duty Action bar, although a scroll button allows players to cycle through the currently active phantom job action to prevent button bloat.

There are initially 13 phantom jobs available, including the default . After freelancer, the first 3 jobs are unlocked through a starting quest, while the others are unlocked from using phantom job-specific Soul Shards that can be purchased with Occult Crescent currency or as drops from specific Critical Encounters.

Each time the player masters a phantom job (i.e. reaches their level cap), they will gain a stack of Phantom Mastery, permanently increasing their damage dealt and healing potency within Occult Crescent zones, regardless of which phantom job they have equipped.

Parties
Like other field operations, Party Finder is disabled within Occult Crescent. Players may form premade parties outside of the instance or post recruitment via /shout chat inside.

If all members of a party are within 3 knowledge levels of each others, it will be classified as a Balanced Party and be eligible for EXP chains (see next section). If not, the party leader may use an option in the Occult Crescent UI to sync all members' knowledge level to the lowest-leveled party member. Typically, unless if the party is specifically farming overworld mobs for EXP chains, it is advised to disable knowledge level sync by default.

Battles
EXP Chains
Higher-level enemies relative to the player's knowledge level are harder to defeat. However, defeating high-level enemies with a double crescent symbol will initiate an timed EXP chain, giving enhanced EXP and rewards. The bonus yielded increases incrementally up until chain 30, beyond which the bonus is capped.

During solo play, the threshold is based on the player's own knowledge level. While in a balanced party, the threshold is based on the party's average knowledge level. The exact thresholds are as follows:

*Solo: 2 levels higher
*2 players: 3 levels higher
*3 or 4 players: 4 or 5 levels higher
*5 or 6 players: 6 or 7 levels higher
*7 or 8 players: 7 or 8 levels higher
: Chain bonuses will not occur when defeating enemies whose knowledge level falls outside the applicable threshold.
Enemies that can generate an EXP chain upon defeat are indicated with a special icon.

FATEs
Occult Crescent FATEs
FATEs will spawn at certain areas on the map and can be challenged by any number of players. Players may join a FATE that has already started. All FATE spawns are automatic with no prerequisite mobs.

FATEs have two types: either a single boss (purple symbols) or multiple waves of enemies (blue symbols), the latter of which are tied to the Persistent Pot minigame. Up to one boss FATE may spawn at a time per instance. The pot FATEs spawn on a 30 minute timer and alternate between the two possible FATEs.

FATEs and Critical Encounters are agnostic to knowledge level. Players at any knowledge level may participate in them, and it is not necessary to have a Balanced Party to receive rewards. Players should avoid syncing down their knowledge level when participating in a FATE or traveling to a FATE/Critical Encounter as this will make them more vulnerable to high-level enemies that are nearby the FATE area or en route to the FATE/Critical Encounter.

Critical Encounters
Critical Encounters (CEs) are large-scale boss encounters, similar to Notorious Monsters in Eureka and Critical Engagements in Bozja. There is no limit to the number of players that may participate in one (aside from the 72-player instance limit). Some CEs must be spawned by defeating prerequisite overworld enemies, while others spawn periodically on a timer.

When a Critical Encounter is about to spawn, it will be displayed on the map and a blue AoE telegraph will appear on its spawn location. Players who wish to participate must travel to inside the AoE before the 3-minute timer expires, after which the arena will enclose and the encounter will begin. This system is designed to alleviate "early pulls" in Eureka but will still require players to travel to the spawn location instead of queuing from anywhere as in Bozjan Critical Engagements.

Being hit with any avoidable AoEs will inflict a stack of vulnerability up Vulnerability Up that lasts indefinitely for the rest of the encounter or until the player dies. Unlike with Bozja, there appears to be no tangible reward for completing Critical Encounters with no vulnerability stacks.

Upon completing a Critical Encounter, players have a random chance of receiving the Battle High status for 15 minutes, increasing their Critical Hit and Direct Hit Rate and providing healing-over-time.

