Walkthrough
Hyperconductive Anima Weapons/Quest

Steps
*Take Quest from Ardashir in Azys Lla.
*Acquire the Aether Oil through whatever means necessary and deliver them to Ardashir.

Journal
*Ardashir is determined to supplement the anima's aetheric energies so that it might relay its thoughts clearly and concisely. To that end, he proposes improving the aetherial conductivity of the weapon not only to give the anima the strength to converse, but to allow those without the Echo to comprehend that which is communicated. Gerolt begrudgingly agrees to assist. To work on the anima weapon, however, he must first insulate his tools with a soulglaze, and for that he requires five pots of aether oil. He bids you seek out Eorzea's traders of ancient antiquities to procure what he requires.
**※You may not proceed with a class or job that is different from when you accepted this quest.

*You return with pots of aether oil in hand to find Gerolt in unusually high spirits. He soon reveals the reason for his good mood, namely that he has, in fact, consumed a large volume of spirits. Deaf to Ardashir's plea to lower his hammer, Gerolt begins pounding away with surprising speed and precision. It is not long before his work is complete and you take up a weapon seemingly alive with aether. As you raise it high to bask in its warm glow, the anima suddenly manifests itself to you. It is thankful for its newfound strength, and vows to do what it can to aid you in your coming adventures. Though he cannot yet perceive the anima, Ardashir is glad to see you sharing such a lengthy exchange, and looks forward to seeing how the anima will take shape under your guidance.

TOCRIGHT
Anima Weapons are the level 60 Relic Weapons for Heavensward. First released in patch 3.15, players do not need to complete the level 50 Relic Weapon or Zodiac Weapon quest chains to unlock the Anima Weapon quest chain. Players who have obtained the Zodiac Zeta Weapons will be able to skip the first step of Anima Weapon quest chain. This advantage is not job specific. For example, if players have obtained the WAR Zeta weapon they will still be able to skip while doing the DRK anima weapon.

Compared to ARR's Zodiac Weapons, the Heavensward relic steps are heavily based on items you can buy with Poetics Allagan Tomestones of Poetics and Grand Company Company seal Company Seals. Players can spend excess currency in advance before starting this quest chain. However, not all of the items are available for purchase before the quests have been started. After upgrading their Anima weapon to iLvl 230, players can buy glamour versions of past enhancement steps from the Restoration Node.

Relic weapons from past expansions are not intended for combat use, but for cosmetic and collection purposes. Better weapons for the same player level include those that drop from raids and those that can be bought with Poetics Poetics.
To unlock the quest chain, players need to be level 60 with a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic and complete the Main Scenario Quest main. You will then need to complete the one-time quest feature. Afterwards you will need to complete repfeature for each relic you wish to acquire. You will need to acquire an Astral Nodule and an Umbral Nodule from Syndony in Mor Dhona(x22,y5). There are two options for how to do so:
* Farm FATEs in each of the six Heavensward zones for crystals. You need one type of crystal from each zone. The drop rate is high as of 2022, about one in two FATEs will drop a crystal, so the grind is not onerous.
** Collect a Luminous Wind Crystal from The Sea of Clouds, a Luminous Fire Crystal from Azys Lla, and a Luminous Lightning Crystal from The Churning Mists and turn in for an Astral Nodule.
You will need to complete repfeature for each weapon you wish to upgrade. This quest requires you to complete 10 dungeons with the Animated weapon equipped. You need to have the weapon equipped as you click the exit portal after each dungeon, and the dungeons must be completed in the order given in the quest. High level players can solo the dungeons unsynced by using the Unrestricted Party option. The dungeons you will need to complete are as follows: dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, dungeon, and dungeon. ==Hyperconductive Anima Weapons (iLvl 230)==
Hyperconductive Anima Weapons/Quest
Hyperconductive Anima weapons have a glow and some special effects added to their model.

For repfeature, simply buy 5x Aether Oil from Sundry Splendors for poetics Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each (poetics total) and turn them in to complete the quest and upgrade your weapon.

You can also do repfeature, but this is far less efficient, as it requires you to run each of the three Crystal Tower alliance raids per Aether Oil, for 15 runs in total.
Reconditioned Anima Weapons (iLvl 240)
Reconditioned Anima Weapons/Quest
Reconditioned Anima weapons again have a new model.

This step is a bit more involved. For repfeature, you will need to collect Umbrite and Crystal Sand. The exact amount will vary due to RNG, but will generally be 57x-60x of each. Umbrite can be purchased for poetics Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each (4275-4500 total), while Crystal Sand will require you to trade with Ulan in Idyllshire for certain items. Each trade grants 2 Crystal Sand. Most of the trade options are a poor deal, and some require items that are no longer obtainable.

The only recommended options are:
* 5x Blue Crafters' Scrip Token (white crafter White Crafters' Scrip total) = 2 Crystal Sand
* 5x Blue Gatherers' Scrip Token (white gatherer White Gatherers' Scrip total) = 2 Crystal Sand
* 5x Superior Enchanted Ink and 5x Thavnairian Mist (poetics Allagan Tomestones of Poetics total) = 2 Crystal Sand

Note: depending on the economy when you are doing this, primal parts might be a very efficient way to obtain the sand. Make sure to check the market board.

