“Although the Make It Rain Campaign is billed as a celebration, unlike the other festivities held throughout the year, what exactly it celebrates is a question without answer. Held by Manderville & Manderville at the aptly named Manderville Gold Saucer, the main function of the Make It Rain Campaign appears to be to lure customers so that they can spend what coin they have on the many diversions within.
To that end, it has proven extremely effective. During the event, the amount of Manderville Gold Saucer points—a form of currency usable only within the confines of the Saucer—rewarded by its games is increased, and gamblers flock to the gleaming tower in droves. As if the allure of winning an arguably useless currency were not enough, on occasion adventurers are hired to lend mystique to the proceedings—or reduce the overabundance of mystique already present, depending on the day.