Knowledge Crystals
Phantom Jobs#Knowledge Crystals

Knowledge crystals are landmarks that appear near aetherytes and prior to encounters in the Forked Tower. Using certain phantom job actions near a knowledge crystal will provide long-lasting beneficial effects to all party members, such as reducing damage taken and increasing movement speed, depending on the action.

Treasure Coffers
The Occult Crescent: South Horn/Treasure Coffers
Personal treasure coffers spawn in Occult Crescent field zones, which can be claimed individually. For more information on treasure coffer locations and drop tables, see the above link.

Bronze coffers contain one item while silver coffers contain three. Golden coffers appear when a Fortune Carrot is used near a chewed carrot on the ground, yielding items, 200,000 gil, and Occult Crescent-specific currency.

Persistent Pots
Persistent Pot
Similar to Happy Bunnies in Eureka, Persistent Pots can be rescued from monsters in certain FATEs. Upon receiving a gold rating in the FATE, up to 20 qualifying players will be able to participate in a minigame where they use a Magical Elixir key item to pinpoint the location of a hidden treasure coffer. Bronze, silver, and gold coffers respectively yield 1,000, 5,000, or 30,000 gil in addition to materia, items, and Occult Crescent-specific currency.

Currencies
Players may have up to 9,999 of each currency, which do not take up space in the regular inventory. Their current amounts are displayed in the Occult Crescent UI.

enlightenment silver piece Enlightenment Silver Pieces
Enlightenment Silver Piece
Acquired from FATEs, critical encounters, clearing The Forked Tower: Blood, exchanging excess Occult Crescent-related items with the Expedition Trader, Persistent Pot coffers, and Happy Bunny (carrot) coffers.

enlightenment gold piece Enlightenment Gold Pieces
Enlightenment Gold Piece
Acquired from defeating monsters in the wild, Persistent Pot coffers, and Happy Bunny (carrot) coffers.

Occult Record
Occult Record
Players can collect lore entries on various Occult Crescent-related topics, similar to the Field Records in Bozja. Certain Occult Record entries are required to progress with quests.

Release Schedule
*7.25: First field instance (Occult Crescent: South Horn), 13 phantom jobs, 48-player raid (The Forked Tower: Blood)
*7.3: Adjustments to entering the Occult Crescent with a pre-made alliance, adjustments to the Forked Tower: Blood entry process and increased rewards from Happy Bunny and Persistent Pot coffers.
*7.4: Three additional phantom jobs (dancer, mystic knight, gladiator), along with 10 rare accessories (5 each for DoW/DoM) boosting stats in Occult Crescent were added. In addition, the cost of Sanguine Ciphers were reduced by 67% (600 to 200 silver and 960 to 320 gold), and the knowledge loss for releasing after death has been reduced (30,600 to 20,400 at level 20).
Strategy
Lord of the Whorl: Leviathan
Phase 1
The boss will begin at the head of the ship. Here, players can simply attack the boss until either enough time passes or players push the boss to 90%. Once the boss reaches either of these thresholds, it will become untargetable and dive under the water. Players will need to be on the lookout for a large spume of water on either side of the ship. This indicates what side the boss's head will come up on, and at what end. For this first phase, the boss will always appear on the west side of the north of the arena. The boss will appear and use Body Slam, rearing up, then slamming down into the deck of the ship, stunning all players and causing them to slide to that end of the ship. Players caught under the boss will take some damage. From here the boss will become targetable, and its tail will appear opposite it at the other end of the ship.