See Reconditioned Anima Weapons/Quest for other trade options and further details.

Once you have acquired the items, talk to Ulan to create Refined Crystal Sand and upgrade the stats on your weapon. Once the step is complete, you can turn in the quest and upgrade your weapon.
* Purchase from Sundry Splendors for poetics Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each, or poetics total.
* 18x from the Weekly Quest repfeature, which requires you to run dutyroulette three times.
Complete Anima Weapons (iLvl 270)
Complete Anima Weapons/Quest
Complete Anima weapons change their model yet another time, but this time they already come with their built-in light show.

This is one of the more grindy steps. Pick up the quest repfeature. First you will need to complete the three dungeons dungeon, dungeon, and dungeon. These can be done in any order.

Next, you will need to farm aetheric density. This is the main grind. You can earn aetheric density by running a variety of Heavensward activities, including FATEs, dungeons, trials, and raids with your weapon equipped. The most efficient method is generally considered to be to assemble a few max-level teammates and repeatedly farm raid (A9S) unsynced. Your progress may be viewed using the Enhanced Anima Glass. Talk to the Verification Node after completing the grind.

You will also need to acquire a Newborn Soulstone via repfeature, which requires you to collect and turn in 15 Pneumite, which can be purchased from Sundry Splendors for poetics Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each (poetics total) or from your Grand Company quartermaster for 4000 Company Seals each (60000 total).

Once these steps are complete, turn in the quest to upgrade your weapon.
Lux Anima Weapons are the final form of this weapon series. They use the same model as the previous ones but now with very showy special effects.

You will need to complete the one-time quests feature and feature. Afterwards, for repfeature you will need to complete 12 trials, which come in 4 groups. The groups have to completed in a specific order, but trials within a given group can be completed in any order. The trials are as follows:
* Step 1: trial, trial, trial
* Step 4: trial, trial, trial

Lore
For thousands of years, Eorzea has been a victim to catastrophic cycles of destruction and rebirth that periodically envelops the realm and threatens all who live upon her soil; each time faced with a tragedy seemingly worse than the last. Despite this, the peoples of Eorzea have found some way to persevere.

One method, seemingly going back hundreds of generations, has been the establishment of comprehensive command centres which combine the military, economic and technological resources of a city-state to better prepare for the coming doom. These are the Grand Companies of Eorzea.

The last recorded emergence of the Grand Companies was nearly 1,500 years ago, at the end of the Fifth Astral Era and the arrival of the great deluge which triggered the dark period known as the Sixth Umbral Era. It was through these companies that the then warring city-states were able to put aside their bitter differences and join together to form an alliance and ensure the realm survived.

With the recent attacks by the Garlean Empire seen as an imminent threat to the realm, there have been scattered talks of restoring the Grand Companies to their former glory, but conflicting agendas on all sides have slowed progress. That is, until the appearance of an adventurer who set in motion the wheels of hope.
Grand Companies are organizations that players will join at around level 20 by completing the main story quests. There are three grand companies, The Maelstrom from Limsa Lominsa, The Immortal Flames from Ul'dah, and The Order of the Twin Adder from Gridania.

Grand Companies are divided into numerous ranks, with players starting at the lowest rank of Private Third Class. Promotions can be earned with a special currency called Company Seals. These seals can also be exchanged with the Grand Company Quartermaster for weapons, armour, crafting materials, and items such as Ventures.

*Participating in FATEs and the Duty Roulette also awards Company Seals once players have joined a Grand Company

*Players do not need to choose the Grand Company from their city of origin and can also change their Grand Company later if they wish.

Supply and Provision Missions
Grand Companies are always in need of supplies in their daily operations. Players can earn experience points for specific classes and company seals by crafting or gathering the items required and delivering them. Talk to a Grand Company Personnel Officer to complete the delivery.

*There is one daily request for every crafting and gathering class each, and the experience rewarded is given to the respective class.
*The items required changes every day, with higher-level items being requested as the corresponding class levels up. Players can check the items by selecting the Timers under the Duty tab in the main menu.
*Items with a star next to them will yield extra experience points.
*Supply and Provision Missions reset every day at 21.00 server time.

Expert Delivery Missions
Grand Companies also accept rare equipment. Players can donate these sellable items to their grand companies in exchange for seals. Players can speak to a Grand Company Personnel Officer to donate items.

*Acceptable items include all gear that with names that are not yellow in their help window.
*You must have reached Sergeant Second Class in your grand company for this option.
*Equipment items obtained from dungeons, trials, or tomestone vendors may be repeatedly delivered as desired. However, weapon and armor obtained from job quests or repurchased from the Calamity Salvager cannot be delivered.

Grand Company Leves
Players can complete these special levequests to earn items, experience and company seals.

Changing Grand Companies
Upon reaching the rank of Second Lieutenant, granting access to their stock and allowing acquisition of Grand Company-specific minions and Chocobo Bardings. They will also be eligible to change their Grand Company altogether, though doing so will place them at the lowest rank of Private Third Class.

*After changing your allegiance, you must wait 15 days before changing again.
*The first change is free, but any subsequent changes will cost 50,000 gil.

Upon returning to a Grand Company after a transfer, your previous rank will be restored, allowing you to 'max out' all three Grand Companies if you wish.