Leviathan's Head and Leviathan's Tail are both targetable and mirror each others HP, so dealing 100 damage to the head will also deal 100 damage to the tail. The head is covered by a barrier called Veil of the Whorl that reflects Physical Ranged damage, while The tail is covered by a barrier also called Veil of the Whorl that reflects Magic damage, so casters will want to focus on the head, and ranged players will be on the tail. Melee players should target the tail so they can perform their positionals, but melee attacks on the head will not be reflected. The tail will only cast Scale Darts on its main enmity target. The head however, will have a host of new attacks that it can cycle through:
*Dread Tide: A Water elemental tankbuster fired at the main enmity target.
*Aqua Breath: A point-blank AoE attack that deals medium damage. This is cast periodically.
*Water Spout: Cast on random players, deals medium damage.
*Tidal Roar: Unavoidable party-wide damage.
During this phase, the boss will summon Wavespine Sahagins in sets of two. They will merely deal physical attacks to begin, but if not dealt with quickly, will start spam casting Hydroshot, which drops a large AoE puddle under a marked player. This puddle will debuff anyone who touches it with dropsy Dropsy, making them more vulnerable to Water elemental attacks. Players should focus on burning these ads down as they will continue to spawn in pairs throughout the fight.
Eventually the boss will also summon Gyre Spumes in sets of four. These enemies don't attack, but will drain 8 points from the Elemental Converter each every 4 seconds. These are a priority, as without the Elemental Converter, the boss will wipe the party with Tidal Wave.
The boss will sometimes become untargetable again and dive under the water, signaling what side of the ship it's moving to with another water spout. Simply be ready to move to the opposite end of the ship to avoid taking damage.
At about 60%, the boss will become untargetable and leap over the ship and use Grand Fall. This drops an AoE on a player that will sit where they were standing. Any player caught in this will be debuffed with heavy Heavy, greatly reducing players mobility. The boss will then begin jumping from end to end of the ship. This time, when players see the spout of water, they will need to move to the opposite side of the ship, as the boss will use Spinning Dive, dealing heavy damage and knockback.
When the boss begins using Spinning Dive, they will need to run to the end of the ship with the Elemental Converter, as the boss is preparing to use Tidal Wave, which will wipe the party if the converter is not activated in time. After this, the boss will Body Slam on an end of the ship, and the fight will continue.

Phase 2
The fight will continue as before, however the boss will now jump over the ship and drop Grand Fall occasionally, and begin moving from one end to the other and appear on random sides. The boss will also begin summoning Wavetooth Sahagins. Like the previous ads, they will perform basic attacks, casting Ruin. If not dealt with quickly, it will begin casting Dreadstorm, dropping a large AoE under a player which debuffs with hysteria Hysteria, causing the player to lose complete control and run around in random directions. If the player passes through the circle again, they will be rebuffed with hysteria Hysteria. If two Wavetooth's are casting this, things can get chaotic very quickly, so take them down immediately. Wavespine Sahagins will also spawn throughout the phase.
These mechanics will repeat until the boss is defeated.
* Wheel: Tankbuster.
* Magitek Fire II: Targeted Circle AoE
* Magitek Fire III: Group-wide AoE damage
* Wild Speed: Rushes around the room in line patterns. During this attack, two 12th Legion Optio adds will spawn and activate the cannons on the sides of the arena, bombarding random players with avoidable AoEs. Defeat the adds to commandeer their cannons and use its ability on Magna Roader to disrupt this attack. This attack will continue indefinitely until Magna Roader is hit with a cannon shot. Be warned that the Magna Roader cannot be harmed while it is speeding across the arena - wait for it to pause before firing.

Subject Number XXIV
* Elemental Overload: Partywide damage that is either fire, ice, or thunder-aspected, determining its next attacks.
*Fire
** Discrete Magick: Three telegraphed 120 degree conal AoEs
** Discrete Magick: Stack marker on random player (Fire II)
** Serial Magicks: Two sets of three conal AoEs, along with a stack marker on a random player
*Ice
** Discrete Magick: Telegraphed circular AoE (Blizzard II) on each player
** Serial Magicks: Two sets of crisscrossing line AoEs, immediately followed by circular AoEs on each player
*Thunder
** Discrete Magick: Two towers will spawn opposite each other and should be soaked by one player each (Thunder II). Failing to soak will cause these to explode for high partywide damage (Electrify).
** Discrete Magick: Telegraphed line AoE on each player (Sparking Current)
** Serial Magicks: Two sets of two opposite towers will spawn, along with telegraphed line AoEs on each player

*Note that after each set of elemental attacks, the boss will become staggered and receive a vulnerability up 2 Vulnerability Up debuff.
Lore
Thr Fire-Breathing Fortress
Situated on the eastern edge of the Peaks region, this imperial citadel is immediately recognizable by its massive cannon, whose menacing silhouette is visible scores of malms away. Such a weapon was constructed for the purpose of bringing down targets as prodigious as Midgardsormr, but it was no less effective against men, as was made plain during the siege of Specula Imperatoris. Heedless of their comrades fighting within, the Garleans turned the cannon on their own stronghold, inflicting grievous casualties on both sides.

As the war for Ala Mhigo’s liberation approached its climax, the armies of the Alliance and the Resistance sought to capture the castrum, but they could not march upon it for fear of the cannon’s barrage. A plan was devised which saw a small contingent infiltrate the garrison and secure control of the weapon. With it thus rendered dormant, the Eorzean Alliance was free to strike, and strike it did with overwhelming force to wrest the castrum from the Empire and secure a crucial foothold in the struggle.

Inferno
More monster than machina, this automaton was born of an accident in the course of synthetic muscle development. Unable to be controlled and able only to destroy, it was essentially a failed creation, but it found the castrum’s defense—in part to test its endurance—and was keenly observed by its creator, Aulus.

Number XXIV
Aulus mal Asina sought to infuse pureblood Garleans with fourth the ability to manipulate aether, and with his twenty-fourth subject he finally succeeded. The experiment was not without side effects, however, and the subject exhibited psychological instability. With further live testing, the scientist would go on to create the Resonant.

More
Housing also a facility for the research and development of weaponry, Castrum Abania boasts a well-developed internal transport network for conveying prototypes and provisions.
Prime Punutiy
*Punutiy Press: Party-wide magical damage.
*Hydrowave: Faces a player and uses a telegraphed conal AoE.
*Resurface: Moves to the deep water at the west of the arena and uses a telegraphed persistent conal AoE that inflicts heavy heavy. The boss will suck in debris and foliage. Afterwards multiple circle and line AoE telegraphs will spawn, requiring players to dodge. Finally, an untargetable Ihuykatumu Flytrap add will spawn and use a telegraphed donut AoE (Decay).
*The boss immediately follows with another Hydrowave.
*Song of the Punutiy: Summons four untargetable adds: two Prodigious Punutiy, one Petit Punutiy, and one Punutiy. Each add will tether and mark one player, along with spawning an AoE telegraph. Two players will be hit with large circle AoEs (Punutiy Flop), one with a medium circle AoE (Punutiy Flop), and one with a conal AoE (Hydrowave). Spread out to avoid overlap. Afterwards, the adds will become targetable and should be killed.
*Shore Shaker: A telegraphed point-blank AoE followed by two telegraphed concentric donut AoEs.

Drowsie
The boss will initially be sleep sleeping but will awake when pulled.

*Uppercut: Telegraphed tankbuster.
*Sow: Scatters four seeds on the ground.
*Drowsy Dance: Four telegraphed AoE circles appear, denoting locations where the seeds will sprout into untargetable Ihuykatumu Ivy adds. Each add will have an orange target ring denoting where they are facing. They will use Wallop a late telegraphed line AoE in front of them.
*Drowsie's dance invigorates the roots! The adds will enlarge and may also turn to face a different direction. They will use Wallop again, but the AoEs will be larger, making the safe spots smaller.
*Sneeze: Telegraphed wide conal AoE from the boss.
*Spit: Spawns numerous untargetable Red Clots, Blue Clots, and Green Clots. The adds will spawn circle AoE telegraphs and unavoidable circle AoE markers on single players (Flagrant Spread).

Apex Predator: Apollyon
*Blade: Telegraphed tankbuster dealing high damage.
*Wild beasts emerge to defend their territory... Three untargetable adds appear: two Ihuykatumu Pumas and one Ihuykatumu Ocelot, which begin attacking the boss.
*High Wind: Party-wide physical damage. Also kills the adds.
*The boss will begin eating the adds, empowering itself as indicated by the system message: Feeding on the beasts has strengthened Apollyon's wingbeats!
*Swarming Locust: Jumps three times around the edge of the arena, then uses four telegraphed line AoEs hitting most of the arena (Blades of Famine), creating safe spots to its southwest and southeast. The boss will then repeat this sequence.
*Levinsickle: Spawns four circle AoEs. Two of them will leave behind lingering lightning AoEs, which each spawn two sets of four telegraphed conal AoEs. Dodge into the first set.
*Thunder III: Spread marker on each player.
*Sandworms burst from the ground, drawn by the vibrations above... Three untargetable Ihuykatumu Sandworm adds appear.
*The boss will begin eating the adds, empowering itself as indicated by the system message:
*Blade: Telegraphed AoE tankbuster dealing high damage and inflicting windburn windburn. Then spawns a telegraphed donut AoE (Wind Sickle) on the tank.
*Razor Storm: Jumps to the wall and uses a wide telegraphed frontal cleave.
*Windwhistle: An untargetable Whirlwind add will spawn and begin rotating. Standing in the add will deal damage (Biting Wind) and knock the player back. While moving, it will telegraph 8 line AoEs (Cutting Wind) in a diffuse starburst pattern. There are 3 sets of AoEs in total.
*While the Whirlwind is active, the boss will use Razor Zephyr, followed by the Thunder III spread AoEs. These occur in between the Cutting Wind AoEs from the add.
Lady of the Vortex: Garuda
Tank should pull Garuda to the far north edge of the room. Rest of the party members should spread out and stay away from the stone pillars so her Friction and Wicked Wheel will not damage the pillars. Tanks should avoid Slipstream by running out of her line of sight.

Garuda will vanish, teleport and use either Mistral Song or Mistral Shriek once every 60 seconds or so. Players need to break line of sight by hiding behind the pillars whenever she uses either of those abilities.

When Garuda vanishes the first time, she will reappear at the far north edge of the room and cast Mistral Song. Players should break her line of sight by hiding behind the stone pillars. After about 60 seconds she will vanish and appear in the center of the room. She will then cast Mistral Shriek. Players need to hide behind the pillars and break line of sight with her.

After each Mistral Song or Mistral Shriek, Garuda will spawn a group of adds called Razor Plumes. Razor Plumes must be killed immediately. If they are left alive they will damage the stone pillars.

*Use AoE abilities to kill Plumes.

When Garuda is at about 50% HP, she will use her ultimate ability, Aerial Blast. The ability deals massive amount of damage to your entire party. The amount of damage dealt depends on the number of stone pillars kept alive.

*Keep stone pillars alive to reduce the damage of Garuda's ult.

Phase 2 begins after Garuda uses her ult.
Abilities
Downburst is an instant frontal cleave that deals a moderate amount of damage to all players in front of Garuda.

Friction is an instant ranged attack that damages a random player and all players near them. It also damages the stone pillars.

Wicked Wheel is an instant AoE attack that damages all players around Garuda for moderate amount of damage. It also damages stone pillars.

Slipstream is a frontal column spell that deals large amount of damage and stuns the targets hit. While it does not show up as a ground indicator, it can still be dodged.

Mistral Song allows Garuda to vanish and reappear on one side of the room, firing a blast of wind through the area. The ability does very heavy damage to all targets in her line of sight. Players need to hide behind stone pillars to avoid the damage.

Mistral Shriek allows Garuda to vanish and reappear in the middle of the room, firing a blast of wind through the area. The ability does very heavy damage to all targets in her line of sight. Players need to hide behind stone pillars to avoid the damage.

Aerial Blast is Garuda's signature ability. At around half health, she teleports to the center of the room and casts this ability. The damage you and your party members take depends on how damaged the stone pillars are. The more damaged the stone pillars are, the more damage you will take. Phase 2 starts after she uses this ability.

Adds
Razor Plume is summoned by Garuda in groups. While they will only deal a small amount of damage to the players, these Plumes will damage the stone pillars if they are kept alive.

<big><u>Phase 2</u></big>
In the second phase, 3 tornadoes (Great Whirlwind) spawns in the boss room. Players caught within the tornadoes will take massive amounts of damage. The tank should shift from the north position into a north-west position, while the ranged classes all stack on the wall directly to the West. You should end up in this arrangement. This will allow the Great Whirlwinds to appear harmlessly around everyone, as well as create a section for the adds to be tanked in.

After a short time, Garuda will vanish and re-spawns at the south part of the room along with 2 adds, Suparna and Chirada. These adds have similar abilities as Garuda. Tanks should tank these adds away from rest of the party to avoid Slipstream hitting everyone. One of the adds will have a green beam linked to Garuda while the other add will have a red beam linked to Garuda. Players must kill the add with the green beam ASAP because the add will heal Garuda when it's alive. Players should use cooldowns if necessary. Afterwards players should kill the add with red beam. The off-tank should grab the add with the red beam and tank it facing away from the group at this position. The main tank can also pick this add up if you're only running with one tank. This will be the heaviest damage during the encounter. One healer should focus on keeping the main tank alive through Garuda's increased damage while the other focuses on the large amount of AoE healing needed from Friction and Wicked Wheel hitting so many players.

Once both adds are brought down, the tornadoes will start to fade. As soon as the northern whirlwind fades, the tank needs to run along the wall to the north-east side of the room. The whirlwinds will start to rotate, forcing the group to move clockwise around the room. During this time, a group of Razor Plumes and a single Satin Plume will spawn. DPS should kill the Satin Plume as quickly as possible to avoid the sleep debuff. The Razor Plumes are easy to heal through, so ignore them in favor of more DPS on Garuda. Once you reach the East side of the room, the whirlwinds will fade completely and everyone should move to the middle of the room to prepare for Eye of the Storm.

While in the middle of the room, Garuda will vanish again, reappearing in the South with Suparna and Chirada spawning on the East and West sides of the room. Each of these adds should be tanked on the edge they come in at, with the main tank on Garuda (south), the off-tank on the add with a red beam (east or west) and all the DPS on the green beam add (East or West). This leaves the healers either in the middle or on the North edge, free to heal up everyone.

Once the adds have been finished off and Eye of the Storm fades, all the ranged players should move directly South, with the tank should move to the south-west position. More tornadoes will spawn, which will start to rotate as more plumes spawn. Once again focus the Satin Plume down and ignore the rest. You will rotate around the room until you're roughly in the same position you started Phase 2 at. She will vanish, spawning one last set of adds. Use Meteor, the level 3 limit break, to nearly kill both of them instantly and finish off Garuda. If she is not almost dead at this point, either DPS is too low overall or the add with the green beam has not been killed quickly enough each time and healed Garuda too much.

Abilities
Downburst is an instant frontal cleave that deals a moderate amount of damage to all players in front of Garuda.

Friction is an instant ranged attack that will damages a random player and all players near him. It also damages the stone pillars.

Wicked Wheel is an instant AoE attack that damages all players around Garuda for moderate amount of damage. It also damages stone pillars.

Slipstream is a frontal column spell that deals large amount of damage and stuns the targets hit. While it does not shot up as a ground indicator, it can still be dodged.

Great Whirlwind is a giant tornado that deals massive amount of damage to any players caught within.

Eye of the Storm is ability used by Garuda at the start of the second phase. This ability creates a whirlwind with an opening at the center of the room. Players must stay in the center of the room to avoid the extremely heavy damage from the swirling wind. The effect persists for the rest of the fight.

Adds
Razor Plume deals small amount of damage to random players.

Satin Plume casts the debuff Sleep on the entire party.

Suparna has similar abilities as Garuda. It can link to Garuda with a red beam which increases Garuda's damage. It can also link to Garuda with a green beam which heals her. Additionally it will cast Mistral Shriek if left alive for too long.

Chirada has similar abilities as Garuda. It can link to Garuda with a red beam which increases Garuda's damage. It can also link to Garuda with a green beam which heals her. Additionally it will cast Mistral Shriek if left alive for too long.

Add priority:

Satin Plume > Razor Plume
Lady of Bliss: Lakshmi
The trial begins with Lakshmi surrounded by a barrier, and flanked by a pair of Dreaming Kshatriya. Defeat them to lower Lakshmi's barrier and begin the fight, but bear in mind that Lakshmi will use area of effect attacks that also heal the Dreamers, so the party should concentrate on them one at a time rather than splitting attention.

Shortly after she begins fighting for herself, Lakshmi will leave the platform and prepare to use a special attack that is an instant kill on anyone not shielded by the Duty mechanic - Vril. Players can hold a single charge of Vril at any time and activate it whenever they wish; once activated, the charge lasts for around 30 seconds and significantly reduces the effect of Lakshmi's attacks. After this attack has been used once, she will not attempt to use it again during the regular version of the trial.

Replacement Vril orbs will spawn shortly before the time comes to actually use them; do not touch an orb if you already have a charge, as it will still consume the orb (meaning another party member won't be able to use it). The main times to use them are when Lakshmi moves to the centre of the platform and casts a platform-wide AoE with no safe zone. This inflicts heavy damage and knockback if you do not use your Vril, and falling off the platform is an instant KO (though you will return to the starting position and can be Raised).

Aside from the Vril mechanic, the fight is fairly straightforward and mostly involves positioning her area attacks. Lakshmi will apply the Target Left or Target Right states depending on which "Hand" ability she is using; one corresponds to a circular blue pool effect that grows larger if it deals damage to players, and the other corresponds to cross-shaped effects that originate from 2-3 random players at a time. She will also periodically mark someone with a large orange effect with arrows that point toward the target; when this occurs, stack up to spread the damage.

The fight is otherwise fairly straightforward until Lakshmi is defeated, though visually noisy and chaotic. Just don't stand in the AoEs (apart from the one you need to stack for) and you'll be fine.

* Important information:
** Kill adds 1 at a time
** You will need to pick up a replacement blue orb to use, pick up only one
*** Shortly after the adds are gone in the beginning of the fight
*** When she moves to the centre of the platform

===Notes===
*You must be equipped with a Zenith Zodiac Weapon in order to get Atma; however this can be any Zenith Zodiac Weapon / job.
**Paladins can choose to equip "either" the Zenith sword or shield, both need not be equipped, potentially making them stronger than other jobs when doing level sync 50+ FATEs
*Atma drop randomly from any FATE in that zone.
**The drop rate is 20% per FATE, which means on average 60 FATEs for all 12 Atma.
**Being in a party or having your Chocobo out has no effect on the drop chance. Being able to finish FATEs faster, however, will allow for more chances in the same amount of time.
**Your rating in the FATE doesn't affect your drop rate, but only successfully completed FATEs will drop Atma.
**You do not need to stay for the entire length of the FATE, however you must still be in the same map when the FATE finishes.
*When Atma do drop, you will be alerted in-game by a popup.
**Atma go into your normal inventory rather than your Key Item inventory. Make sure you have free space in your inventory.
**Because the quest is marked as "completed" after the explanation from Jalzahn; the game does not automatically track the number / type of Atma in your collection.
**You can collect multiple Atma of the same kind; however only one of each type is used per weapon upgrade.
*This is a good opportunity for you to train your Chocobo if you wish.
